WWE RAW 6/7/20 | A Coherent Review.

This episode of RAW actually made me look forward to Extreme Rules and that's something WWE doesn't do all that well in recent years. It was a great effort by the powers that be.

Dolph Ziggler Picks The Stipulation For The WWE Championship At Extreme Rules: The Horror Show.

WWE Photo

McIntyre is waiting for Dolph Ziggler to pick the stipulation for their championship match at Extreme Rules.

Drew got his wish as Dolph Ziggler said that Drew has been stabbing people in the back and that includes the person that Ziggler brought up but not verbally, Heath Slater.

In a very emotional promo, Slater told his former 3MB mate that he was there for Drew McIntyre when Drew was fired from WWE in 2014 but the Scotsmen wasn't there for Slater when he was fired this year.

So, the one-man-band challenged him to a match and the WWE champion accepted. How was the match?

It was a squash bout. Drew wins with the claymore to which Ziggler was picking on Heath and McIntyre made the save.

I can't believe I'm saying this but this meh feud just got interesting. That fantastic opening segment actually enhanced the rivalry. This is by far Heath’s best promo work since his free-agent storyline 4 years back.

Sasha Banks vs Kairi Sane.

WWE Photo

Before the match, Asuka, Bayley and Sasha Banks had a verbal interaction about who's best essentially, the golden role models or Asuka?

The match itself was good. It ended in a DQ because of Bayley after Sane applied a modified cloverleaf of some sort on the blueprint.

WWE Photo

Kairi looked pretty decent in the match which hasn't been in the case in a lot of her matches in several months. The show is starting off prettay, prettay, pretty good.

In a backstage segment, Murphy attacked Aleister Black while Black wore Rey Mysterio's mask.

Meanwhile, Big Show told the Viking Raiders to stop goofing around and get serious in the most awkward way possible.

The Kevin Owens Show. Special Guest, Seth Rollins.

WWE Photo

Instead of the host asking the questions, the guest did and Seth's question was, how's Owens’ leg?

Kevin says that it's fine and gives an observation that Seth hasn't been the same since Owens defeated Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania.

Rollins replied by saying that Owens has been doing nothing while Rollins' is doing something for the greater good of Monday Nights. Despite what Seth said, he offered Kevin to join his cause.

WWE Photo

Oh, and Seth challenged Rey Mysterio to a match at Extreme Rules. Out came Rey Mysterio and he accepted Seth's match offer.

And yes, Aleister Black is down, however, Rey doesn't have to worry regarding a partner for an upcoming tag team match because Owens joins him as his partner.

The winner of that tag match will pick the stipulation of Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins' bout at Extreme Rules.

Damn, what's with this episode and picking stipulations? I thought the match, as well as the segment, was good.

WWE Photo

I'm glad this storyline actually took some time because it could've easily been rushed.

Because the babyface team won the match,  Rey Mysterio's stipulation pick is an eye for an eye.

Now, what in the blue hell is an eye for an eye match?

According to WWE.com, a superstar must "extract" their opponent's eye in order to win the match. So, Kill Bill?

In an interview with Charly Caruso, Asuka and Kairi Sane announced that they'll challenge the golden role models to a tag team title match next week on RAW.

Later in the night, Banks on behalf of Bayley, accepted the challenge.

MVP Reveals The Brand New US Title Design.

WWE Photo

Montel Von Porter verbally puts over the young hungry United States champion, Apollo Crews saying that he shines bright like a SuperNova but it burned badly because Apollo passed the stellar orbit of himself and Bobby Lashley.

Wait, did MVP just made a Marvel comic-book reference with the superhero "Nova", "shining bright" and "orbits"? Just me? Okay.

Montel tells that he'll win the US championship which led to him showing the new US championship design.

WWE Photo

At first glance, it doesn't look great but after seeing it a few more times, it's actually growing on me a bit.

Then, a tag match happened between MVP,  Bobby Lashley, Ricochet and Cedric Alexander. The duo of MVP and Bobby Lashley won the match with the spear on Cedric Alexander.

In a backstage segment, MVP tries to convince Cedric Alexander that Ricochet is using Cedric as his sidekick because Cedric will be sitting in catering watching others be successful.

I like this whole manipulative MVP and the main reason being is that it's simply a character-building for the person that MVP is manipulating.

Billie Kay vs Ruby Riott.

WWE Photo

While the match wasn't good at all, I do like what's potentially leading to which is a Ruby Riott babyface story. Kay defeats Riott with the sitout urinagi.

Randy Orton, Andrade And Angel Garza vs Big Show and The Viking Raiders.

WWE Photo

The miscommunications between Andrade and Garza continues but that immediately led to Randy scolding Garza to get his act together.

Damn, Randy is taking Vega's job already with that excellent negotiation. He should do that to all the idiots that refuse to wear a mask.

The tag match was meh. The bad guys win with an RKO to Erik.

Speaking of the RKO, after Randy's interaction with R Truth, he gave Akira Tozawa the wrong direction regarding where Truth went.

Bayley vs Asuka.

WWE Photo

A decent main event although it is one of those matches where it is a bit challenging on how to end this bout without making both champions look weak ya know.

Did WWE do that? In my opinion, no. Asuka did win this match due to Bayley's distraction from Nikki Cross.

Can't wait for the RAW women's championship. By far, the match I'm looking forward to going into the horror show that is Extreme Rules.

The Smackdown women's championship feud is a different case. It's just not interesting compared to the women's championship over at the red brand.

I will say that Nikki Cross on commentary was great.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The opening segment, Seth Rollins and Murphy vs Rey Mysterio And Kevin Owens, Sasha Banks vs Kairi Sane.

Didn't like: Billie Kay vs Ruby Riott.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
