WWE RAW 5/7/21 | A Coherent Review.

The build for the Money In The Bank show continues as the red brand is surprisingly delivering a decent job at it so far.

The question is, did this episode continue its solid build towards the next PPV or nah? Not really.

While the episode was as a whole, pretty average. It does have its highlights and here's why.

The Miz. Special Guests, Feels like Everybody.

This segment was basically The Miz and John Morrison being interfered by Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, AJ Styles (along with Omos) and the piece of dogsh*te himself, Riddle.

Riddle was sitting on top of the ladder throughout the entire segment just talking about getting high or something to which Omos and later AJ Styles, further damaged Riddle's knee.

This opening act was as basic as it gets. Ricochet's mic presence is so mediocre, he makes Dana Carvey look like an Oscar contender in the process.

It was just one long "meh" that feels like I'm going through the motions.

Ricochet vs John Morrison.

A rematch but I can't complain because it was good. While Morrison entered the ring, The Miz used his wheelchair to block Ricochet so that the high flyer couldn't enter the ring once again. A smart finish, might I add.

Drew McIntyre vs Jinder Mahal.

With how long the current pandemic has lasted, this feels like this is Jinder's first match in 3 years.

You know what's better than a distraction finish? A No DQ finish, of course!

One of Indus Sher attacked Drew McIntyre which led to a beatdown from Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher to Drew McIntyre.

Cool.

Alexa Bliss, Naomi And Nikki A.S.H vs Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Eva Marie And Doudrop.

Remember the bit of praise I gave for Eva Marie? Well, I'm taking all of that back because, oh my Allah, Eva Marie's wrestling ability is as stable as Windows Vista.

Jax led her team to victory with the Samoan drop but Eva Marie calls herself as the sole winner of the match.

Mustafa Ali vs Mansoor.

They've had a solid verbal back and forth before and I'm kinda glad that they squared off in the ring.

I like the match for what it was.

WWE, just give me more Mansoor. The guy is legit f**king good.

Ali faked a knee injury that showed a minute of empathy from Mansoor but that was followed by a roll-up from Ali to win the match.

T Bar And Mace vs Lucha House Party.

Sh*t. You said that I should skip watching this match? True, true.

T Bar showed some devastating moves (ha. Giggity) but that wasn't enough to win the whole thing as Lince Dorado used a roll-up to declare themselves as winners.

Riddle vs AJ Styles.

A decent encounter. Riddle executed that move at the end of the first karate kid film to Styles which I thought was creative (why am I praising an a**hole?).

Thanks to the Viking Raiders on the outside, Riddle picked up the victory with the roll-up. Wow, another distraction finish. How original!

Rhea Ripley Mocked Charlotte Flair's "Injury".

Side note, the way Rhea Ripley showed up using the church to mock Flair's "injury" was hilarious.

Turns out, Flair wasn't hurt which led to a "duel of the fates" moment by having both women use a crutch to attack each other.

That part of the segment was kind of embarrassing, to be honest.

It would be funny though if Kevin Dunn added the "duel of the fates" music from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Elias And Cedric Alexander vs Jaxson Ryker And R Truth.

The whole 24/7 stuff is why R Truth wasn't in the match and honestly, at this point, just get rid of the belt because I've seen the exact same sequence of events regarding the 24/7 for 2 years now.

Jaxson Ryker as a babyface is like telling me that Riley from Buffy The Vampire Slayer is a convincing good guy.

The difference is that Riley (to my knowledge) doesn't support a movement that includes getting rid of marginalized groups of people.

Ryker wins. Cool.

The New Day vs MVP And Bobby Lashley.

Look. A good main event encounter. Kofi was the shine in this bout. The New Day prevailed thanks to a trouble in paradise from Kingston to Montel Von Porter.

I'm enjoying the build for the WWE championship rivalry so far and this match just added yet another layer of a great feud.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The New Day vs MVP And Bobby Lashley, Rhea Ripley's crutch entrance, Ricochet vs John Morrison, Mansoor vs Mustafa Ali.

Didn't like: Ryker as a face?, the Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair segment, Eva Marie's in-ring skills, 24/7 stuff is kinda stale ya know?

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...
