WWE RAW 7/9/20 | A Coherent Review.

WWE Monday Night RAW: Cobertura y resultados del 7 de septiembre de 2020

Last week, I was looking forward to this week's edition of Monday Night RAW 9
because they were trying some different things.

The latest episode really disappointed me for one reason.

It just felt uneventful.

Overall, not the best effort for the red brand.

Because of how skippable this program was, I am not going to talk about everything that happened but rather mention two interesting aspects.

Cedric Alexander Is Part Of The Hurt Business.

Yes, you read that right.

Cedric Alexander basically turned heel by aligning himself with the Hurt Business.

Despite being in the opposite team with Ricochet and Apollo Crews, he helped the trio of Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP to win a tag team match.

Alexander explained his actions later in the night saying that he shouldn't sacrifice his body for Apollo Crews.

This is by far, the most interesting thing coming out of this show.

They have teased a turn to the dark side from Cedric going back earlier in the summer.

His promo was fine. The motivation made sense but I do think the delivery was a bit off.

I hope he can work on that because I've not seen this side of Alexander ever. Should be interesting.

Also, during the 8 man tag team match between The Viking Raiders, Ricochet, Apollo Crews and the Hurt Business, Ivar got no pun intended, hurt.

Here's the update from WWE (by WrestlingInc):

"During the Eight-Man Tag Team Match on Monday Night Raw, Ivar suffered a cervical injury on a Viking Dive to the floor.

As a precaution, Ivar was transported to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery."

Wishing him nothing but a fast recovery.

Drew Is Back Hitting Claymore Kicks On Randy Orton.

WWE Photo

The show started off with a return of an angry, vengeful WWE champion, Drew McIntyre.

McIntyre kicked Orton's head off not once but twice.

During the Keith Lee and Randy Orton match, Drew interfered in the encounter ending the match with a disqualification.

This was an example of lazy writing because the booking of this finish was the exact same as the Keith Lee vs Randy Orton bout on the RAW after SummerSlam.

Unless they're writing a narrative where Keith Lee doesn't like the fact that McIntyre is interfering in his matches with the viper.

Some other things that happened on this show like:
  • The arrival of the Smackdown tag team champions because remember, the brand to brand invitation is still a thing apparently.
  • Street Profits vs Angel Garza and Andrade…………. AGAIN!
  • A meh RAW Underground.
  • A women's tag match that I don't really care for.
  • Billie Kay facing her now-former teammate, Peyton Royce to a match in the most monotonous of ways.
  • A Retribution promo as well as a 24/7 championship segment that I ABSOLUTELY do not care about.
  • Rey and his family nailed a series of kendo stick shots on Murphy after Dominik had a good match with the disciple.

So, here's the recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: Cedric's heel turn, Dominik vs Murphy.

Didn't like: the booking for the Keith Lee vs Randy Orton match, overall an uneventful show.

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
