WWE NXT 24/8/21 | A Coherent Review.

The next few weeks should be eye-opening given the NXT as we know it, might be dead after those taped episodes.

Depending on how NXT going forward is being presented, I may end my run of reviewing the yellow brand.

Will see what happens but for now, the question is, how was NXT this week?

I thought it was decent but it didn't blow me away either.

Cameron Grimes Celebrates His Million Dollar Championship Victory.

The title above pretty much described the gist of the opening act other than some cash was thrown around the CWC that has Grimes' face on it.

The true babyface move is to give out some actual 100 dollar bills but y'all know that WWE can't write babyfaces properly.

Overall, this was fine for what it was.

Ridge Holland vs Timothy Thatcher.

A short but solid encounter. Thatcher's strength isn't enough to put down the big man as Holland defeated Thatcher with a move that I don't know the name of because I'm not Mauro Ranallo.

Oh, and Danny Burch is back and assists his partner Oney Lorcan, Ridge Holland and Pete Dunne in giving Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher a beating.

There's a wedding date announced for Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis and that date is September 17th. Looking forward to seeing it. Hoping it isn't a disaster like all wrestling wedding segments.

Kacy Catanzaro And Kayden Carter vs Gigi Dolin And Jacy Jayne.

An aight match. The team of Catanzaro and Carter won here and that decision is odd considering how Gigi Dolin was showcased last week.

Franky Monet gave an "I got my eyes on you" speech on Raquel Gonzalez and all I can say is, do not book this match quickly because this could be a special one if given the time and effort to build this match.

Speaking of Kay Lee Ray, she defeated Valentina Feroz. Meh.

Samoa Joe Finds His Potential Opponents.

This was a "random wrestlers state their case as to why they're number one contender for a title" segment between Pete Dunne, Kyle O'Reilly and LA Knight with a bit of a brawl in the end.

LA Knight. You know, the same LA Knight that lost a title match to Cameron Grimes a few days ago?

This is leading to a match between Samoa Joe and Pete Dunne since Dunne has been protected from Ls for quite some time.

And you know what? I do not hate that decision if that's the case.

Duke Hudson traded in some back and forth right hands with Kyle O'Reilly. Cool.

Carmelo Hayes vs Odyssey Jones. NXT Breakout Tournament Finals.

A decent encounter. Carmelo Hayes has officially won the 2021 edition of the NXT breakout tournament and I'm curious whether he will get an NXT championship opportunity or the North American championship? Will see what happens later down the line

Side note, Odyssey Jones looked good even in defeat so I wouldn't dismiss the guy if I was NXT.

Xyon Quinn vs Boa.

Xyon Quinn looks like somebody put in a lot of time into creating a wrestler in the WWE 2K games.

Quinn got an upset victory over Boa. It ain't an upset when guys like Boa have looked weak in their matches as of late, you know.

Gargano told William Regal to cancel the wedding of Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell and Regal refused. F**k you, Johnny. You a**hole.

In a promo filmed in an MMA training facility, Malcolm Bivens was like, "Roderick Strong is the uncrowned cruiserweight champion". This man is carrying the stable behind his back with promo after promo. Good on NXT for actually doing something meaningful with the guy!

Hit Row vs Legado De La Fantasma.

A fun tag team main event action. Thanks to the leader of Legado De La Fantasma, Santos Escobar, the heel stable picked up the victory which only means one thing.

A North American championship match coming very soon (no f**king shit, Omar).

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Hit Row vs Legado De La Fantasma, Ridge Holland vs Timothy Thatcher, stan Malcolm Bivens.

Didn't like: Nitpicking but Gigi Dolin losing a match after a clean win last week.

WWE Smackdown 21/1/22 | A Coherent Review.

Another week, another time Pat McAfee shows me why he's better than Corey Graves. Both in the ring AND on the commentary table.  As far as how I feel about this week's episode, it ain't good, people. It ain't good.  An Image via WWE.com   Sethy Mane Wanted A Tag Partner So….………. That he faces The Usos later in the show and if drippy Jesus wins, 2 out of 3 members of the Bloodline are barred off ringside in the blue title encounter (in case you were wondering, Kevin Owens was Seth's tag partner).  BUTTTTTTTTTTTT! The tribal chief had other ideas. He proposed a pitch where if the "burn it down" man loses the tag match, the Rumble match is gone, FINITO!  Bully Ray probably saw Seth Rollins' uttering Jox Moxley's name and reacted, "HOW DARE YOU!! BLASPHEMY!"  Fortunately for SR The Drip Mane, he got what he wanted via a DQ finish thanks to a superman punch from Roman Reigns. While the ending did protect the tag champs, the consequences of i...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...

WWE Smackdown 17/7/20 | A Coherent Review.

This recent instalment of Smackdown was decent.  The women, for the most part, was the standout in this program and it honestly carried the show from a meh to a decent watch.  The show started off with Jeff Hardy and Sheamus talking about the upcoming bar fight which you can scroll down to read my thoughts on it.  Sasha Banks and Bayley Gives Us A New Perspective Of The Word "Greatness".  The so-called "golden role models" were praising their greatness to which Nikki Cross was furious about the way she lost at Extreme Rules.  So, Nikki wanted a rematch for the SmackDown women's championship and Bayley accepted that bout if Nikki faces her best friend, Alexa Bliss to determine the number one contender.  That match started immediately after this segment and it was a good opener.  Bayley and Sasha Banks were entertaining in the commentary as per usual.  When Corey Graves brought the fact that Bayley didn't want t...
