The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Chris Jericho Got ORANGE JUICED!?, The Most Emotional NXT Opening Segment To Date!?

Both episodes had a strong start but the ending was apples to tomatoes.

I had to think about it long and hard whether I prefer NXT or AEW this week and because of how lame Fight For The Fallen ended, I gotta go with the yellow brand on this one.

NXT

Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).

Keith Lee Walks As A Double Champion.

WWE Photo

The crowd chanted "all bash at his glory" with passion and excitement as the always talented Keith Lee, now holds both the gold in NXT.

He then verbally brings up his late trainer, Tim Brooks and thanked him for being a father figure. Lee also thanked the NXT fans for believing in him since day one.

Lee mentioned that the locker room is hungry for an opportunity to face himself so he gave his so-called "frenemy", Dominic Djakovic an opportunity to face Lee for both the NXT and the North American championship.

I f'ing loved this segment like what a way to kick off this episode, right? Lee's dialogue was spoken with various synonyms of the word, "emotion"

That promo also puts over the NXT roster by telling that the performers are in want for a championship which is why performers are performers in the first place.

I also loved Lee's understanding that the matches with Djakovic are how his momentum started and giving Djakovic the rub was bittersweet.

Keith Lee vs Dominic Djakovic For The NXT And The North American Championship.

I've been glowing about these two guys fighting each since I used to review NXT separately (man, I miss those days) and they DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT.

Djakovic brought his A* game but, unfortunately, The limitless one, Keith Lee caught the guy with the big bang catastrophe and retained the belts.

After the match, Scarlett Bordeaux made her presence and showed Keith Lee the broken time glass that Lee himself broke.

I guess it's Tick Tock for Keith Lee and not Adam Cole bay bay.

Io Shirai vs Tegan Nox For The NXT Women's Championship.

WWE Photo

Just like the Keith Lee and Dominic Djakovic match, They DID NOT. DISAPPOINT.

Shirai at one point, had Tegan Nox land face-first on the ring apron using Nox's legs.

Minutes after that, Io tried to hit Tegan Nox with both knees but Nox reversed it and Io landed her knees on the steel steps.

Somehow with beat-up knees, Io has defeated Nox and is still the NXT women's champion because of it.

When celebrating her win, Dakota Kai kicked Io right in the jaw from outta nowhere. I honestly thought that Io's next feud is Candice LeRae but I was wrong.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Cameron Grimes vs Damian Priest - This was a decent bout. To quote Mauro Ranallo, "revenge is sweet for Damian Priest" because the big guy won the match with the reckoning.

Timothy Thatcher Teaches His Students On How To Lock In The Fujiwara Armbar -  Exactly as it sounds and you know what? It was aight. A character building for the submission specialist.

Shotzi Blackheart vs Indi Hartwell - Tom Phillips and Beth Phoenix arguing whether it was the right thing for Blackheart to put her mini-tank on Robert Stone's leg is cringeworthy.

Nevertheless, the match was fine. Due to some outside interference by Aliyah and the aforementioned Robert Stone, Indi Hartwell won the match with a boot.

El Legado De La Fantasma Celebrates Their Win Last Week - While it was a decent segment, I really liked their motivation regarding how they want to restore the tradition of Lucha Libre wrestling. That division needs a stable with understandable motivations and they got it.

Timothy Thatcher vs Denzel Dejournette - Denzel's been taking a lot of Ls so you know who wins this bout. Oh, and Oney Lorcan came out and wanted to beat up Thatcher.

AEW

Highlights (we get it, it's subjective).

Cody vs Sonny Kiss For The TNT Championship.

Sonny is one of if not the most underutilized performers on that roster so it's nice to see Sonny get some shine.

The match was good too although I'm a bit surprised that the match opened the match instead of in the middle.

Cody started this match very aggressive and Sonny replied that with some brutal kicks.

But, Sonny's offensive didn't lead him to victory as Cody delivered crossrhodes and retained the championship.

I especially loved Taz's commentary due to the way he puts over the simplest of moves like the Full Nelson submission.

The Lucha Brothers vs FTR.

The team formerly known as the Revival has been delivering fun match after fun match after fun match since their debut on TNT and this one is no exception.

The way the match ended was something we've not seen in many moons.

Cash Wilder ripped off Rey Fenix's mask followed by an inside cradle and that's how FTR picked up the W.

After that, some dissension was built yet again between FTR and Kenny Omega.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Chris Jericho Calls Himself As The Demo-God - Jericho's promo explains why his match with Orange Cassidy won the 18-49 demo in the rating which is the reason he's now known as the "Demo God".

He then teased a rematch but he basically said Nah. Orange Cassidy showed up and he put the thumbs down and down came the freshly squeezed orange juice. I guess the Demo God just got JUICED.

I personally don't mind Chris' new persona as the demo God as it is not only another reinvention for Chris but as well as it creates a heat magnet.

It's as if Chris does know how pissed people can get when it comes to the discussion about ratings and he's capitalizing it at the height of the toxic rating "war" talk.

The Jurassic Express vs The Young Bucks And Kenny Omega - A decent tag team match. Despite the L The Jurassic Express just took, they looked pretty good in this bout.

Omega showed some heel tendencies by beating up Marko Stunt after the encounter. Don't know what they're teasing other than a possible heel turn but I hope it pays off.

The Nightmare Sisters vs MJ Jenkins And Kenzie Paige - I do not watch AEW Dark so I missed the new alliance Brandi Rhodes and Allie just formed.

Oh, and will I tell you that the Nightmare Sisters actually won the match because I clearly didn't expect that, right?

Vickie Guerrero Is Nyla Rose's Manager - Speaking of heat magnet, let me reveal the person known for it, Vickie Guerrero that is.

While Rose's motivation for wanting a manager made sense, the former AEW women's champion certainly doesn't need it because quite frankly, she fits better on her own.

Jon Moxley vs Brian Cage For The AEW World Championship - Not gonna lie, the match was boring and the ending of that bout was worse than that. Taz threw in the towel while Moxley locked in a reverse armbar of some sort (lame).

Darby Allin came out and he attacked Cage with a skateboard. I'm looking forward to an Allin and Cage feud. I just think that the way it was presented was weak.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, I gotta get some sleep so stay safe smarks.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
