The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: NXT Was Not Good?, Sting And Cody Rhodes Interacted For The First Time Ever.

Before I state whether I prefer AEW Dynamite or NXT, I have to give my quick thoughts on Kenny Omega's promo on the latest edition of Impact Wrestling.

To put it simply, it was fanfreakingtastic. The Omega that I've wanted to see since AEW's inception is finally here.

It looks like Kenny is pulling out a Thanos with him collecting all of the major titles in wrestling with the exception of WWE.

The reason why I'm intrigued by that notion is that Wrestle Talk did a fantasy booking in their news video where the all belt collector, Kenny Omega encounters his final prize aka the IWGP heavyweight championship.

In order to capture that prize, Omega has to face the person he's all too familiar with, Kota Ibushi.

Yes, Kota isn't the current IWGP champ but it's fantasy booking after all so let me dream about this scenario for hours, okay!?

Oh, and that mock local TV advertisement from Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone was pretty hilarious.

Now, how were both shows this week?

Well, WWE's yellow brand delivered at best, a meh show and at worst, a boring a** show.

Look, AEW Dynamite wasn't fantastic but there were things that I enjoyed from that program more than NXT.

So, I gotta go with the elite brand.

NXT

Highlights.

Raquel Gonzalez vs Ember Moon.

This is Gonzalez's best match in NXT so far?

The ending of this match was great due to the way Ember got out of Raquel's finisher only for Raquel to catch Ember's leg and hit the finish.

Then, Raquel Gonzalez and Rhea Ripley had a staredown in what it feels like the millionth time.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Finn Balor Called Out Anybody To Face Him - The person that answered the call was Pete Dunne but somebody else answered the call and it was Kylie O'Reilly.

Somebody else answered the call and it was Damian Priest.

Somebody else answered the call and it was Scarlett Bordeaux representing Karrion Kross.

You know this by now, it was the "superstars showing up to the champion" cliche which out of all the wrestling cliches, this one is the most uncreative in my opinion.

Jake Atlas defeated Isiah Swerve Scott - The match while short, was decent. Swerve Scott left Atlas hanging because of the way Swerve Scott lost the match.

What's with NXT and sudden tease at heel turns?

Grizzled Young Veterans defeated Ever-Rise and Imperium - I swear to God, NXT's tag team has no buzz now like what happened to that division? This bout was painfully average.

Ember Moon And Io Shirai Gave Toni Storm A Beating - So, I'm confused. Why's Io Shirai facing Toni Storm?

Isn't Io supposed to start her feud with Raquel Gonzalez given that Gonzalez pinned Io at WarGames?

Tommaso Ciampa defeated Timothy Thatcher - Timothy Thatcher was sitting on the entrance ramp throughout the entire match.

The feud continues and I do not care about it?

By the way, Thatcher snapped Cameron Grimes' knee like it was nothing. Daaaamn!

Johnny Gargano Celebrates His North American Championship Victory - Side note, Austin Theory has been in three different groups this year.

First, he joined Zelina Vega's group with Angel Garza and Andrade. Then, he joined Seth Rollins' Monday Night messiah group alongside Murphy.

Now, he joined Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae's group.

That dude is in a desperate need of a good mentor.

Damian Priest showed up, and Karrion Kross attacked him.

It seemed like Priest had moved on with Johnny Gargano and now, he wants revenge? Huh?

Pete Dunne defeated Killian Dain - Cool.

AEW

Highlights.

Sting And Cody Rhodes Interacted For The First Time Ever.

Sting acknowledging Tony Schiavone by having Schiavone shout "IT'S STINNNG" was pretty cool.

I gotta ask since Cody Rhodes looked annoyed at Sting's presence, is Rhodes going to turn to the dark side?

Either way, I actually liked this segment which is kind of odd for me because I do not want to see Sting wrestle again but who knows?

My mind could change like the fickle wrestling fan that I am.

An Abadon Showcase.

This is my first time seeing Abadon and God, I hope AEW doesn't mess her up because she is really good.

I liked how Hikaru Shida was afraid of Abadon's presence.

Stuff like that builds a character (no sh*t, Omar).

Miro Out Here Destroying Sh*t.

Finally! Miro is actually booked on Dynamite looking like a God Damn BEAST!

He was the reason why Orange Cassidy lost the match and MJF won the diamond ring.

I wish that the diamond ring actually has some benefits like a championship opportunity or better yet, run a Dynamite episode like a general manager for one night.

"It is what it is" as they say, right?

Some Other Things That Happened.

The Young Bucks defeated The Hybrid2 in Jack Evans and Angelico - A decent way to start off this episode.

FTR defeated The Varsity Blondes In Griff Garrison And Brian Pillman Jr. - Garrison and Pillman Jr held themselves pretty well in this tag team bout.

Dustin Rhodes defeated Seven Of the Dark Order - After the match, Evil Uno offered Rhodes to join the Dark Order and Rhodes, of course, refused. Cool?

That Shaquille O'Neal And Brandi Rhodes Interview With Tony Schiavone - Am I the only one that doesn't care about this storyline? Just me?

Did The Inner Circle Got Along Or Did The Inner Circle Disband Forever - The answer is they didn't disband (duh?).

While I thought this segment was fine, I'm still intrigued as to where this storyline leads which is weird because it involves a character (MJF) that I'm not a fan of.

Lance Archer And The Lucha Brothers lost to Eddie Kingston, The Butcher And The Blade - A match consisted of two heel teams that didn't wow me in my opinion but it was fine for what it was.

Kenny Omega's First Appearance In AEW As its Major Champion - Omega and Don Callis' promo was a rehash of their promo at Impact Wrestling so it was nothing to write home about.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The White Rabbit In The Room.

I haven't reviewed last year's show mainly because it was so good and clearly as extreme as any ECW match and I'm happy to tell all 3 of y'all that this one is better by several inches or so. Why? *slaps my bald head* HERE'S WHY. The opening match between Sheamus and Gunther's crew ruled harder than the Mongolian empire.  It was basically an enhanced version of Sheamus' match with Gunther last night on Smackdown and I loved it.  The Brawling Brutes' victory means one thing that is clearly obvious, a rematch between Sheamus and Gunther for the intercontinental championship aka the only series of rematches I don't mind.  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan delivered in what was a wrestling match equivalent to the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie.  While Bianca Belair and Bayley had their equivalent to the first Iron Man movie in that it was decent.  Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had an okay edition of the "Meaty men slapping meat".  That spear from Edge to...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...
