The 5 News Week: The Reason For The Undertaker And Dr Disrespect's G-Fuel Commercial Appearance, Quick Elimination Chamber Predictions.
I'm sorry for the week hiatus. I was busy as hell and that took away the time to write a typical 3 to 5-page article weekly but for now, here I am to give you the 5 major or minor news of the week (which was a pretty slow news week). This is the 5 News Week.
It's no secret at this point that world wrestling entertainment loves to be showcased in the mainstream media in any capacity or in this similar case, having one of their biggest upcoming stars, The Undertaker (sarcasm of course) appear alongside one of Twitch's popular streamers, Dr Disrespect in a G-Fuel commercial.
The reason being? From PWINSIDER and Mike Johnson, it was a way for the company to reach the younger audience which if you don't know already, their average audience age is around 50 years old. In the same report, Mike described the entire beef between the streamer and the deadman and I'm gonna simplify it.
This all started when Dr Disrespect randomly showed up on a WWE Now episode back in October of last year saying that he's looking for someone however, months went by to the present day and The Undertaker has taken over one of Dr's stream 2 weeks back thanks to his cybernetic abilities.
This all led to both men having a confrontation all in the sponsorship of a popular beverage specifically for E-Sports, G-Fuel. Speaking of E-Sports, WWE were setting up their own e-sports league even filed two trademarks for the words Superstar Gaming League and WWE SCL back in November which I talked about, by the way, and haven't heard a whistle about it since.
I really liked the video. As a Twitch viewer myself, I don't watch Dr Disrespect but having him interact with The Undertaker could potentially lead to something bigger for WWE in terms of demographics but like anything, I could be wrong.
I'm glad you asked, the title above me. It was Vince Russo, *stutters* I mean Paul Heyman if you believe the report from Paul Davis over at wrestlingnews.co. The report states that both Orton and Edge have given their input in this well crafted and executed storyline. Davis also said quote:
"The idea was to include a lot of real-life events in this story and that played out this week when Orton talked about meeting Edge backstage when his father, Bob Orton, took him to a show in 1999."
Imagine a fan suddenly stopped watching wrestling around the time Edge feuded with Randy a decade ago and now that person started watching again, seeing this feud thinking "damn, they're still fighting?".
Wrestlingnews.co is not the most reliable source in the pro wrestling journalism sphere but I do believe in this news piece given how personal the current rivalry between Edge and Orton (how good was that Orton and Beth Phoenix segment last week on RAW?).
Will see what Edge will say about the attack he took this week on Monday Night RAW.
As I quickly mentioned earlier, This week has been kind of a slow news week so I thought this article would be a great way to air my rapid-fire predictions. The bold letters are my winners:
Daniel Bryan vs Drew Gulak. (Why's this match even happening?).
John Morrison, The Miz vs The Usos vs The New Day vs Lucha House Party vs Heavy Machinery vs Dolph Ziggler And Robert Roode For The SmackDown Tag Team Championship Inside The Elimination Chamber.
The Street Profits vs Seth Rollins (*coughed once* The Monday Night Messiah) And Murphy For The RAW Tag Team Championship.
Andrade vs Humberto Carrillo For The United States Championship.
Aleister Black vs AJ Styles In A No DQ Match.
Braun Strowman vs Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura And Cesaro For The Intercontinental Championship.
Natalya vs Shayna Baszler (so obvious) Asuka vs Sarah Logan vs Liv Morgan (unintentionally rhymed) vs Ruby Riott Inside The Elimination Chamber. Winner Faces The RAW Women's Champion At Wrestlemania.
By the time I post this, the episode has probably aired. The "master" of the Jackhammer (unintentionally rhymed again) is going to be in an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles reprising the character of "DOJ Agnew Lance Hamilton". He first portrayed that character in 2018 with the episode titled "One Of Us". Cool.
To all the Bliss stans, you might see this information as more obvious than how water is wet. To the rest of the fans out there, this is probably new information for you. Alexa Bliss spoke with WWE on Fox about this very topic and here's what she said about the origins of her finishing move (from 411Mania):
“The move itself is a top rope, half twisting, kinda front flip. And it used to be my gymnastics dismount off of the balance beam, and that’s kinda where it came from. The first time I ever tried it was in a crash pad ring. And I remember Lance Storm was helping out at the Performance Center, and he wanted to be the first one to take it. But then our coach made me hit the finish — at least, I wanna say 30 times on Angelo Dawkins. And made him move everywhere in the ring to make sure I could hit it at any point and not hurt anyone. So poor Dawkins took that thing about 20 to 30 times in one day.”
I will always thank her for making the DDT a finisher again.
What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks
