WWE Smackdown 6/11/20 | A Coherent Review.

Who was cringing real hard every time Michael Cole said that Survivor Series is the "only time of the year" where RAW faces Smackdown head to head?

Anywho, the episode was actually decent but there were moments where the show did drag on a bit.

Sasha Banks vs Bayley For The SmackDown Women's Championship.

The blue brand kicked things off with a match that I thought would've ended the show, to be honest.

During the championship bout, Bayley used her legs to throw Banks on to the ring apron. Oh my God, that was brutal to watch.

Minutes later, The boss replied that with a beautiful crossbody from the ring apron on to Bayley.

The match ended with a banks statement and just like that, Sasha has retained a championship for the very first time.

This might be unpopular but I enjoyed this encounter more than their Hell In A Cell match.

Don't get it twisted though, I loved the Hell In A Cell match.

Post-match saw the returning Carmella taking out the champion. Gotta love it. First, she's a heel once again and now her outfit is inspired by the ICON herself, KELLY KELLY!?

Jey Uso was offended because Jey thinks that Kevin Owens believes that Jey's family is a joke.

After that, Jey spoke with Kayla Braxton for an interview.

He pretty much stated that family is forever and it wasn't personal regarding his attack on DB last week.

Paul Heyman told Jey that Roman didn't authorise Jey being interviewed by Kalya to which Roman himself told Heyman to call Adam Pearce so that the tribal chief can handle the KO problem.

I appreciate the fact that Jey cares about his family more than friendships and championships.  It just feels like it's a big deal and it should be a big deal because the story is about family.

Rey Mysterio vs King Corbin. Survivor Series Team Qualifying Match.

Before the match took place, Rey was attacked by King Corbin after Rey said to his son Dominik to check on Aalyah.

The match itself was okay. Seth Rollins just showed up because??

Thanks to some Mysterio family shenanigans, Corbin took Rey's distraction as an opportunity to hit the end of days and won the match to qualify for the Men's Smackdown Survivor Series team.

Why's Seth still pissing off the Mysterio family? What does The Messiah character gain from this?

Can it just, you know, END?

Natalya vs Zelina Vega vs Ruby Riott. Women's Smackdown's Survivor Series Team Qualifying Match.

Ruby Riott picked up the win in an underwhelming match with a crossface.

Big E had an awkward verbal interaction with The Street Profits.

Then, Billie Kay gave her resume to The Street Profits and the tag team champs slowly walked away.

That last part with Billie Kay giving out her body of work was funny.

If done right, she could be the best thing about WWE with that resume bit.

Seth Rollins vs Otis. Men's Smackdown Survivor Series Team Qualifying Match.

Murphy showed up and distracted Otis for Seth to win the match.

Murphy then told Seth Rollins that Seth the messiah while Murphy is the disciple.

Aalyah was mad at him saying that she defending him against her family's will.

The disciple said to her that he knows what he's doing.

All she has to do is to trust him. Coooooooooooooooooooooool.

Lars Sullivan had another sit-down interview.

This time it was with Michael Cole and he noted that he hates bullies and he can do whatever he wants to them.

Lars shouting was probably the funniest thing I've seen all day and I do not think it was the creative team’s intention.

Jey Uso vs Kevin Owens.

Owens was distracted by Roman Reigns' music and Jey Uso used his head to hit Owens right on the balls.

Jey then nailed the superkick and the Uso splash to win the match.

The match was decent and as I mentioned earlier, I liked Jey's commitment to his family.

This is a type of storyline that we've not really seen on WWE TV. WWE did a great job on making this as special and unique as possible.

Based on the reports going around, it looks like we're getting a Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan feud and I. Can. not. Wait.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Jey's new commitment to the family, Billie Kay in that backstage segment with The Street Profits, Bayley vs Sasha Banks, Carmella's return.

Didn't like: The entire Mysterio family Seth Rollins Murphy saga, Lars Sullivan interview was laughably bad, Natalya vs Ruby Riott vs Zelina Vega.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
