Georgia Championship Wrestling Is Coming Back??

Post Wrestling and my man Andrew Thompson, reported that the promotion that is known for showcasing legends like Macho Man Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, Rick Martel back in the territory days, is coming back on October 3rd.

The piece goes on to state that the October 3rd event isn't too far off from their next event due to the fact that they're planning to revive the GCW entity.

Thompson spoke with one of the executives of GCW, Chris Nelms.

Nelms' goal for GCW is to present it as a "territory style group" on top of working with 4 to 5 different promotions in the Georgia area "under the Georgia Championship Wrestling banner".

The promotion is supposedly going to broadcast their shows on boomerville *stutters once* I mean Facebook or possibly on local television.

I'm a young fellow so I don't know how to react to this news whether it's the feeling of excitement or anger.

I'm sure the old souls might get a kick out of this since it looks like they’re targeting that specific audience.

I'm also curious about how they'll differ between their programming and NWA Powerr.

Is GCW going to bring back the old stage set, the old belts or not?

Will have to wait and see.

Triple H On Kyle O'Reilly Being In The Main Event Conversation For Awhile.

Triple H was in the media call before NXT Takeover: 31.

During the conference, Triple H was asked by Kelly Wells of PWTorch about Kylie O'Reilly as a challenger for the NXT championship and how it was actually in the works for a while (Transcript from Fightful):

"That’s been something we’ve been talking about doing for a while and in the works. If you were to ask me, did it speed up the process, probably."

"He’s such a great performer and it’s not to take away from him in a tag team, but he’s such a great performer and is naturally charismatic.

He’s funny, he’s all those things that you’ve seen doing what’s he’s doing, but I think people will see that at a completely different level and I’m excited for him. He’s excited for that opportunity."

Kylie O'Reilly is somebody that has singles' star potential written all over him since day one and that face to face confrontation this week on NXT proved that to be the case.

Quick NXT Takeover: 31 Predictions.

Sticking to the NXT theme one last time, I decided to write down some NXT Takeover: 31 quick predictions because why not, right?

My picks are highlighted in bold letters:

Finn Balor vs Kylie O'Reilly For The NXT Championship.

Damian Priest vs Johnny Gargano For The North American Championship.

Io Shirai vs Candice LeRae For The NXT Women's Championship.

*Major sigh* Velveteen Dream vs Kushida.

Santos Escobar vs Isiah Swerve Scott For The NXT Cruiserweight Championship.

Sami Zayn Stated That The Triple Threat Intercontinental Championship Match Was One Of His Favourites.

Last Sunday, Clash Of Champions happened and it was decent.

Something that was more than decent was the triple threat ladder match for the Intercontinental championship that opened the show.

And the current Intercontinental champion, Sami Zayn, felt the same way. Here's what he said about it on the tweets:

I appreciate Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles and Sami Zayn for an outstanding ladder match.

Definitely a match of the year contender if I'm being honest.

Smackdown Isn't Going To Be Televised On October 23rd?

In the FOX TV schedule for October, Smackdown isn't on the list for October 23rd and instead, the MLB World Series Game 3 will air on that date.

It's definitely going to air on FS1 just like last year due to, you guessed it, the MLB World Series.

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy? Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

WWE Wrestlemania 26 | A Coherent Review.

I've teased a mystery review on my Facebook page (which you can click here to follow us) and that mystery has now been unveiled. It's Wrestlemania 26. This review was delayed and was supposed to be up last Monday but at least is now up. Also, The first draft of this review was 7 pages long so strap in. By far, the longest review on this very website.  I thought it would be fitting to review a Wrestlemania from a decade back and how do I feel about it? It was a show that if you watched it, you're most likely going to have a good time. It was a mix of great things but terrible things at the same time as most shows.  The 26th edition of Wrestlemania took place in the University of Phoenix Stadium in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona on March 28th, 2010.  The commentators were Micheal Cole, Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker. Honestly, Striker was pretty good and a far better colour commentator than Lawler was on this show (even today, Lawler is still bleh on commen...

WWE SummerSlam 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Did the SummerSlam 2019 edition deliver or did it underperformed? I would say it did deliver but it wasn't a home run. It was a good show with one unforgettable SummerSlam moment which I will get to.  You guys know where I'm going with this, I haven't seen the pre-show matches for reasons I've stated many times in my wrestling reviews but if you're new, I was asleep during Summerslam because it aired at 2am my time so yeah. Now, on with the review.  Becky Lynch vs Natalya for the RAW Women's Championship.  I know it's minor but holy crap, pyro is back and probably not for long. It wasn't that long ago that the RAW and SmackDown women's championships were the main event at a big PPV and now one of those titles is opening WWE's second-biggest PPV of the year. Not that I have a problem with that but rather it's interesting to bring up.  Anywho, the match itself did deliver from a technical wrestling geek's perspective. Natalya ab...
