WWE RAW 13/1/20 | My Coherent Review.

I missed RAW last week due to a bad cold. Yes, I am feeling better but you certainly didn't click on a Monday Night RAW review for my current health condition do ya? Anywho, how was RAW this week?

In terms of the overall quality of matches, I thought it was a weak show. However, when it comes to the build or storyline progression, I thought it was a stronger episode for the red brand.

Randy Orton Calls Out AJ Styles.

WWE Photo
Like the title above, Orton indeed called out Styles and Styles did come out to the ring. Styles mentioned how his version of the RKO was better than the originator and proceeds to tell Randy that he'll win the rumble match.

Drew McIntyre showed up and he didn't like Orton and Styles' RKO measuring content however, he does say that his Claymore is bigger (dick jokes am I right?). McIntyre doesn't want to talk, he wants to fight which led to a triple threat match and speaking of which……

Randy Orton vs AJ Styles vs Drew McIntyre.

WWE Photo
This was supposed to be a one on one match between Orton and Styles but we got an extra in Drew McIntyre and it was decent.

AJ tried to hit the RKO to the viper but he failed and instead, Randy delivers the styles clash successfully but AJ kicked out of 2.

McIntyre hits the Claymore kick out of nowhere to Styles and The Scotsmen wins this bout. I'm liking sarcastic Drew. It's actually quite entertaining.

This could be the reboot Drew needs for his character to take his position in the card to the next level or maybe we're heading for "same old thing" type of situation? Who knows but will see.

Ricochet vs Mojo Rawley.

WWE Photo

This has to be a Mojo Rawley first W in God knows how long right? Well, I was joking and Ricochet wins with the 630.

Charlotte vs Sarah Logan.

WWE Photo

Sarah Logan embraces her Viking character which is rumoured to be the setting for the upcoming Assassin's Creed game (don't know if that has to do with anything but there you go).

Flair wins with figure 8, making the beating the queen took from Logan last week utterly meaningless.

Brock Lesnar Meets A Certain Champion.

WWE Photo
This promo starts with a funny Southern accent attempt from Heyman to which Lawler replied on commentary "not that far south" (that was funny from the king).

The crowd starts to chant "you suck" and they left the ring but came back to brag about how he ended the Undertaker's undefeated streak.

Heyman went on to say that his spoilers were and will always be successfully executed by Brock Lesnar and talks about the truth. That led to R Truth showing thinking that it was his queue.

WWE Photo

Truth did not only thought that Heyman was in the rumble match but he doesn't like the fact that Heyman is giving away spoilers like the A'holes in the Star Wars community before the Rise Of Skywalker released in theatres.

R Truth shouts "what's up", dances around the ring but Lesnar hits the clothesline hard, puts him down with the F5 and tells a beat-up R Truth "that's what up".

A fantastic segment that hits all the elements of how a WWE segment is creatively crafted together. The thing I like about R Truth is that he knows his role within WWE television and tries to make that piece of content he's in the best thing just like every performer in this industry and you gotta respect that.

As far as my opinions on Brock joining the men's Royal Rumble match, I think it fits the beast incarnate character and how he wants a sense of challenge in his matches. Also, the guy has beaten pretty much everybody so I don't see a credible opponent in the RAW roster facing the beast other than maybe Aleister Black or a Kevin Owens. By the way, Mojo pins R Truth to become the 24/7 title. Cool.

Bobby Lashley vs Rusev.

WWE Photo
We went from a great segment to a big yawn match (I'm talking about how the match was boring and not about how that match's stipulation included yawning. The hell is wrong with me?).

Liv Morgan stormed on the outside to confront Lana to which Lana spills Morgan a beer and threw her on the barricade. Meanwhile, Bobby hits the spear and wins this match. Talk about a tone change from Rusev. Oh, and Lana announced a mixed tag team match next week and Lashley wasn't happy about it.

The Viking Raiders Issues An Open Challenge.

