Who Came Up With The Finish For The IC Title Triple Threat Match?

Talking about this gem of a match for the second time in this series because why not, right?

Remember the brilliant ending where Sami Zayn handcuffed Styles' hand and Jeff Hardy's ear to climb the ladder and grab the title?

Well, the interviewer over at Metro UK asked the interviewee, Sami Zayn about that finish and who came up with that idea:

"I wish I could take all the credit for that, but actually Jamie Noble’s a real genius,’ Sami said. ‘He doesn’t get the credit he deserves."

I don't blame Zayn for positively talking about this match due to the fact that it was simply a fantastic bout.

And, if you want to know more about my thoughts on the match as well as the entire Clash Of Champions 2020 show then click here.

WWE Reportedly Still Planning On Scheduling A Drew McIntyre Vs Tyson Fury Bout.

Speaking of something I've talked about previously.

Last week, Inside The Ropes, published an article about WWE supposed to headline a show in the UK with Drew McIntyre and Tyson Fury main eventing it.

However, that obviously didn't happen because of the pandemic.

In the latest edition of Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter (from Cagesideseats), the possibility of the Drew McIntyre vs Tyson Fury encounter is there "at a future time".

Like I said on the previous 5 News Week article, WWE having a main roster UK PPV would be cool but it's another example of how the pandemic has made folks change plans.

RAW Underground Done For Now!?

We're rewinding the timeline like Barry Allen back to early September where Fightful select and Sean Ross Sapp reported that the upcoming RAW Underground segments were cut.

At the time Fightful didn't know why that is. Now, fast forward to a few weeks later where Fightful select got their answer.

The reason being is that the company is short of talent because of the Covid outbreak.

The segments weren't filmed and as a result, the segment was "deemed unnecessary".

As of a few days ago, we got an update about the RAW Underground situation from none other than Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (from WrestlingInc).

In it, Meltzer stated that RAW Underground is "considered done" for now.

It was originally due to the fear of the extras being exposed to the virus because like Fightful select mentioned, they had an outbreak.

But now, that reason isn't the case anymore.

While all the RAW Underground crew is ready to go, WWE isn't going to produce the segments.

The 2020 WWE Draft, in particular, made it harder to fit those segments in.

Just when RAW Underground is slowly growing on me, WWE just stopped doing them.

I do understand the reasons for not continuing. They had to protect their performers.

It's almost a month since RAW Underground last aired and damn, don't we all lose a track of time as of late.

WWE Live Events Not Coming Back Till 2022?

WrestleVotes has heard that the "typical weekly live event" schedule ain't coming back till 2022.

That is interesting because, on the September 13th edition of The 5 News Week, I wrote about an exclusive article from WrestlingInc where WWE is letting go of people from the live events department.

What's odd about all of this is that there are reports going around that WWE is planning to start touring again.

Now, the reports of WWE planning on going back to the road dates back to earlier this summer.

WWE made the right decision to stick with the Thunderdome for at least a month (from PWInsider).

And it should stay that way until the pandemic is behind us to where they can start touring once more.

The Latest Trademarks Being Filed By WWE.

The October 9th trademarks being filed by world wrestling entertainment are fine and all but the last one is interesting.

  • Ashante Adonis
  • Desmond Troy
  • Skull King
  • Flash Morgan Webster
  • Ilja Dragunov
  • Isla Dawn
  • Jack Starz
  • WWE Saturday Morning Slam.

Yes, THAT Saturday Morning Slam that aired on the CW Network back in 2012.

Did you know that Mick Foley was the general manager of Saturday Morning Slam?

Are they bringing it back or not? Will see.

Here's what the trademark reads:

"IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment."

This was going to be the end of this last news bit until Fightful posted an article yesterday about another set of trademarks being filed on October 13th:

Jinny.

Johnny Saint.

Joseph Conners.

Kenny Williams.

Levi Muir.

Dominick.

Dominick as in Mysterio or Djakovic? Who knows but that is all for the trademarks.

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy? Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
