The 5 News Week: Rhea Ripley Wasn't A Heel All Along!?

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor pro wrestling news, rumours and spoilers of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

Rhea Ripley Wasn't A Heel All Along!?

On this past week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Rhea Ripley teamed up with the current women's tag team champions in Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.

Since the Baszler and Jax are a heel duo, you would think that Ripley has officially turned to the dark side, right? Bryan Alvarez doesn't think so.

According to the most positive person in wrestling punditry, the Thunderdome fans were told to cheer for the Australian.

If this is the case, it is an unusual thing for WWE to have a so called babyface team up with two heels against a team full of babyfaces.

Will see if she stays on the good side.

Former Member of The Nexus, Michael Traver On His Heat With John Cena.

Michael Traver or Shelton Benjamin if your name is Vincent Kennedy McMahon, spoke on the Talkin' Sass podcast and during the discussion, Traver talked about how hard big match John was to him (from Post Wrestling):

"It [the backstage heat] was never direct, it was never direct. Yeah, so a lot of people would come up to me and would like tell me, ‘Hey, there’s big plans for you.

Like there’s a lot of people very impressed with you. Just keep your head up’ because everyone saw that I had heat with one person in particular. Everyone saw it and it was just, it was obvious.

Like backstage, it was relentless, relentless — I don’t wanna use the word ‘bullying’ because I’m not a victim but it was just relentless and you know, I stood up for myself.

There was times where he would take liberties in the ring so I would give him some knuckles in the ring and I had to defend myself.

You know how it is. Somebody takes liberties, you gotta — don’t let ‘em walk all over you."

Quick Thoughts On Smackdown Yesterday.

This week's show was a lot of fun. The key obvious highlight was the main event encounter for the universal championship between Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns

(can I just say that Reigns' new theme song was awesome? It was in the works since his return in August according to the Dong Lord, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful).

Since he's out of the blue brand per the stipulation of the championship match, Is Daniel Bryan going to appear on Monday Night BORE, NXT or is this Bryan's final match and a way to ride off the sunset?

Impact Rebellion Has One Of The Highest PPV Buys!?

From Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (F4WOnline), Impact Wrestling's Rebellion PPV did major numbers for the company.

The number isn't exact but the PPV had 9 times the buys for Bound For Glory (their biggest PPV of the year) and twice the buys for Hard To Kill which took place this past January.

It seems like the partnership with AEW has benefited Impact Wrestling (no sh*t, Omar).

Adam Pearce Got A Promotion?

On top of being one of the best authority figures in quite some time, Adam Pearce has a separate duty as the director of live events which was a position held by Michael "P.S" Hayes.

The story was reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

It looks like WWE is preparing to resume touring. The simple question is, when?

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy? Anyways, stay safe smarks.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
