WWE Smackdown 17/7/20 | A Coherent Review.

This show was miles better than last week's episode. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it was fantastic however, it was decent and most importantly, WATCHABLE.

The show opened with all the superstars talking about what they're going to do on that episode.

"What does AJ even stand for"? Matt Riddle asks (Allen Jones. It's Allen Jones, Matt).

Big E vs Cesaro. Winner Chooses Either A Tables Match Or A Steel Cage Match For The SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

A main roster show kicked off the episode with a MATCH!? That's rare. This bout was good. I would've liked the match to last just a tiny bit longer but again, a good match nevertheless.

Big E at one point locked in in a modified Brock Lock which is a move that I've not seen in many moons now.

Due to Shinsuke Nakamura's interference, Cesaro nailed the neutralizer to win the match and the winner chose a tables match.

Because of the sheer talent, this tag team title match at Extreme Rules should be good.

King Corbin in an interview with Kalya Braxton, said that Matt Riddle is playing with fire and he's going to get burnt.

A Moment Of Bliss. Special Guest, A Mystery.

WWE Photo

That mystery guest was revealed as an interference from Bayley, Sasha Banks or at least that's what I thought. The guest was the empress herself, Asuka.

Well, that was disappointing like what was a point of a mystery tease? That led to a tag match between the golden role models, Nikki Cross and Asuka and it was fine.

The number one contender of the SmackDown women's championship just got pinned by the champion. Nice *sarcasm of course*.

Firefly Funhouse Time.

Appearing as his "eater of worlds" character (which is one of the most underutilized characters in the history of pro wrestling), Wyatt said that he created the monster among men and how he gave him purpose.

Bray Wyatt shows the swamp that to quote himself, "lights the dark and the devil comes to dance".

Braun Strowman's promo before his match with John Morrison as well as this segment was actually decent. It's a shame that I'm not looking forward to the swamp fight.

Braun Strowman vs John Morrison.

Speaking of which. This was a one-sided encounter. Strowman won the match with the running powerslam.

Naomi vs Lacey Evans.

WWE Photo

Yay, a rematch no one asked for!!!! But hey, At least Lacey Evans is once more a heel, right? Oh, and Evans won the match if you actually cared about the results of a great match that is Naomi vs Lacey Evans.

Jeff Hardy tells Kalya Braxton that he's nervous regarding being in a bar fight but he can't run from it to which Sheamus kicked Hardy's head off. Cool.

Another person that told Kalya Braxton something is Bayley and she said that she has momentum because of mass times the velocity and Bayley’s got the mass (referring to her title belts of course).

Nikki Cross then attacked Bayley from behind but Alexa Bliss separated her. I don't care about this title match, to be honest.

Matt Riddle vs AJ Styles For The Intercontinental Championship.

WWE Photo

By far, the best match of the night. Riddle did a bro to sleep followed by a powerbomb followed by a knee strike. What a sequence.

Styles then delivered a brutal looking brainbuster from the top rope. Riddle locked in the bro mission but Styles got out of it.

Instead, Styles rolled Riddle up with a pin and the phenomenal one retained the championship.

WWE Photo

The champ actually shook Riddle's hand however, it was an ambush as King Corbin attacked Riddle and hit him with the end of days to close off the episode.

Whenever Corbin feuds with someone, it's always an automatic "I don't care about this rivalry".

It's probably due to how uninteresting his storylines have been showcased or maybe how boring his character is.

I'm sure the match between Riddle and Corbin will be good though.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Matt Riddle vs AJ Styles For The Intercontinental Championship, Cesaro vs Big E.

Didn't like: The moment of Bliss, Naomi vs Lacey Evans.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
