The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Thunder Rosa vs Britt Baker AKA The BEST TV Match In Years!?

How good was that AEW Dynamite main event this week, am I right?

That match alone is why I prefer AEW Dynamite over NXT this week.

NXT did pull off a good show so overall, it was a fun 4 hours of pro wrestling.

NXT

Highlights.

Austin Theory vs Dexter Lumis.

Look, if you guys have been reading my stuff for quite some time then y'all know how I feel about Austin Theory.

I gotta admit though, this bout was actually really fun to watch. Austin's modified neckbreaker was f'ing cool.

The big odd guy wins here which is not a surprise.

Kyle O'Reilly Threatens Adam Cole.

Why? Well, Cole actually tried to end his career and Cole told William Regal who was in the stage area that he's going to find O'Reilly himself because O'Reilly isn't in the CWC.

Moments later, both guys are arrested by cops and Regal has an announcement regarding Cole and O'Reilly's animosity.

It sounds like we're getting a street fight of some sort at Takeover and honestly, I'm all for it.

This has the potential to be the match of the year contender.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Finn Balor And Karrion Kross Face To Face Confrontation - Pretty much, Kross told Finn that the audience recognizes that he's the authentic champion.

Balor replied saying that Karrion may walk or act as a champion but he isn't THE champion (well, that reply from Finn was kinda lame).

The segment ended with Kross promising the NXT champion that he will squeeze the oxygen out of Balor to take the championship.

The reason why this isn't on the "Highlights" section is that promo Finn Balor was so Goddamn cheesy and lame that it ruined the segment for me.

Finn Balor And Karrion lost to Oney Lorcan And Danny Burch For The NXT Tag Team Championship - Aka the "can the champ and the challenger co-exist" cliche.

I don't understand why WWE plays that trope especially since we're seeing that exact same arc on Smackdown.

Yes, it answered that question pretty quickly and the angle didn't last week's worth of storytelling but it's still a played out trope.

Kross was the reason why he and Balor lost the tag team championship match.

I'm looking forward to the match itself but the build so far has been mid at best.

Legado De La Fantasma defeated Breezango - The match was decent is all I'll say.

Oh, and Jordan Devlin showed up and reminded Santos Escobar that he's the legit NXT cruiserweight champion.

I'm hoping if we're getting the title vs title match that Santos loses so that he moves on to bigger things.

Sarray Is Coming To NXT - Before I started to write this review, I've seen a few of Sarray formerly known as Sareee matches on YouTube because I'm the resident WWE shill and she's f'ing good.

A great pick up for the yellow brand.

Dakota Kai defeated Zoey Stark - The match was aight.

Io Shirai came out as a helping hand for Zoey given that both women will face the duo of Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez.

La Knight First NXT Match In 7 Years - It wasn't offensive.

Walter and the rest of Imperium laid waste on Tommaso Ciampa - Hey, a feud between Ciampa And Walter is something I can't complain about although the beatdown itself was fine for what it was.

AEW

Highlights.

Britt Baker vs Thunder Rosa In A Light Outs Match.

Wrestlers like Brian Pillman Jr were hyping the crap out of this main event encounter on my Twitter timeline and my God, was the hype justified.

Holy crap, those two women DESTROYED each other. Me writing this doesn't do the match justice in my opinion.

Thunder Rosa picked up the W with a modified death valley driver of some sort through a table from the ring apron.

AEW's main criticism since the company's inception was their women's division and within the past few months, AEW has built a sense of engagement when it comes to that division.

In other words, AEW's women's division is improving.

To quote Kool & The Gang, "salute to the ladies".

MJF's Posse Spoke About Their Actions Last Week.

You had Tully Blanchard cutting the promo of his life.

Yes, the turn from MJF was predictable and was hoping for a character development where he's loyal to the Inner Circle group given that people would hate the guy even though he doesn't understand it (if that entire sentence made any sense to you).

I can't complain though. MJF was pretty good with his signature mic work. In other words, he carried this segment.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Cody Rhodes defeated Penta El Zero Miedo - With a roll-up in a decent match. Penta took his frustrations on Cody by attacking the guy but Cody was saved by his brother, Dustin.

Jade Cargill quickly defeated Dani Jordyn - I know you've heard this line for Jade Cargill a gazillion times but that woman looks like a million dollars. What a star.

Private Party, Matt Hardy And Butler And The Blade defeated Jurassic Express And Bear Country - This was aight.

Good Brothers in Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson lost to Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston - Omega and the Good Brothers destroyed Eddie Kingston's leg and throat.

The Young Bucks came out and they wanted to have nothing to do with the beatdown.

Bucks vs Good Bros match? I'm all for it.

Lance Archer wanted Darby Allin's TNT championship while Brian Cage showed Sting some respect - Team Taz wasn't too happy with Brian Cage's positive words for the Stinger. Meh.

Rey Fenix defeated Angelico - Two Lucha Underground alums battling out in an okay match.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
