WWE RAW 31/8/20 | A Coherent Review.

Now, that feels like a RAW after SummerSlam.

This week, the red brand simply delivered. This was a solid show overall.

Randy Orton Thinks That Drew Deserves That Beating Last Week.

WWE Photo

The legend killer started off this program saying that he shouldn't face Kevin Owens in order to compete for the WWE title.

But, he'll win the match anyway because he's dangerous.

Orton then showed us the faces of the people he hit with the punt kick photoshopped in the people's faces laying on the hospital bed.

That was gold.

WWE Photo

Keith Lee interrupted the viper and he reminded Randy that he defeated him last night.

Dolph Ziggler attacked Keith from behind and that led to the first number one contender’s match of the evening.

I thought Lee's delivery could've been better but nevertheless, this was a decent segment thanks to Randy's promo.

If you like Ziggler selling his butt off like it's 2011, this match is definitely for you.

The dude could make a broomstick look great. That's how damn good the show off is.

Would you be surprised that he sold that spirit bomb from Lee like a champ?

Lee is the first person in the triple threat number one contender’s match. One down, two to go.

The brand new tag team champions had a verbal interaction with Asuka.

Meanwhile, Adam Pearce told security to be in high alert in case for Retribution.

Who's Asuka's Next Opponent For The RAW Women's Championship?

WWE Photo

That's what Charly Caruso asked and Asuka said that she's ready for anything.

Out came Mickie James and she put her hat in the championship picture.

Natalya and Lana showed up and they mocked Mickie James saying that James can't challenge someone for the championship with a 1998 looking gear.

(James did start her wrestling career in 1999 so close enough?).

A brawl happened which led to a singles match between Lana and Mickie James.

Mickie James vs Lana.

Speaking of which. The match was short yet it was decent.

Mickie picked up an impactful victory with the Mick kick.

I am all for a single’s push for Mickie James. Get that momentum going.

Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens. Winner Takes Part In A Triple Threat In A Number One Contender's Match For The WWE Championship Later In The Night.

Before the match, Orton got out of Aleister Black's locker room.

I say that because, during Owens' entrance, Black brutally attacked him.

Kevin continued with the match but that cost him as he took an RKO to lose this encounter.

The tension between Owens and Black is heating up and you know what? I like this.

In an interview with Charly Caruso, Rey Mysterio verbally puts over Dominik because that's his son, duh?

VIP Lounge. Thunderdome Edition.

This segment was basically leading to a 6 man tag team match between The Hurt Business, The Viking Raiders and Cedric Alexander.

WWE Photo

It was fine. The match itself was nothing too exciting.

Cedric pinned MVP to win the match and MVP didn't let his hurt business beat up Alexander only for that to happen moments later in a backstage beatdown.

Huh? That made no sense.

Riott Squad vs The IIconics. Winner Gets A Women's Tag Team Title Opportunity. Loser Is A Tag Team No More.

WWE Photo

The tag team encounter was okay. Didn't like the fact that The IIconics losing given that the division got no tag teams.

It does kind of support the rumour that Vince is high on Peyton Royce.

Seth Rollins vs Dominik. Winner Takes Part In A Triple Threat In A Number One Contender's Match For The WWE Championship Later In The Night.

WWE Photo

Rollins shouted at Murphy telling him to get the hell out of the ring.

To which Dominik came out, punched Murphy and the match went underway.

This was a damn fun bout. Rollins advances in the triple threat match with the stomp.

The slots are now full. It's Lee, Rollins and Orton (no sh*t, Omar).

It's RAW Underground Time.

WWE Photo

Another week, another edition of RAW Underground.

In it, it showcases Titus O'Neil having an impressive fight with Riddick Moss, the debut of Jessymin Duke and Marina Shafir attacking Billie Kay and a Hurt Business, Cedric, Ricochet and Apollo Crews brawl.

RAW Underground is slowly growing on me.

You got Angelo Dawkins playing as a coach observing Angel Garza, Andrade and Zelina Vega's talents. Cool.

R Truth won back the 24/7 championship for the 39th time in a parking lot. Cool.

The Street Profits vs Angel Garza And Andrade In A Tornado Tag Team Match.

WWE Photo

At the end of the match, Retribution showed up and they attacked The Street Profits as well as Zelina Vega and her clients.

It's interesting to witness that Retribution showed up in a show without Roman Reigns.

I saw people put that opinion out and I thought it was a pure coincidence until I saw this segment.

The fans might be up to something with this.

Angel Garza and that Bachelor star ran away from Retribution. I'm gonna state the obvious, her acting f'ing sucks.

Randy Orton vs Keith Lee vs Seth Rollins. Winner Faces Drew McIntyre For the WWE Championship At Clash Of Champions.

WWE Photo

This was a good main event.

Orton hits the DDT on Seth Rollins and I thought that was it with the way Rollins sold that move but it obviously wasn't.

The match concluded when Lee delivered the spirit bomb but Randy Orton nailed the RKO on Lee.

He then pinned Rollins to face Drew McIntyre for the big gold at Clash Of Champions.

I mean, who really didn't see that win coming, right?

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The main event, RAW Underground slowly growing on me, Rollins vs Dominik, the booking for the Kevin Owens and Randy Orton match.

Didn't like: The Cedric Alexander and Hurt Business booking in hour 1, The IIconics spitting up hurts the women's tag division, the Bachelor star's acting.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
