The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

WWE : FTR Makes Its AEW Dynamite Debut

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.

From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.

NXT

Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).

Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

WWE Photo

What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.

Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.

I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big task next week and I believe that he will win the whole thing.

Rhea Ripley And Io Shirai vs Charlotte Flair And…..

Chelsea Green. Not gonna lie, I like this pairing. It's something that I've not thought of yet it kinda fits.

That was a test for how Green handles herself in a mark key match like this and she did a good job on holding herself on her own in this tag team match.

Flair locked in the figure eight on Ripley but Io Shirai immediately prevented a possible tap out from Ripley with a double knees strike. The match concluded with a roll-up from Charlotte Flair to Io Shirai using the ropes.

Having one of the number one contenders for a championship match take a pin is lame but the way they executed it wasn't that offensive to me.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Johnny Gargano vs Adrian Alanis - To be fair to Gargano, I would mistakenly pronounce Adrian's last name as "Adrian Adonis"

After Gargano won in this one-sided encounter, Mia Yim and Keith Lee were in the titantron pretty much-making fun of the series of dinner segments that Gargano and Candice LeRae had. I am not grabbed on to this feud so far. It's just not interesting to me.

Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez - As Candice LeRae showed up to ringside and argued with Tegan Nox, Gonzalez with the help of Dakota Kai, used that opportunity to hit a modified powerbomb of some sort to win this match.

Nox is now feuding with two people like NXT, make up your mind on who she's feuding with, will ya?

Adam Cole And William Regal Negotiate With Each Other - Cole wanted The Velveteen Dream to not compete for the NXT championship as long as Adam holds it.

Regal made that proposal as a stipulation for the NXT Championship at In Your House. This should be very interesting.

Tommaso Ciampa vs Leon Ruff - While Scarlett Bordeaux was staring at Ciampa's action in the ring, the psycho killer hit the fairytale ending to win his match. Karrion Kross then tells Ciampa via in the titantron, "Tick Tock". A decent promo.

Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match - This is the "NXT Pit-fight" because there are no ring ropes with no turnbuckle pads of course.

There are no pinfalls but submissions are allowed. So, Thatcher got what he wants, a knockout or tap out fight.

That bout wasn't as good as their first match together a few weeks ago but this was decent. Thatcher won the fight with a sleeper hold that put Riddle to sleep.

AEW

Highlights (we get it, it's subjective).

Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite.

In the 6 man tag match before that big appearance, Hardy didn't bring his usual "Broken" gimmick and instead, he utilized this "High-Voltage" Matt Hardy with his 2009/2010 ring gear.

The Elite guys won the match and then, The Young Bucks were attacked by The BBs or the Butcher and The Blade after Hardy helped Marq Quen to walk because he injured his knee.

The Bucks were saved by Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder or as they're now called, Dash Harwood and Cash Wheeler aka FTR. AEW looked at FTR like, "Hmm, How can we make our already fantastic tag team Division ever greater? Sign The Revival that is."

Britt Baker Thinks That There's A Conspiracy WithIn The Women's Division.

Why does she feel this way? Because she's a role model and Baker believes that the referee, Albery Edwards is behind the conspiracy because she's been there whenever Baker had a concussion, a broken nose.

Before she leaves the stage area, she tells the audience that her leg injury will heal in time for All Out. I'm sad that we're not getting a rematch between Shida and Baker for the championship but that could happen if Hikaru holds on the title until All Out (Did I just answered my own question?).

Hikaru Shida vs Christi Jaynes.

I really, really, really, really,  really, really like this match. Jaynes did a sunset flip from the top rope and when Shida got out of it, Jaynes quickly nailed the roundhouse kick to a near fall.

Shida after hitting two shinning wizards, she did a falcon arrow to win this match. Again, a fun wrestling match.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Brian Cage vs Lee Johnson - A typical squash match. After that match, Taz warns Moxley sitting on commentary that Cage is not a man but rather a machine.

Kip Sabian And Jimmy Havoc vs SCU In Scorpio Sky And Frank Kazarian. Winner Faces The AEW Tag Team Champions For The Title Next Week - A predictable but it was an okay match for what it was. SCU lost the match with a shotgun kick from Sabian into a mic driver from Havoc.

A Battle Royal Number One Contender's Match For The TNT Championship - I liked the promo from Cody earlier about how he's going to deliver the best for the fans in the greatest TV channel in the US.

I thought that MJF would win this whole thing given that he actually pinned Cody at Revolution a few months back but the winner of this was instead his Double Or Nothing 2020 opponent, Jungle Boy.

The dude just took an L this past Saturday and him getting a championship opportunity doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me.

Nevertheless, the TNT championship is something I'm looking forward to as well as the tag team titles match.

The Inner Circle Pep Rally -They may be the losers of the stadium Stampede match but The Inner Circle are having a positive attitude by giving each other some gifts including a "hit me up" mobile given by Jericho himself because you know, he does give people the gift of Jericho.

Chris then called out Mike Tyson and he got his wish because he's been dreaming of beating up Iron Mike.  The reason?

Jericho still holds a grudge of Tyson betraying him in a tag team match against DX on an episode of RAW in 2009.

The show ended with a brawl between The Inner Circle and Tyson's buddies. For a Chris Jericho segment, this was disappointing. I do not care about a Mike Tyson feud in 2020.

This is so 90s with the call back to the Tyson and Steve Austin brawl. Similar to how I feel about the Gargano and Keith Lee feud, I have ZERO intrigue in this rivalry whosoever.

It's a shame that I feel this way because the first half of the segment was actually good and I was about to put it in the highlights section if it wasn't for the second half.

The question is, what are some of the highlights on both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
