WWE Smackdown 9/7/21 | A Coherent Review.

I'm happy to note that Smackdown was a good show and way better than the previous weeks.

Roman Reigns Took Issue With Jimmy Uso' Comment.

That comment from Jimmy Uso was regarding Roman Reigns' absence in the previous episode and how Reigns took a vacation while Jimmy took a beating from Edge last week.

The tribal chief replied with the "vacation" line saying that he doesn't take vacations because Roman can do what Jimmy Uso couldn't do and that's being the top player of WWE.

Jey Uso showed up and his words about focusing on their journey back to the tag team championship, had the family back together.

I saw a comment after watching the video clips (for clarity purposes since I tend to miss some aspects of the episode) where in the initial episodes inside the "award-winning" Thunderdome, Roman and Jey were feuding and now, at the end of the Thunderdome, Roman Reigns, Jey and Jimmy Uso are all reunited as *Dominic Toretto' voice* family.

And THAT comment, signalizes how much this scene was too damn poetic especially for professional wrestling standards.

(Speaking of Dominic Toretto, the film nerds out here talking about Rey from the recent Star Wars movie trilogy is a "Mary Sue". My question is, where's that same energy for Toretto? The mofo is a mechanic defeating trained mercenaries like it's nothing. Dom is, unironically speaking, the John Cena of movie characters).

All dumb movie takes aside, there's nothing more to say other than all of this was a fantastic piece of storytelling.

King Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin. Money In The Bank Qualifying Match.

Look. We all know that Baron Corbin's hairline is falling apart like Asgard in Thor Ragnarok but I shouldn't be the one to make judgements considering that mine ain't better.

Nakamura wins and qualifies for the Money In The Bank ladder match. Cool.

Shotzi And Nox vs Natalya And Tamina.

That's right, geeks! Shotzi Blackheart is now known as Shotzi while Tegan Nox is just Nox. I don't hate singular names but Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart just sound better.

I know I'm nitpicking but this is just insulting to viewers like myself that consumes NXT on a weekly basis.

Imagine watching a TV series that stars a character named Gus McGee and during its 5th season, the name was shortened to McGee for no reason.

I will say, it is nice to see fresh names on the blue brand since their women's division is pretty much non-existent like Corbin's hairline (mine included).

To my surprise, the new faces of Smackdown pinned the women's tag team champions which means they're going to have a women's tag team championship opportunity which means they're going to lose to Natalya and Tamina over and over again.

Liv Morgan Is Replacing Bayley's Spot In the Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Firstly, well wishes to Bayley. I'm hoping she makes the speediest of recovery.

Secondly, Bianca Belair is defeating her championship against Carmella next week and I'm fine with that, honestly.

Liv Morgan is now in the ladder match and she held herself pretty well on the mic saying that if Carmella wins the title, Morgan is going to cash in her contract on Mella.

The Alpha Academy pulled off a Nle Choppa in that you don't want to mess with them otherwise a beatdown will happen.

The difference is that Alpha Academy would actually do that while Nle Choppa is like that kid that screams "I'M GROWN!" With no intimation whatsoever. You probably don't know who I'm even talking about and honestly, you shouldn't.

Cesaro vs Seth Rollins. Money In The Bank Qualifying Match.

A fun match that felt somewhat unique thanks to the sheer brutality of it all (just say it has blood, Omar). Rollins stomped on a bloody and unconscious Cesaro to win and earn a spot in the ladder match.

Rollins had a face to face verbal with Edge and all I'm going to say is, start the feud immediately, guys.

Speaking of Edge, he cut a promo on the final segment of the night, stating the usual "I'm going to take the championship from the champion" line.

Out came Roman Reigns and he threw hands with Edge. The Rated R superstar got some assistance to fight off the Usos in the Mysterios.

The entire segment was aight but as a long time fan, seeing Edge and Rey Mysterio reunited was bittersweet. Otherwise, nothing really that notable happened here.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The Roman Reigns and Usos segment, Edge and Rey Mysterio reuniting, Cesaro vs Seth Rollins.

Didn't like: Nitpicking but the singular name changes for Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
