WWE NXT 4/5/21 | A Coherent Review.

It looks like the Divas era is back based on the time these women get in a wrestling match on the main roster as well as Eva Marie's return (huh? Wrong show? Oh, thank God!).

All lame jokes aside, this week's episode of NXT is apples to spaceships difference between this show and Monday Night BORE (I legit fell asleep while watching the show which is why I didn't post a RAW review yesterday).

Last week's episode wasn't great so it's awesome to witness an improvement.

Leon Ruff vs Isiah Swerve Scott In A Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Leon took a nasty looking knee strike from Swerve Scott minutes into the match.

Swerve Scott delivered his finisher using the barricade and it isn't a surprise when I tell you that it was executed perfectly.

Thanks to the debuting AJ Francis, Isiah Swerve Scott nailed his finisher to pick up the victory.

This opening encounter gave me Takeover vibes. In other words, the match was f**king awesome.

I am surprised that Swerve was given the win here but I ain't mad at the decision.

Johnny Gargano showed up at William Regal's office along with Austin Theory even though Regal is in the middle of a meeting with Scarlett Bordeaux. The reason?

Well, Gargano feels like Regal has been ignoring the so-called "number one champion's" request to remove the North American championship match against Bronson Reed.

Meanwhile, Austin made a comment about Bordeaux's tit….. I mean, her nails.

I'm not going to be a white knight of some sort and rant about how "it's the most terrible thing WWE has done".

I would be lying though if I didn't say that the joke itself is a little too outdated.

The comment from Austin didn't play out so well for the young man as he is going to face Karrion Kross next week.

Cameron Grimes vs Asher Hale.

This was aight. Nothing too special happened. Grimes wins.

Grimes wanted to celebrate his victory in the VIP club room and unfortunately, he couldn't enter the room because of one person, TED DIBIASE!!

The segments with Cameron Grimes and Ted Dibiase will NEVER be not funny.

In an interview with McKenzie Mitchell, Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro are eyeing on the NXT women's tag team belts but Franky Monet ain't buying their confidence.

Franky Monet is going to piss off the entire NXT locker room with her constant backstage interview interruptions (No sh*t, Omar).

Grizzled Young Veterans vs Tommaso Ciampa And Timothy Thatcher.

A decent bout. By the way, I know some of y'all are sick of hearing this but I'm glad that Ciampa shaved his head. He legit looks a decade younger.

Timothy Thatcher used a shoe to defeat the team of Zack Gibson and James Blake (I for some reason, laughed after seeing that).

NXT's version of "wrestlers showing up to make their case as to why they deserve a championship opportunity" cliche.

That's how the segment with Karrion Kross, Finn Balor, Kyle O'Reilly and Pete Dunne played out. The difference (I guess) is that a brawl ensued that included The Way's Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory.

Is this a tease at a possible fatal four-way match for the title between Balor, Dunne, O'Reilly and Kross or am I just bugging?

I wouldn't mind it if that's the case just because it's something different which is ironic to say that given how the main roster abuses its use of a multi-person match.

A segment was aired involving Raquel Gonzalez and Mercedes Martinez and the theme of this was one word, accomplishments. It was okay, questionable booking for this rivalry aside.

LA Knight vs Jake Atlas.

It is nice to see LA Knight you know, ACTUALLY WINNING MATCHES!?

Sarray vs Zayda Ramier.

The woman with a great shooting star press, unfortunately, took an L with a vicious looking side suplex from Sarray.

Zayda reminds me of a younger Matt Sydal and it isn't because she shares the same finisher as Sydal (it definitely is though, Omar. Stop lying to the 2 viewers who are going to read this review).

Legado De La Fantasma Mentioned The Cruiserweight Champion And The NXT Tag Team Champions.

The stable stated their chase as to why they deserve a championship opportunity.

Kushida appeared via the titantron and he challenged him to a match for the cruiserweight championship next week and Santos Escobar was on board. Should be a decent match.

Ember Moon And Shotzi Blackheart vs Candice LeRae And Indi Hartwell For The NXT Women's Tag Team Championship In A Street Fight.

A match so good that it's actually better than Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan this past Friday on Smackdown. This might be my favourite TV match of a young 2021.

Blackheart delivered a crossbody to Indi Hartwell through an announce table.

Speaking of Hartwell, she did a picture-perfect springboard elbow drop to Ember through a table.

The match concluded with a stomp from LeRae to Shotzi Blackheart and just like that, The Way are the new NXT women's tag team champions.

Can we talk about Indi Hartwell's in-ring work as of late? She has improved tremendously inside the squared circle.

Yes, she had great dancer partners but that shouldn't take away the drastic improvements Indi has made wrestling wise.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart vs Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell for the NXT women's tag team championship in a street fight, Cameron Grimes and Ted Dibiase segments never gets old, Isiah Swerve Scott vs Leon Ruff in a falls count anywhere match.

Didn't like: No dislikes my friend.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
