The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: A Mediocre Episode Of AEW Dynamite, New North American Champion.

AEW Dynamite got a sight new look. The question is, did it help in making the show better than NXT this week?

Nah. AEW Dynamite wasn't good in my opinion and so was NXT, for the most part. In other words, I pick neither show.

NXT

Highlights.

Santos Escobar vs Jake Atlas For The Cruiserweight Championship.

Holy crap, what a match.

Atlas showed some serious aggression in this bout.

Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to capture the cruiserweight due to a modified death valley driver of some sort from Santos Escobar.

Io Shirai And Rhea Ripley Prime Target.

This video promo was, to no one's surprise, fantastic.

Loved the connection NXT made between this feud, that triple threat match at NXT Takeover: In Your House and Rhea's big L against Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania.

The championship bout is happening next week and it should be a good encounter.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Johnny Gargano Issued An Open Challenge By Spinning His Wheel - The person that the wheel pointed to was Leon Ruff. If you've been watching the program for quite some time, you know what happens next?

Leon Ruff won and became the new North American champion thanks to a distraction by Damian Priest (sarcasm overload).

I would've not mind this if Damian Priest was in Johnny's shoes and not the other way around because Johnny just became North American champion.

It feels like yesterday when Damian Priest became North American champion so it doesn't make the title look good if I'm being real.

Raquel Gonzalez Doesn't Have A Match With Xia Li - Boa gave Raquel that news to which she replied with a beating.

Some older gentleman then gave Boa a letter while the entire place was filled with dragon imagery as well as some red lighting.

My curiosity has now peaked.

Candice LeRae Defeated Toni Storm - After the match, Toni was attacked by that person with a scream mask.

Shotzi Blackheart couldn't save Storm and then, the mysterious figure was revealed as Indi Hartwell. Ooh, I'm so surprised *sarcasm of course*.

Timothy Thatcher Defeated Timothy Due To A Distraction By Cameron Grimes -  Cameron Grimes then relentlessly attacked Lumis in a post-match beatdown. The match itself was okay.

Oney Lorcan And Danny Burch Retained the Championship Against Breezango - Before the match, Pat McAfee was trolling the universe once again which I can't stop loving this heel role from Party McAfee, to be honest.

After the match though, Drake Maverick ain't done with McAfee's Posse as chaos ensued. However, the bad guys stood tall and that's how the show ended.

It looks like we might get to see an 8 man tag match between Drake Maverick, Killian Dain and Breezango vs McAfee's Posse.

At least, that's what the direction looks like for me.

AEW

Highlights.

Penta El Zero Miedo vs Rey Fenix.

By far, the BEST thing about this mediocre of an episode bruh.

A breath of fresh that was desperately needed for this week's program.

However, I thought Eddie Kingston telling Penta to reject his own brother, Rey Fenix when he himself told Penta to not fight with Rey a few weeks back, made no sense to me.

Oh, and Pac has returned and had a bit of altercation with Eddie Kingston in case y'all were wondering.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Brian Cage Defeated Matt Sydal - Taz wasn't having it with Darby Allin before the opening bout took place. The bout itself was decent though.

Who Is Jade Cargill? - All we saw is that she represents Shaq aka Shaquille O'Neal. Jade then literally teased a feud between Cody and Shaquille O'Neal.

After a verbal smacking from Brandi Rhodes to Jade, FTW took this entire segment as an opportunity to attack Cody.

Thankfully for the prince of pro wrestling, he was saved by Darby Allin and Willy Hobbs.

Cody vs Shaq? Pass!

Dustin Rhodes And QT Marshall Defeated The BB aka the Butcher And The Blade In A Bunkhouse Match - This is the slowest and the most boring N

No DQ match I've seen in quite some time.

Inner Inducts MJF And Wardlow To The Inner Circle - MJF's "wrote a poem" which he stole from a Drake song "All Me". Not gonna lie, I do not blame him because it's a great song.

Anyways, to celebrate this day, he not only sang "happy birthday" to Chris Jericho (because he isn't in the key dem…… I mean it's his birthday).

But, he also bought tickets for his Inner Circle buddies to Las Vegas.

I'm smelling a turn from MJF and it's pretty strong (no sh*t, Omar).

Shawn Spears Defeated Scorpio Sky Due To A Small Steel Object Used - Cool.

Tay Conti Defeated Red Velvet - Throughout this match, Anna Jay wanted Tay to pretty much join the stable that is the Dark Order. Will that happen? Who knows but will see.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, I gotta get some sleep so stay safe smarks.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
