WWE RAW 4/1/21 | A Coherent Review.

What better way to kick off 2021 than by having Goldberg challenge THE WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble for the title, am I right?

I wanted to throw this piece of programming through the rubbish bin because this wasn't a good episode, I'll tell ya that much.

The Racist Himself, Hulk Hogan, Started Off The Show By….

Repeating his catchphrase using smartphone and social media talk. Cool.

Miz TV. Special Guests, The New Day.

The New Day were pretty much annoying the living hell out of Miz but not John Morrison as he was engaged in the conversation.

Out came Teddy Long and he was living the meme by telling Miz and Morrison that they're facing The Undertaka.

Not realizing that Undertaker ain't here, he decided to air his other well-known line.

A tag team match. This time, it features The Miz, Morrison and The New Day.

That Teddy Long bit was funny even though I can admit it was corny like most of the humour that WWE likes to produce.

The bit before Teddy Long? It dragged ON for no reason.

So, I didn't like this segment as a whole.

At least the tag team match was decent.

The good guys win with the shining wizard from Xavier Woods to John Morrison.

In an interview with Charly Caruso, Randy Orton revealed that the reason why he didn't lit the fire on Alexa Bliss last week is that he showed Bliss some compassion and mercy and blames it on The Fiend for changing him.

I'm a bit disappointed that they just answered the cliffhanger of an ending last week in a backstage interview of all things but the promo itself was not bad.

Alicia Fox and then, Sgt Slaughter weren't too happy with Angel Garza's rose.

Later in the night, Torrie Wilson tricked Garza into thinking that he'll meet Cardi B, Kylie Jenner and Ariana Grande in the other room and instead the person inside that room was The Boogeyman.

The reason? Well, this was all a plan for R Truth to grab the 24/7 championship once again and it worked. Cool.

AJ Styles vs Elias.

A rematch from last week and it was aight. Styles wins with the Styles clash.

Jaxson Ryker was about to hit Styles with the guitar but the phenomenal one was saved by the big man himself, Omos.

Big Show wasn't down with fighting against Randall Keith Orton because Big Show knows that Randy is just trying to get into his head and it didn't work.

This interaction, by the way, happened backstage. Cooool.

Charlotte Flair And Asuka vs Lacey Evans And Peyton Royce.

Due to Ric Flair, the match ended with a win for Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce. Charlotte then told her father to get out of her way.

I mean, he isn't showing up until the next legends show (which might happen next month) so that wouldn't be a problem for Charlotte.

Riddle vs Bobby Lashley.

Lashley thought that he won the match because Riddle tapped out of the full Nelson even though the ref didn't see that.

Riddle immediately rolled Bobby Lashley up for the W.

This is yet another case of WWE over-complicating their stories.

Riddle is already the number one contender for the US title so why produce this finish to prove the point that he is the challenger for the championship if that's where they're going with this?

This match should have not happened.

Another person that was sick of Randy Orton's BS is Mark Henry riding with a scooter. I don’t know what happened to his leg but speedy recovery for the world strongest man.

Shayna Baszler vs Mandy Rose.

This was supposed to be Baszler vs Rose but the submission magician took Rose out so Dana Brooke stood up for her friend by competing in Rose's place.

Brooke quickly pinned Baszler (major sigh) and then, Mandy Rose quickly came back up to which both women put down Shayna Baszler with a double flapjack.

So, Rose couldn't compete and yet a few minutes later, was miraculously okay for a post-match beatdown?

Gotta love WWE over-complicating their sh*t.

Randy Orton verbally destroyed Ric Flair. So much for compassion and mercy, right?

Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy.

Just like their match for the WWE championship at the 2008 Royal Rumble, Randy Orton reversed the twist of fate into an RKO for the victory.

I liked the old attire that Jeff Hardy was rocking with.

I would've liked him coming out with "No More Words" but it is what it is.

The Hurt Business vs Lucha House Party.

Miscommunications from Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin led to their loss from Lucha House Party. Oh God, are they gonna break up ANOTHER TAG TEAM!?

Drew McIntyre vs Keith Lee For The WWE Championship.

Look, the match was while slow at times, really good.

However, the ending was the exact opposite of really good.

Goldberg came out to CHALLENGE DREW MCINTYRE FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Goldberg competing for the biggest title in professional wrestling in two thousand and f**king twenty one.

"What about AEW? Didn't they just sign Sting?" You ask?

Let me ask you this, Has the company ever put older performers on the main event scene, dismissing their younger talent in the process?

I'll wait.

This tells me that WWE doesn't trust their own talent and instead relies on the old guards to deliver "interesting" materials that WWE gives them.

Also, even if Goldberg was younger, I would still not be interested in this storyline simply because Goldberg has never been interesting as a persona.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The Teddy Long bit, Drew McIntyre vs Keith Lee.

Didn't like: Goldberg challenging Drew for the championship, the entire booking surrounding Shayna Baszler vs Dana Brooke and the Riddle vs Bobby Lashley match.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
