WWE Smackdown 3/7/20 | A Coherent Review.

Other than the terrible ending, this episode of Smackdown was in my opinion, pretty good. That is all thanks to the in-ring action and if you watched the show then you'll know what I'm talking about.

An In-Ring Interview With Matt Riddle.

WWE Photo

Michael Cole asked him about his run on Smackdown so far and Riddle answered by being grateful for the opportunity to be on the blue brand.

Cole then weirdly asked Riddle why does he wrestle in barefoot (which Michael clearly hasn't seen someone fight in barefoot before *sarcasm*).

Riddle replied saying that the valuable lesson of wrestling in barefoot is that you can lose everything in a moment (don't know what that means but okay).

King Corbin interrupts and the king insults Matt for being an idiot. Corbin further tells Matt Riddle that Riddle should bow down to the king and wants to beat some respect in the new guy.

WWE Photo

Riddle was happy for a fight but Corbin declined that so he brought up John Morrison to do the beating for the king instead aka a match.

While the segment was meh, the opening match was great. Morrison is so good and that encounter with Riddle proved it.

His standing Spanish fly never gets old. But unfortunately, he lost the match with a modified roll up from the new-comer, Matt Riddle.

After the match, Styles blindly attacked the innovator of the bro mission but Riddle was saved by Drew Gulak.

Matt is now feuding with not one but two guys? That's odd but you know what's also odd?

The same person that is accused of being a sexual predator is getting a major program. That's a big Yikes if you ask me.

AJ Styles vs Drew Gulak For The Intercontinental Championship.

Daniel Bryan with that beard that is straight out of his 2012 run with Kane, was putting over Drew Gulak in a series of pre-recorded zoom videos during the match.

Gulak's expertise in technical wrestling hasn't stopped Styles from hitting the styles clash and then the phenomenal forearm to retain the championship. A decent match.

Bayley And Sasha Banks Celebrate Their Reign So Far.

WWE Photo

Bayley wants to refer to Sasha Banks as Sasha three shows and Bayley three brands.

They went to say that they feel disrespected but the only person that gives them the benefit of the doubt is the phenom himself, The Undertaker.

Like Taker, they have a tribute video which was actually good. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross weren't having all that which led to Bliss slapping Bayley and a match between those two women happened. The encounter concluded with a DQ because of Nikki Cross.

I'm not a fan of Nikki's feud with Bayley. It honestly feels underwhelming even though I enjoyed Banks and Bayley as a duo.

I'm just not invested in the feud as much as the Bayley persona if that makes sense?

We got a bit of a preview for the swamp fight between Braun Strowman and "the eater of worlds" Bray Wyatt. It was fine.

Kofi Kingston vs Shinsuke Nakamura.

Another great match of the night courtesy of Nakamura and Kingston. Nakamura takes a big win with a Kinshasa and the dude really needs a win like that.

Hoping that he continues to grab some big wins but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

Sheamus Gives A Toast To Jeff Hardy.

WWE Photo

Jeff wants to get this segment over with (so am I my friend. So am I). Sheamus then appeared via his house and the Celtic Warrior would like for Hardy to face reality but he has a solution and that is giving Jeff a wide variety of alcohol choices.

A personal bartender gave him the alcohol drink however, Jeff attacked that bartender and gave him the Swanton bomb to end this episode of Smackdown.

What a dumpster of a pro wrestling scene, am I right?

That segment didn't do anything to enhance this God awful storyline between Sheamus and Jeff Hardy.

It's a shame because this episode was actually fun as a whole.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Matt Riddle vs John Morrison, Kofi Kingston vs Shinsuke Nakamura.

Didn't like: The end segment, not feeling the Bayley and Nikki Cross feud.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

WWE Smackdown 4/2/22 | A Coherent Review.

Gotta be honest guys, this episode didn't do it for me.  Besides the announcement of Ronda Rousey challenging Charlotte Flair for the blue women's belt at Wrestlemania as well as another challenge proposed by Goldberg aka NoBerg to the tribal chief, this, like last week's show, was as skippable as an anime filler episode.  Paul Heyman Was Like, "F**k That Brock Guy!"  Brock and Paul legit need some counselling because they've broken up and reunited together like my relationship with the Call of Duty franchise. To quote Gordon Ramsey, "DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!"  All lame banter aside, Paul Heyman's promos before Goldberg's appearance was the only good thing throughout the entire show.  As far as how I feel about the idea of Goldberg facing Roman Reigns at the upcoming Elimination Chamber show, major Ls on this one.   Ricochet vs Ridge Holland.  Yay, the "one on one match that later turned into a tag match" cliche. The difference is t...
