WWE Smackdown 8/5/20 | A Coherent Review.

For several weeks since Wrestlemania, I praised Smackdown on Friday Nights for improving on the overall enjoyment of the show.

This episode ain't it in my opinion. WWE took 4 steps forward and 10 steps back last night. I guess Smackdown is reclaiming the throne of being the current face of the word, "mediocrity".

Mandy Rose vs Sonya Deville.

WWE Photo

The show started off with one of the biggest matches advertised on this show and before the bout took place, Otis was checking on how prepared Rose was for the match while Dolph Ziggler was also checking on an opponent but instead, it was Rose's opponent, Sonya Deville.

This was an all-out fight which is expected for an intense rivalry like this but it ended shortly with a roll-up from Sonya Deville on Mandy for the victory. It looks like a rematch is taking place (no f'ing sh*t, Omar). Will see where this leads.

The New Day And The Lucha House Party vs The Forgotten Sons, The Miz And John Morrison.

WWE Photo

A 6 man tag team match that actually turned out to be one of the best TV matches of the year, no exaggeration.

The heel team won the match with a skull-crushing finale from The Miz to Lince Dorado.

King Corbin in an interview with *Billie Kay's voice* KALYA! , stated his reasons as to why he'll win this year's Money In The Bank ladder match. Cool.

Jeff Hardy Is Back (Where the hell is no more words? I thought It's coming back).

WWE Photo

Nevertheless my pettiness, Renee Young interviewed Jeff Hardy about his highs and lows and Hardy pretty much said that he wants another memorable run for himself.

Out came Sheamus and he tells Jeff that the audience is tired of the suspensions, the no shows, the releases and the wasted second chances even though Sheamus respects the charismatic enigma.

Hardy then called Sheamus "a hater" which led to a brawl between each other but it ended with Jeff standing tall after he nailed a Swanton bomb.

Jeff calling Sheamus "a hater" was one of the most cringeworthy things I've ever heard in a promo. It is something I would hear from the main character in a Disney Channel show after he or she encounters a bully or something. But, at least Sheamus is in a feud like finally. Overall, this was an a-okay segment

Braun Strowman And Bray Wyatt. Face To Face Confrontation.

WWE Photo

Strowman called out Bray to say whatever Bray thinks to his face. Strowman got his answer as Wyatt knew his creation's next move by offering Strowman his black sheep mask which the big man was hesitant on whether to take it or not.

The monster among men came to his senses, decided to not take the black sheep and told him that he'll see Bray this coming Sunday. I liked how it ended where Braun said, "see you on Sunday". It was not only funny but kinda cool.

Sasha Banks And Bayley vs Lacey Evans And Tamina.

WWE Photo

This is the type of match where you're going to forget within a week or even a day. Tamina pinned the champion with a Samoan drop.

Both Dana Brooke and Carmella, like Corbin earlier in the evening, stated their reasons as to why they'll capture the Money In The Bank briefcase after they climb the ladder *coughed once* I mean the corporate ladder.

Daniel Bryan, Drew Gulak And Otis vs King Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura And Cesaro.

WWE Photo

Speaking of forgettable matches. The only difference between this match and the women's tag team match is that it's longer.

The match ended with a deep six from Corbin to Gulak and Gulak was saved from a 3 on 1 beatdown by Daniel Bryan and Otis that turned into a brawl.

While that was happening, Corbin took the ladder, climbed the ladder and was about to grab the briefcase, however, Daniel Bryan and minutes later, Otis stopped that from happening but Corbin got rid of those guys more than once.

And then, he finally climbed the ladder to grab the briefcase and that's how Smackdown concluded. That spot with Bryan and Otis getting thrown out of the ring for a few times by Corbin was so frustrating that it executed in a flavourless taste of an ending.

I was sitting there watching this play out with frustration like, "CAN YOU PLEASE HAVE CORBIN SUCCESSFULLY CLIMB THE LADDER FOR GOD'S SAKE!"

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Miz and Morrison, Forgetting Sons vs The New Day and The Lucha House Party, the ending of the Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt confrontation.

Didn't like: The second 6 man tag match and the *sigh* ending, Jeff Hardy's promo delivery in his segment with Sheamus.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
