The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: A Disappointing AEW TNT Championship Match, Ember Moon's Impressive Match In 14 Months.

Did you know, The latest episode of AEW Dynamite featured a Japanese deathmatch legend, Luther in the main event?

I bet your mind was blown. All lame jokes aside, I thought both episodes were pretty strong overall.

Because of it, for the first time (at least that I can remember), I'm giving NXT and AEW Dynamite a tie instead of which show I prefer this week.

NXT

Highlights.

Drake Maverick And Killian Dain vs Ever-Rise.

The reason why I like this is not because of the quality of the match but rather the storytelling with Drake Maverick And Killian Dain.

When they came out with that theme song made me lol not gonna lie.

The duo somehow won the match despite the clear miscommunication.

Maverick brought in a sense of sweetness in this storyline that it honestly makes me want to see him and Dain fully embrace their partnership.

Rhea Ripley And Ember Moon vs Dakota Kai And Raquel Gonzalez.

Ember Moon got a brand new theme song to match with her new persona and you know what? I like it.

She was THE highlight of the match. Ember and Ripley won the tag match thanks to Ember's Eclipse.

Ember didn't miss a single beat.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Tommaso Ciampa vs Kushida - A hard-hitting action full of kicks, headbutts and punches. What a way to kick off the show (ha, GET IT?).

The match ended via a DQ due to Velveteen Dream accidentally kicking Tommaso Ciampa.

I would've put that match in the highlights section if that ending didn't happen.

The Kushida and *ugh* Velveteen Dream had a solid conclusion so why continue?

Io Shirai Stands In The Ring While Ember Moon And Ripley Brawls With Dakota Kai And Raquel Gonzalez - Ember's promo before this was not good and it is her weakest aspect.

In a backstage interview, Shirai said that the reason why she didn't go out to help Moon and Ripley is that it isn't her problem.

I appreciate the honesty of Io.

Johnny Gargano And Candice LeRae Got A Free UHD TV From Indi Hartwell - Not a fan of the power couple but that was nice of Indi to buy a television.

Also, Indi Hartwell left in a USB.

In that USB, there was a video in which it highlights the number of times that Indi Hartwell saved Candice in the number one contender’s battle royal match.

Hmmm?

*ugh* Austin Theory vs Leon Ruff - Austin went on the say that he's the future of NXT after he defeated Leon Ruff.

Out came Dexter Lumis and that led to an impromptu match in which Lumis won.

Cameron Grimes hit a double stomp from outta nowhere. I'm a bit intrigued.

I like both Lumis and Grimes so we will see.

Ridge Holland Defeated Danny Burch - Holland further attacked Burch to which Oney Lorcan made the save and both Lorcan and Holland went back and forth.

Is it just me or is it that the fight between Lorcan and Burch reminded me of when Brock Lesnar feuded with the Hardy Boyz?

Apparently, Ridge Holland was injured from that brawl and I hope nothing but a speedy recovery.

Shotzi Blackheart Defeated Xia Li In A Short Bout - Boa gave Li a letter and they left the ring together. Yet another tease at a full-fledged heel turn for the Chongquing, China native.

AEW

Highlights.

Brian Cage vs Will Hobbs For The FTW Championship.

Compared to the opening match between Kushida and Tommaso Ciampa, this one had a far better ending.

What's similar about both matches, however, is that it's good.

After Cage defeated Will Hobbs, Taz offered Hobbs to join the FTW crew to which Darby Allin showed up and both Cage and Starks slowly left the ring.

Keep in mind, Will didn't answer whether he accepts Taz's offer or not.

The Ending Of AEW Dynamite This Week.

Jericho and Hager won the match defeating the JDML (stands for Japanese deathmatch legend) Luther and Serpentico.

Then, MJF came out to give Jericho a surprise. That surprise is a clown and a framed picture of himself.

Chris then attacked the clown and told MJF to not interrupt him again. However, It was all a swerve and the credits rolled like how a sitcom would end.

That ending was pretty funny, not gonna lie. It was something that I didn't expect to see on pro wrestling television.

Gotta give AEW kudos for a unique take to end an episode.

Some Other Things That Happened.

FTR Retained The AEW World Tag Team Championship - The Young Bucks superkicked the camera person.

But then, Best Friends came out to call FTR a bunch of weenies and challenged them to a tag team title match next week at their anniversary show.

Should be a fun match.

Celebrities And Wrestling Legends Gave Their Shout Out To Chris Jericho's 30th Anniversary - For some reason, I marked out when I saw Chris Jericho's father, Ted Irvine in the series of shout out videos.

Cody Is The New AEW TNT Championship - In my opinion, Cody win undermines the beating he took from Brodie Lee a month ago.

I feel like Cody losing would've been more interesting in the sense that it asks more questions as to where Cody goes from his loss, ya know?

The match itself had way too many slow movements for me. As a whole, I'm disappointed.

Oh, and Orange Cassidy is facing Cody for the belt next week.

Big Swole Defeated The Veteran, Serena Deeb - This was a decent women's match actually.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, I gotta get some sleep so stay safe smarks.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
