WWE Smackdown 31/1/20 | My Coherent Review.

I said in my Smackdown review a few weeks back that this show is quote "has improved bit by bit as of late but not drastic as I hope it would be."

I don't know what kind of drink I consumed but this episode was the exact opposite of "improved". It was an episode that made me question myself if I actually like wrestling or not.

Will have to tune in next week if the return of "The Dirt Sheets" and a Daniel Bryan live segment convinces me otherwise.

Roman Reigns And King Corbin Have Some Unfinished Business That Frustrates Fans (Like Moi).

WWE Photo
The heading above sounds like a Kayfabe news article but it was not my fellow wrestling fans.

Roman Reigns and The Usos opened about the big dog's win at Royal Rumble to which King Corbin and his gang challenged him to a 6 man tag team match and Reigns accepts but adds a stipulation that the loser of the match eats dog food.

This reminds me of when you're friend challenges you to a video game and the person that takes the L eats something disgusting.

That was an equivalent to it but the difference is that I'm consuming a television show that is written and produced by professionals and the idea of the loser eating dog food screams amateur to me.

John Morrison And The Miz vs Heavy Machinery vs The Revival vs Lucha House Party. Winner Faces The New Day For The SmackDownTag Team Championship At Super showdown.

WWE Photo
Why would Morrison and Miz face some competitors in order to face The New Day even though they pinned ⅔ of The New Day in singles action?

I get that they want to give other superstars some spotlight but it just doesn't make sense. The match was aight though. The Dirt Sheets wins and faces The New Day at Super showdown for the tag titles.

Otis despite in a losing effort moments ago, asked Mandy Rose to a date next Friday but Rose has plans.

However, she did follow that up saying that she's free next, next Friday and Otis was thrilled. Otis is one lucky guy. Good on him.

Mandy Rose And Sonya Deville vs Alexa Bliss And Nikki Cross.

WWE Photo

The team of Bliss and Cross wins this tag match with a twisted Bliss to Mandy Rose. Meh.

Braun Strowman vs Shinsuke Nakamura For The Intercontinental Championship.

WWE Photo
Strowman was mostly dominant throughout this match so you didn't miss much in terms of match quality. The monster among men captures his first singles WWE title with the running powerslam.

Nakamura didn't do anything meaningful with the intercontinental championship so taking off of the artist is a nice change. Will see if the almighty WWE booking helps the big man or not.

A frustrated Sami Zayn was interviewed by Alyson and he was annoyed by Elias' guitar skills inside the ring.

They verbally went back and forth to which Zayn tells Cesaro to take care of the situation. Cesaro and Elias fought for a bit then Elias threw Cesaro over the top rope. Yawn.

Sheamus vs Shorty G.

WWE Photo

I loved how Shorty G hits Sheamus behind and casually walks to the ring. That was hilarious. But, it didn't help Chad win because he lost with the brogue kick.

Bayley Looks At Her New Potential Challenger.

WWE Photo

Bayley with a smile on her face, brags about beating Lacey Evans in front of Evans' daughter and points out that she has beaten everybody.

That last point was a calling for Naomi who recently returned in the women's Royal Rumble match that got non-wrestling fans no pun intended, glowing about her on Twitter.

Bayley sucker-punched Naomi but it wasn't enough to put her down because Naomi immediately hits her with a disaster kick. A very good segment actually. It builds to a new, fresh and exciting match-up that we haven't seen before and for that reason, ya boy is intrigued.

Roman Reigns and The Usos vs King Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Loser Eats Dog Food.

WWE Photo
The babyface team wins with a roll-up from the big dog. The Usos locked Corbin with handcuffs while the king tries to escape and Reigns speared him for good measure leading to Corbin eating literal dog food.

Micheal Cole was having a good time when Roman poured Corbin some dog food. This is a bad idea come to life, you know like Mike Myers dressed in Cat costume.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Naomi and Bayley segment.

Didn't like: The main event and the ending, opening segment, the whole Elias, Sami Zayn and Cesaro segment, having The Miz and Morrison fight for a number one contendership despite pinning Kofi and Big E in singles competition made no sense.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Overall, this is the best WWE main roster PPV of the year with some bad booking decisions and here's why. By the way, I can't talk about the preshow match because I haven't seen it.  Sasha Banks and Bayley vs Nia Jax and Tamina vs The Riott Squad vs Naomi and Carmella vs Fire and Desire vs The IIconics. Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.  This was a good match. The IIconics eliminated the team of Naomi and Carmella with a double roll up pin by the IIconics to Naomi.  The Iconics then got eliminated by Nia Jax and Tamina with a double Samoan drop and eliminated The Riott Squad with a top rope Samoan Drop from Nia Jax to Liv Morgan and a Samoan Splash from Tamina to Sarah Logan.  Nia Jax and Tamina were eliminated by Sasha banks and Bayley with an elbow drop to Tamina.  The match ended with Sasha used her thigh instead of her arm to apply the bank statement to Sonya Deville and just like that, the boss n’ hug connect...

The 5 News Week: An Interview With MLW's Myron Reed, Quick Thoughts On Smackdown.

A rare Saturday edition of 5 news week but if you're new here, I publish this weekly news article every Sunday and the format goes like this.  I report on 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately and I put them in one post.  Yes, there was a lot of news that dropped in a single day but since I'm posting this on Saturday morning, the 4 news this week is before Friday.  Without further ado, here are the 5 news week. An Interview With MLW's Myron Reed.   via MLW Myron Reed has been in the pro wrestling scene since 2016 and picked up an impressive portfolio for himself.  Reed worked with current stars like AJ Gray, NXT's Joaquin Wilde, Matt Cross aka Son Of Havoc, AEW's The Lucha Brothers, Best Friends, and a whole lot more. via MLW So, I asked Reed about his time in OVW and whether being a tag team wrestler was the goal or not?  "Actually, I started in a small town called Central City (In Kentucky...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
