WWE Smackdown 29/1/21 | A Coherent Review.

Smackdown was actually good outside of that horrendously written ending.

It's a shame too because that episode will be overshadowed and known for that ending.

Daniel Bryan Shares His Enthusiasm For The Royal Rumble.

And yes, the opening segment didn't involve Roman Reigns but I ain't complaining.

During the scene, Bryan pointed out the fact that he hasn't won a Royal Rumble match which it's in his bucket list.

Out came AJ Styles from Monday Night RAW and why is he here?

It's because of the brand to brand invitational aka the least consequential thing about the brand split.

Styles mentioned his liking for ruining the superstars' Royal Rumble dreams.

Styles went on to challenge Bryan to a match later in the night and since Bryan is the good guy, he of course accepted.

This was a decent 5 or 10 or so minutes to open the episode.

Both opposite guys with opposite motivations as to why they'll win the men's Rumble match.

Bayley vs Bianca Belair.

The last time they faced each other, Bayley pinned Belair.

So, was the outcome the same? Nah, because WWE creative actually had a brain this time around.

The match itself was good and told a solid story.

Bianca Belair defeated Bayley with the KOD.

I will say, the way Bayley used Belair's hair as a ring bell shouting, "Ding Dong" was f'ing hilarious.

King Corbin vs Dominik Mysterio.

The bout was surprisingly good? Contrasting styles were highlighted in the match.

Corbin picked up the W to which he tried to attack Rey but it failed.

Like I said in my preview reviews, I'm liking this mentorship storyline with Rey and Dominik Mysterio.

Maybe that'll lead to a tag team title win?

Big E had a brawl with The Miz and John Morrison that had something to do with the Royal Rumble match. Cool.

Something that also happened backstage was when Shinsuke Nakamura opposed Sami Zayn's journey to get the Intercontinental championship back.

I guess the duo of Sami Zayn and Shinsuke are no more (No sh*t, Omar).

The backstage segment with Sasha Banks and Carmella's Sommelier had my man @Ceehawk talking about the Sommelier's hairline.

I mean, mine isn't any better so if anything, this wasn't laughter but rather pain.

Roman Reigns And Kevin Owens Face To Face Confrontation.

This segment was pretty much Roman Reigns belittling Kevin Owens and his family.

Why? "Because, why not" according to probably Paul Heyman. And Kevin Owens wasn't having it.

This is yet another showcase of Roman Reigns embracing his newfound patience and I absolutely love it.

I know pretty much all of you will agree that the last man standing match will be to quote Booker T, GOOODT.

Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles.

During the match, Sami Zayn was protesting. I am not a huge fan of heel Sami but this stick is hilarious.

I would love for him to protest during the WWE championship match in a few days.

Big E showed up and he accidentally threw Sami Zayn on to Cesaro.

Cesaro wasn't having it and minutes later, it led to a brawl that included Shinsuke Nakamura.

You know what that means? *Sigh* a 6 man tag team match.

And then, Miz and John Morrison came out and ended the match via a DQ but Otis showed up by the good guys' side.

Guess what? That led to a 9 MAN TAG TEAM MATCH! Then, Sheamus ran to the ring and it looked like he was in the match.

After that match ended, Braun Strowman returned and laid waste on everybody and that's how the show ended.

What. The. F**k. That was the WORST ending I've seen in quite some time.

They pulled the "singles match that turned into a tag team match" cliche not once but TWICE!

Like, why can't Daniel Bryan and AJ have another classic and then do the typical huge brawl at the end?

Other than the Sami Zayn bit, this entire thing was horrendous.

I expect that f**king sh*t from Monday Night RAW.

Yet another example of WWE over-complicating their writing.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Bianca Belair vs Bayley, Sami Zayn protesting during the Bryan and Styles match, Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens segment, King Corbin vs Dominik Mysterio.

Didn't like: Whatever happened at the last hour.

WWE Smackdown 4/2/22 | A Coherent Review.

Gotta be honest guys, this episode didn't do it for me.  Besides the announcement of Ronda Rousey challenging Charlotte Flair for the blue women's belt at Wrestlemania as well as another challenge proposed by Goldberg aka NoBerg to the tribal chief, this, like last week's show, was as skippable as an anime filler episode.  Paul Heyman Was Like, "F**k That Brock Guy!"  Brock and Paul legit need some counselling because they've broken up and reunited together like my relationship with the Call of Duty franchise. To quote Gordon Ramsey, "DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!"  All lame banter aside, Paul Heyman's promos before Goldberg's appearance was the only good thing throughout the entire show.  As far as how I feel about the idea of Goldberg facing Roman Reigns at the upcoming Elimination Chamber show, major Ls on this one.   Ricochet vs Ridge Holland.  Yay, the "one on one match that later turned into a tag match" cliche. The difference is t...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...
