The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: NXT Takeover Stand And Deliver Night 1, There Was A Dynamite Episode Apparently.

There it is. The final edition of the Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays.

I would be lying if I didn't say that I came out of watching 4 hours of professional wrestling with exhaustion every week which is why I wasn't consistent with the written series for some weeks.

But, what a way to end The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays with a fantastic first night of NXT Takeover: Stand And Deliver.

This week's AEW Dynamite stood no chance with the black and gold brand this week. In other words, I picked NXT.

Oh, and I haven't seen the Zoey Stark vs Toni Storm match so can't speak on it.

NXT

Highlights.

Pete Dunne vs Kushida.

As a technical wrestling geek, I f'ing enjoyed the hell out of the opening match. Full of brutality that was mixed with a lot of submissions that was utilized mostly on the arm area.

Dunne picked up the victory with the bitter end.  I legit do not know where Kushida goes from here. He's pretty much going through the motions in NXT and he shouldn't be because the dude is way too talented to not be showcased on a prominent scale.

A Gauntlet Eliminator To Determine The Number One Contender For The North American Championship.

Leon Ruff and Isiah Swerve Scott started off the match and at one point, Ruff delivered a sick looking cutter on the outside.

Bronson Reed was next and the dude legit did a double German suplex to Leon and Isiah which looked cool as f**k.

Out came big money himself, Cameron Grimes and he briefly teamed up with Isiah Swerve Scott to take on Leon Ruff.

And, the plan was successful as Isiah Swerve Scott got the first elimination of the night by pinning Leon.

Dexter Lumis and moments later, LA Knight showed up. LA Knight with the help of Cameron Grimes, pinned Dexter Lumis to which LA Knight was himself eliminated by Bronson Reed (LA Knight keeps on taking Ls like candy bruh).

It's now down to 3 guys. Cameron Grimes, Isiah Swerve Scott and Bronson Reed. Two heels and one babyface.

Who do you think won the gauntlet match? As a fan of the resident Thick Boy (okay, that sounded weird), I'm happy to see the big man take the W.

By the way, I'm surprised that Swerve Scott lasted till the very end.

That may or may not be intentional in terms of his future plans but it's pretty cool nevertheless.

Oh, and the match was awesome.

Walter vs Tommaso Ciampa For The NXT UK championship.

A match I was looking forward to and it was FANFREAKINGTASTIC!

Side note, Ciampa looked a decade younger with his clean shaved head.

So many chops and slaps that made me feel my chest from both beasts of WWE.

Unfortunately for Ciampa, he took a clothesline from Walter and that's how the leader of Imperium retained the UK title.

Now, that's what I call the match of the night.

Msk vs Legado De La Fantasma vs The Grizzled Young Veterans For The NXT Tag Team Championship.

I don't know if anybody has made this comparison but James Drake is basically "what if a British Seth Green decided to wrestle instead of being in a career that involves him pretending to be a werewolf who ditched his girlfriend?"

That tag team bout absolutely RULEDUH. The number of near falls in the match had me literally at the edge of my seat.

Despite the bad arm from Wes Lee, he led his partner Nash Carter to a championship title victory.

Some Other Things That Happened.

A Vignette From Frank Monet -  Taya Valkyrie is making its NXT debut next Tuesday. Should be intriguing.

Raquel Gonzalez defeated Io Shirai and became the NXT women's champion - Why's Raquel Gonzalez dressed like Meghan Trainor in the "No" music video? That made me laugh for some odd reason.

The main event was aight. The outcome was predictable yet I don’t mind it. Will see where the genius of the sky goes from here.

AEW

Highlights.

Chris Jericho Calls MJF "My Jerk Off Friend".

The promo from the leader of the Inner Circle was pretty much about the beatdown from the newly formed stable "The Pinnacle".

Jericho announced that on May 5th, The Inner Circle will face the Pinnacle in a Blood And Guts match.

That promo was great from the man that blocked Montel Vontavious Porter on Twitter for reasons.

Later in the evening, Jericho was attacked by the Pinnacle but he was saved by Mike Tyson himself. Cool.

Kenny Omega And The Good Brothers defeated Jon Mox And The Young Bucks.

Thanks to two people, The Young Bucks. They didn't want to superkick their friend, Kenny Omega. Seeing Jon deliver 3 DDTs had The Young Bucks nailing a superkick on Jon Moxley.

The Young Bucks are part of Kenny Omega's posse and all I can say is, the narrative is getting really interesting.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Hangman Page defeated The Acclaimed Anthony Bowens - A decent opening contest.

The Death Triangle And Best Friends Had A Verbal Exchange - That exchange was about the AEW world tag team championship and their rivalry that happened early last year.

The Jurassic Express In Jungle Boy And Luchasaurus defeated Bear County In A "Godzilla vs Kong" match - Aka a marketing tool for the Godzilla vs Kong movie (no f'ing sh*t, Omar).

The Stinger Had Some Positive Words For Lance Archer For The Most Part - Sting thinks that Lance Archer is a main event level talent. Archer just needs to channel his emotions. Cool.

Darby Allin defeated JD Drake - Meh. Allin was then attacked by The Butcher And The Blade aka the BB but The Dark Order came to Darby's rescue.

Allie or The Bunny lost to Tay Conti - Conti is picking up a series of W. Gotta love it. Unfortunately, the match was meh.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