WWE Photo
The Bollywood Boyz answered and they lost with the Viking Experience. Another act that's a victim of "same old thing" type of situation but that's mostly blamed for the lack thereof a tag team division.

Rusev and Liv Morgan mentioned their hatred for the couple in Lana and Lashley. Meh.

Becky Lynch vs Asuka For The RAW Women's Championship Contract Signing.

WWE Photo
Jerry Lawler moderates the contract signing for an upcoming anticipated rematch between Becky Lynch and Asuka.

They're in the state of Kentucky which means you're probably gonna hear some racial slu..., I mean some "what" chants from the crowd whenever Asuka speaks. The empress of tomorrow spits out the green mist on Becky Lynch and the man sold it like the champ she is.

Becky wanted the microphone and basically told Asuka that all hell will break loss at the 2020 edition of the Royal Rumble match.

WWE Photo
This was an effective segment. In my opinion, they don't need a ton of build for this match given that it's a mark key match but I get it.

Zelina's and Andrade tells in an interview with Sarah Scribier that Rey Mysterio is a disgrace to the Latino people.

Rey responded in a separate interview with Charly Caruso saying that he will take that title off of Andrade next week in a ladder match. Rey Mysterio in 2019 was great in terms of promo work so will see what 2020 brings for the masked luchador.

Aleister Black vs Buddy Murphy.

WWE Photo
Another Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy match, another fun match. Black knocks out Murphy for a bit with a quick knee strike that made the Australian go to the crowd area.

Another thing that made Murphy go to a different area was when Black kicked Murphy with a roundhouse from the top rope and Murphy landed on the barricade. Buddy Murphy hits the Murphy's Law but Black's leg was on the ropes.

The match ended with two black masses from Aleister Black and Black wins his series of matched with Bubby Murphy once more.

Murphy was upset that he couldn't beat Aleister and he was sitting on the barricade while Erick Rowan squashed somebody once again. What's next for Buddy Murphy? We will probably find out a lot sooner probably the same night.

Kevin Owens, Big Show And Samoa Joe vs Seth Rollins And AOP In A Fist Fight Match.

WWE Photo
Bad branding for a glorified last man standing match aside, this was a good bout. Kevin Owens ran on the LED walls like a character from the video game Titanfall and hits the cannonball through AOP in the stage area.

Rollins tells an emotionally wrecked Murphy to save him which he did and low blows Big show and pushes Show through the table. AOP knocks out Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe which led to a W for the heels with the stomp from Rollins to Big Show.

This entire arc from Murphy being lost to getting some hope from the Monday Night Messiah was executed perfectly. I wanna see more character arcs like this. Loved all of this.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: The fistfight match, the whole arc for Buddy Murphy, Aleister Black vs Buddy Murphy, Brock Lesnar and R Truth segment, Becky Lynch and Asuka's contract signing for their singles Royal Rumble match, sarcastic Drew McIntyre.

Didn't like: Rusev vs Bobby Lashley.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Did NXT Just Delivered Their Best Go Home Show!?, A Fantastic AEW Dynamite Main Event.

Did I just witness the best NXT go home show ever?  The answer my friends is yes.  While I prefer NXT this week, AEW Dynamite wasn't bad either and a big step up compared to the series of bore-fest shows they produced.  NXT   Highlights.  Msk vs Legado De La Fantasma. Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament SemiFinals.  God damn. What a way to start off the NXT before Vengeance Day.  Unique offensives from Msk is why that tag team is growing on me pretty quickly.  And luckily for them, they advance to the finals which will be conducted at Takeover: Vengeance Day with a double team manoeuvre.  Xia Li Continues To Dominate.  I've been a fan of whatever NXT is doing with this angle and it's mainly because they're embracing the cinematic scripted nature of the business which is what some consider "unrealistic" for some reason.  And yet, they don't mind The Undertaker shooting lightning-like Static Shock at Royal Rumble 2006 but he...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...
