WWE Smackdown 5/6/20 | A Coherent Review.

This episode of the blue brand is kind of a mixed bag. While the opening segment wasn't to put simply, not good, the show did end with a fantastic tag team match.

Also, wanna give Nikki Cross a shout out for giving the WWE staff and extras working at the tapings some pizza. A+ class act from Nikki although I hope it isn't pineapple pizza or plain cheese pizza because ugh.

Jeff Hardy Wanted To Get Something Out Of His Chest.

Hardy has some words to say regarding the accident from last week's show and he had a different story.

WWE Photo
The charismatic enigma claimed that he was attacked as soon as he got out of his rental car and the car smelled like alcohol.

The unconscious Hardy was then awake to see himself being arrested not knowing why.

Once Jeff got out of the police station, an eye witness told him that a guy with red hair and beard was in the crime scene.

In other words, Jeff blames Sheamus for what happened to him last week (No sh*t, Omar).

WWE Photo

Speaking of Sheamus, out came the man himself and he tells Jeff Hardy that Hardy never admits to his problems and only points fingers at others.

Hardy wasn't having it and while he boxed Sheamus for a bit, Jeff was immediately taken out by the brogue kick.

Those disgusting taste buds that I had after witnessing the opening segment last week is still there.

Sean Ross Sapp on the SmackDown review brought up a great point that this is pretty much the CM Punk and Jeff Hardy rivalry almost 11 years back and honestly, I agree with him.

WWE has to understand that Hardy's story in the wrestling business is more than just him trying to slay his personal demons.

Otis vs King Corbin.

WWE Photo

Before the match, Otis stole Corbin's crown which the crown has the same prestige as the MTV Movie awards trophy.

The match ended in a DQ because Corbin strikes Otis with a chair but Otis stood tall anyways. Cool.

Punk'd With The Miz And John Morrison. Universal Championship Feud Edition.

I made it. You're welcome.

If you have been watching MTV back in the mid-2000s, then you've heard of this little show called "Punk'd" that was hosted by Ashton Kutcher.

In it, Kutcher and his buddies, plan out a prank for a particular person known in the public eye.

The powers that be, after their version of "Punk'd" called "Swerved" had ended, decided to bring that concept back with a segment that has Miz and Morrison press the buttons this time on a series of pranks being pulled on Braun Strowman like, messing with Strowman's protein shake.

Accidentally had the green slime poured onto Kalya Braxton during an interview and finally, Miz damaging Strowman's car window with a golf club.

Strowman was looking for those two goofballs and once one of the security guards told him that they're in the van, Strowman did what Strowman does, flip the damn vehicle.

That was really, really, really, really lame. Keep in mind that this is the main program for the universal championship.

Sonya Deville vs Lacey Evans.

WWE Photo

Mandy Rose distracted Sonya Deville via a video in the titantron and Evans took that as an advantage to nail the women's right and just like that, Evans is the winner.

I was fooled thinking that the rivalry between Deville and Rose was over but it clearly isn't. Meh.

Daniel Bryan And AJ Styles. Face To Face Confrontation.

WWE Photo

During the segment, Bryan said that his vision for the intercontinental championship is to make the fans look forward to him defending the title so that a fan favourite gets an opportunity to face Bryan.

AJ calls that vision not an opportunity but a "hand out". So, he called out Drew Gulak to get a "hand out" and Gulak took it by spearing the crap outta Styles that led to a decent match.

Gulak returned to WWE with a W on one of the intercontinental championship tournament finalists.

WWE Photo

Not the best decision to have a guy facing for the Intercontinental championship lose like that but it surprisingly didn't bother me and I'm sure this isn't going to be consistent.

The face to face segment though was great mainly due to the fact that in one scene, it describes exactly their motivations as to what the championship means to them.

New Day And Shorty G Aka Chad Gable vs Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura And Mojo Rawley.

WWE Photo

So, this match came about when Mojo was making short jokes on Gable to which Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura attacked Gable from behind but Shorty was saved by The New Day.

Luckily, the good guys win the match with the midnight hour from The New Day. A fine match for what it was.

Alexa Bliss And Nikki Cross vs Bayley And Sasha Banks For The Women's Tag Team Championship.

WWE Photo

A fun main event. Bliss delivered a beautiful sunset flip to a near fall. Despite some miss communications from Bayley and Sasha Banks, they actually became the second-ever 2-time women's tag team champions with a crucifix pin from Sasha Banks to Nikki Cross.

The reports weren't lying that Bayley and Sasha Banks storyline is going to drag on and they've been teasing a break up since I started reviewing WWE shows 2 years ago. Guys, just pull the trigger already!

Also, I guess the feud between The IIconics, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross for the titles is scrapped and It's a shame because I actually liked the story they were telling.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The main event match, the face to face confrontation.

Didn't like: The opening act, Punk'd Miz and Morrison edition.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
