The 5 News Week: A Ric Flair Biopic In The Works!?, AEW Has A "Back-up" Plan Unless They Can't Film Shows.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

A Ric Flair Biopic In The Works!?

The 10 Final World Heavyweight Title Reigns In WCW History, Ranked

Movies about notable figures are interesting because the actor is essentially portraying a real-life character and depending on the subject matter, it is surreal to think that moment actually happened in real life.

It's no secret that biopics do get some award buzz and in most cases, they win major categories particularly in the acting side. A biopic that could be interesting is based on a person who goes by the name of Ric Flair.

The nature boy spoke with SiriusXM Busted Open and he specifically mentioned that WWE along with The Rock (assuming it's his production team that's involved) are working a movie about him (from The Score):

"I talked to Dwayne and Dany Garcia ... and Hiram Garcia and they're gonna collaborate, the last time I heard, for all this stuff and make a movie with the WWE (about) me with Sue Levison, who now is with WWE and is doing a fabulous job. Sue's got a great background," Flair said (segment starts around the 33-minute mark). "As soon as everything gets rolling again after that, they'll make that movie. I am looking forward to that because I'll have a lot of input."

A biopic I would like to see happen on the big screen is ECW or Extreme Championship Wrestling.

The reason being is that it not only has made an impact in the industry but as well as influencing WWE's tone within their storylines and creating prototype versions of WWE's most famous personalities like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley. It's a movie with the right script and the right director can be executed greatly.

I wanna end this story with a quick reminder. Just because a movie is announced to be in development, that doesn't mean the movie will happen. It may finish the pre-production side of things but the project might end immediately before they start shooting.

AEW Has A "Back-up" Plan Unless They Can't Film Shows.

AEW Dynamite Results: News And Notes After Jon Moxley Destroys ...

We live in a unique time right now and as such, the biggest entertainment niches among other industries, have pressed the pause button on their upcoming activities except for two companies. WWE and AEW.

From Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Dave Meltzer (from 411mania), All Elite Wrestling has their shows taped from April 8th to the 15th and has a backup plan in case this all goes South.

Wade Keller over at PWtorch (from Cultaholic) mentioned that AEW wrapped a taping before midnight last Thursday in Norcross, GA before the state issued a stay at home order for non-essential business and the company, according to his sources, has quote…

"enough footage taped to create storyline-advancing matches that can fill two hours of weekly TV for TNT every Wednesday night for weeks if not months if necessary."

I'm assuming this is the back-up plan but now, it's been revealed reportedly with a different publication in PWtorch. Unless Dynamite is an hour a week show (which It obviously isn't), I don't actually believe that they have content in the can for months. Maybe a few weeks but like I said, definitely not "months".

Possible Spoiler For The Men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match

This year's Money In The Bank show ain't happening according to WrestleVotes for obvious reasons but the tweet from WrestleVotes before this basically said that WWE are thinking of taking a break after mania weekend which if I'm being honest, will be a good move especially for the talent.

Former WWE Creative Member Freddie Prince Jr. On Getting Burnout In His Behind The Scenes Run With WWE.

Freddie Prinze Jr Only Had Issues With John Cena - WWE GIST

I know the younger fans are reading the title above like "Who?" and the older fans seeing this like "Why do I care about an irrelevant movie star's opinion on his time with WWE?".

However you feel about him, the reason why I picked this story up is that one, it tells yet another interesting story regarding what goes on before they type their ideas into a computer or physically write them.

And two, it's inspiring to see someone who left the industry to take care of his family and his mental health.

Speaking to the Self-helpless podcast, a self-help show with 3 comedians as hosts (interestingly, a fan of the show told the story of his/her therapist recommended the podcast) the former WWE creative member talked about his career from a mental health standpoint.

In that career, he mentioned his tenure with WWE and how he dealt with burnout over there (I mean, why would I pick this story). Here's what he said:

"{Regarding Burnout} For Whatever reason, I go too hard no matter what it is and I burn and they warned me at WWE. Vince {McMahon} even bought me in his office and he said: "hey, you're doing great". All my stories were there pay-per-view at one of these pay-per-views and that's how good a job I was doing for him and I was really making progress and he brought me in his office so I'm thinking to tell me how awesome I am and he's gonna give me like a bonus of sweet cash {the hosts laugh} ya know what I mean?"

He then continues on one of his motivating factors as to why he left WWE:

"And now I'm like because this was a cutthroat job. 90% of the people there hated me. Did not want me there. It took until I left for them to like me you know what I mean? Once they liked me I was like, "Ah-ha, f**k you" {The hosts laugh}. So, I go in and he sits me down and he goes, "{In Freddie's Vince voice} Uh How you doing, Freddie?" I said "I'm good, what's going on? Jim's {Vince's assistant} making me feel like this is a bad meeting" and he goes, "well, it's not good" and so now I'm like "if I get fired, I'm literally gonna go off on this old-timer". He {Vince} goes, "I've seen this a million times" he's like "you're a great young writer" he's like "but you're gonna burn out, I don't want you to. I want you to stick around in the company". I looked up and I said the same thing you guys would say "oh, I'm fine, I'm fine, I got it" and then 4 weeks later I quit".

I create projects for a living (I'm a web designer that's why) and when I try to do more on top of maintaining this website, I get burnout and it's something that requires a week of recovery at least. So, shout out to Freddie Prince Jr. and his honesty in this topic. Highly recommend this listen and I'll embed it below.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
