A good episode from the red brand. This year's road to Wrestlemania doesn't feel like it however, I will give WWE some credit for at least trying to put on a build for us to be intrigued by in a global pandemic right now.
Will see how next week's go home turns put which happens to be a filmed episode.
Brock Lesnar' Advocate Gives The World A Certainty.
Paul Heyman in a promo puts over Drew McIntyre as a fighter but he warns the Scotsmen that Drew cannot beat the beast, Brock Lesnar.
Heyman also said that Lesnar will not only make the beating quick but as well as it is not going to be painless and ends the promo by saying that Drew will be like everybody else once Brock Lesnar defeats Drew McIntyre.
An effective segment to start off this episode and at least, Heyman didn't show a video package after they showed up in the ring so that's a positive right there. But, they did an identical promo video before that segment and it didn't bother me surprisingly.
The powers that be then aired the WWE championship triple threat match at the Royal Rumble 2015 which was an excellent match so witnessing it once again was fun.
AJ Styles Blames Undertaker's Wife For Taker's Downfall.
Styles makes fun of Taker's video with his wife, Michelle McCool to which AJ says that Undertaker wasn't the same since he lost the undefeated streak.
At two weeks from Saturday, AJ wants to bring the deadman in a boneyard match. My prediction about how the stipulation will look like is that it’s probably another version of a buried alive match kinda like when WWE said that it's a no holds barred match, it's just a glorified no DQ match.
Will see how it officially turns out. Could be really goofy like the Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt match at Payback 2017 (which I enjoyed for the trainwreck it was) or it could be fantastic. Who the hell knows?
Ricochet And Cedric Alexander vs Andrade And Angel Garza.
A meh match. Also, that RAW tag team championship match and the Aleister Black vs Bobby Lashley is random af.
I know, there'll be some people countering that saying "wELl, tHaT cHrIs jErichO vS darBy aLlIn mAtCH fOr tHe AEW cHamPionShip wAs rAnDom tOo. SEe, bIaSed." Yeah well, I'm not denying that either.
The heel duo wins with the elbow strike from Andrade to Cedric Alexander. That led to a brawl between The Street Profits and Zelina Vega's clients.
Speaking of the Street Profits, they had a match against Shane Throne and Brandon Vink. Don't know why they broke up TM61 just so for Shane to be another tag team but it is what it is. The RAW tag team champions obviously won so.
Shayna Baszler's Exclusive Interview With Charly Caruso.
Caruso asked Baszler why she bit Becky Lynch last month and Baszler then asked a question of her own on why she loves to destroy stuff? Baszler replied saying that destroying Becky and taking her title breaks the man.
Out came Becky Lynch with a steel chair strike on the submission magician. That promo from Baszler was great. She has certainly got better in the mic and coming from her background, it's rather shocking if that makes sense. That led to a quick squash match from Aleister Black. Cool.
Kevin Owens And Seth Rollins Battle With Words.
Kevin Owens called out Seth Rollins and Owens got his wish. Seth Rollins stated that the performance centre didn't exist when he showed up to WWE and if it wasn't for him, the performance centre, NXT, the women's revolution, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, Undisputed Era would not happen because in his words, he is a God.
I love this segment because WWE went back to Seth Rollins' roots as a delusional influencer in WWE which was an element that was missing for him due to an excessive showcase of 6 man tag matches. Great stuff from both guys.
Yes, I made that. You're welcome. |
WWE aired the second old match of the night in the SmackDown Women's Championship match at Wrestlemania 34 which saw the end of Asuka's undefeated streak.
It was a good match but with an unnecessary win for Charlotte given that she's already an established name at this point. While Asuka somehow recovered from that loss since then, it was one of the most head-scratching decisions being made by WWE.
Anyways, Charly Caruso asked Charlotte about that to which she responds saying that she is all about making history and she's sure that Rhea Ripley wants to do that.
Randy Orton's Actions "Was Out Of Love".
Orton said that winning the intercontinental championship, world heavyweight championship, destroying Mick Foley's so-called "torch" that Mick passed, having the 3 most destructive letters in sports entertainment wasn't handed to him.
He also laughed when Edge called Randy "an entitled brat" and questioned him whether he would take the opportunity to join Triple H's Evolution stable given that Edge is the ultimate opportunist.
The viper ended his dialogue saying that he accepts Edge's last man standing match challenge. Great promo from Randy Orton and a great way to end this show.
So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.
Like: Randy Orton promo, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins segment, Shayna Baszler promo.
Didn't like: Nothing really.
I was supposed to post a review yesterday but for some reason, I overslept. Was is that review about? Well, you have to find out tomorrow.
