AEW Revolution 2021 | A Coherent Review.

Remember what I said about AEW PPVs being too damn long if you've read my previous reviews?

Well, the elite brand did it again.

Besides what happened at the end, AEW once again, delivered a decent show. Oh, and I haven't seen the tag team match with Thunder Rosa, Riho vs Britt Baker and Maki Itoh at the pre-show so I can't speak on it

The Young Bucks vs Chris Jericho And MJF For The AEW World Tag Team Championship

The heels were dominant throughout most of the match.

Like, when MJF pulled off certain submissions to slow Nick Jackson down for a bit.

Matt Jackson finally tagged his brother and he nailed the comeback with a bulldog while he showed Chris Jericho the middle finger.

MJF pinned Nick Jackson with a quick roll up to a near fall.

The Jackson brothers grabbed Chris Jericho and delivered the Meltzer driver to retain the AEW tag belts.

Not the most mind-blowing match but it did have its fun moments. Overall, it was a solid opening bout.

Casino Battle Royal Match.

Aka a decent spin at the battle royal match stipulation.

I'm not going to write about everything that happened but rather some of the highlights.

Santana delivered a devastating looking kick to Evil Uno.

One of the nightmare family members, QT Marshall, eliminated himself due to some miscommunications with his partner, Dustin Rhodes.

Ever since the Death Triangle in Rey Fenix and Pac showed up, they became the highlight of the match and lasted till the end where they had to deal with Jungle.

A hard back and forth between all 3 men later and the Death Triangle eliminated Jungle Boy to win the casino battle royal.

Appreciated the uniqueness of said battle royal match. However, this as a whole, was aight other than the end sequence.

Hikaru Shida vs Ryo Mizunami For The AEW World Women's Championship.

Those two women beat the holy HELL out of each other. It was so brutal that when Shida nailed the shining wizard, Ryo kicked out.

But, Ryo didn't kick out of the corkscrew knee strike which is how Hikaru retained the women's championship.

After the match,  Britt Baker, Maki Itoh and Nyla Rose attacked Shida and Mizunami to which Thunder Rosa came to the rescue.

That title encounter kicked all sorts of a***** bruh. By far, the best match of the night.

The AEW women's division is looking good, to be honest. I love seeing the improvements from that department.

Miro And Kip Sabian vs Best Friends In Orange County And Chuck Taylor.

This was pretty much a showcase of Miro's in-ring dominance. And he ended the match with the camel clutch on Chuck Taylor.

The match was fine. Didn't do much for me to be honest.

In a backstage interview with Alex Marvez, Chris Jericho and MJF weren't happy regarding the L they took earlier in the night.

Cool.

Hangman Page vs "Big Money" Matt Hardy.

Another middle of the road match that happened on this show.

The only cool thing about this is when Page did his signature clothesline, Hardy reversed it into a side effect.

Page successfully delivered his finisher to win this match thanks to a bit of an assist from the Dark Order.

Hangman embraced the Dark Order which was a wholesome moment.

Max Caster vs Lance Archer vs Cody Rhodes vs Scorpio Sky vs A Mystery Opponent vs Penta Le Zero Miedo. A "Face The Revolution Ladder Match" With The Winner Getting A TNT Title Shot.

The gold ring above the squared-circle definitely does look like the ring that Sonic and other characters in that universe are chasing.

Also, Max Caster's promo was too damn spicy and the funny part about Caster's promo is, the commentators didn't know how to react.

The mystery opponent in this ladder match is none other than Impact Wrestling's own, Ethan Page (a good pick up by the elite guys).

Penta killed Cody's shoulder with that Canadian destroyer on the ladder that was set up between the barricade and the ring.

Scorpio Sky, somehow, snuck into the ring and grabbed the golden doughnut to win the ladder match.

I'll be shocked if Cody Rhodes came out of this match okay. He took some of the brutal spots.

Overall, this ladder match was good that had its moments, to say the least.

CHRISTIAN! CHRISTIAN!

Yes. The person that is the "hall of fame worthy" talent is Christian and the best part?

THEY BROUGHT BACK HIS TNA THEME (at least the modified version of it).

Sting And Darby Allin vs Brian Cage And Ricky Starks In A Street Fight.

Out of all of the cinematic matches that I've seen from WWE and AEW, this by far, has the best cinematography.

The tone, the colouring and the camera angles, blended so well together.

As far as the action itself, it was brutal just like the ladder match and the women's championship match and I love it.

I'm glad they gave the cinematic treatment for obvious reasons.

Darby Allin delivered an elbow drop on Brian Cage from the roof window all the way to the second floor through a wooden object (how are these guys even alive?).

The match ended in the ring with a scorpion death drop on Ricky Starks. I don't mind Ricky taking the pin.

I'm hoping this the blowoff of this feud because Darby has been feuding with Taz's FTW Crew for almost a year now.

Kenny Omega vs Jon Moxley For The AEW World Championship In A Barbed Wire Death Match.

Moxley took the first explosion of the match after he was pushed onto the barbed wire rope by Omega and man, I felt my back watching this.

Within minutes, Moxley's face showed some colour and somewhere in this arena, Cody Rhodes is proud.

Omega gained some help from The Good Bros and because of it, Omega retained the championship with a brutal looking one-winged angel on the edge of the chair.

Eddie Kingston showed up and tried to drag Moxley out of the ring because the ring was about to explode.

But, as soon as Eddie covered Moxley, the ring "exploded" and Kingston was knocked out.

That ending was f'ing funny at best and corny at worst. The selling from Kingston wasn't worth it.

It's a damn shame because I liked the main event a TON.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Kenny Omega vs Jon Moxley, Hikaru Shida vs Ryo Mizunami, Face The Revolution ladder match, the cinematic street fight match.

Didn't like: The ending, the overall pacing.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The White Rabbit In The Room.

I haven't reviewed last year's show mainly because it was so good and clearly as extreme as any ECW match and I'm happy to tell all 3 of y'all that this one is better by several inches or so. Why? *slaps my bald head* HERE'S WHY. The opening match between Sheamus and Gunther's crew ruled harder than the Mongolian empire.  It was basically an enhanced version of Sheamus' match with Gunther last night on Smackdown and I loved it.  The Brawling Brutes' victory means one thing that is clearly obvious, a rematch between Sheamus and Gunther for the intercontinental championship aka the only series of rematches I don't mind.  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan delivered in what was a wrestling match equivalent to the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie.  While Bianca Belair and Bayley had their equivalent to the first Iron Man movie in that it was decent.  Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had an okay edition of the "Meaty men slapping meat".  That spear from Edge to...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...
