My Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Wardlow Shows Up, Kay Lee Ray Joins Team Shayna.

I don't know if NXT does the recap highlight video with their theme song regularly or not but I really like it and it's a great way to give newer fans of what to expect on the yellow brand.

As far as my opinions for both shows overall, I gotta give NXT the win for my favourite show of the night not that AEW wasn't bad. It was fine with a few good moments.

NXT

Highlights.

Angel Garza vs Lio Rush For The NXT Cruiserweight Championship.

WWE Photo

Garza took off his pants in front of Rush's wife and kids which was great. However, Lio says otherwise and he almost damaged Garza's back hard with the suicide dive.

Angel then countered that with a moonsault powerslam from the top rope leading to a butterfly driver of some sort mere minutes later and Rush kicked out.

Garza tried to deliver that move from the top rope but Rush escaped and hits the final hour (which is a frog splash) and Garza survived that one.

The move Angel Garza didn't survive was a second final hour and Lio Rush still keeps the purple title. A fun opening match worthy of being called a highlight.

Finn Balor is not happy with the new NXT.

WWE Photo

This segment went from Balor complaining about NXT having "boys" nowadays aka the verbal version of those memes "actions stars then to now" to Matt Riddle brawling with Balor to The Undisputed Era coming out to Tommaso Ciampa and Keith helping Matt even the odds to Keith challenging Adam Cole to a match to Roderick Strong taking that challenge instead of Cole. That was a mouthful.

Keith Lee vs Roderick Strong.

Despite Balor's interference, Lee won the match with the modified jackhammer but The Undisputed Era were beating Lee and Ciampa when he chimed in.

Out came Dominic Djakovic and he cleaned house which led to Djakovic joining team Ciampa for the upcoming men's War games match at Takeover: War Games.

I can definitely buy Djakovic as a face considering that he had a series of great matches with his War Games partner in Keith Lee.

Io Shirai vs Mia Yim. Winner Gets A War Games Advantage.

WWE Photo

Yim injures Io's hand thanks to the ladder Mia used. They then played tug of war with that ladder to which Mia spun the ladder, placed the ladder and delivered a suplex to Io Shirai on the ladder (why did I described that sequence as if I'm describing how to eat an oreo? Lick the cookie, dip the cookie and eat the cookie).

Yim threw Io Shirai with a belly to belly suplex however, Shirai barley connected with the ladder.

Shirai crushed Yim's face with the springboard missile dropkick on Mia Yim when Yim had the ladder in hand.

After Dakota Kai was checking on Mia Yim, Io Shirai delivered the greatest moonsault in all of pro wrestling on them. Kai countered that with a powerbomb to Io and Mia was slowly climbing the ladder.

As soon as she was climbing, the NXT UK women's champion Kay Lee Ray pushed Mia Yim and Yim went through the ladder that was set up on the outside.

Obviously, that gave Io Shirai an advantage to win the War Games advantage. That match was the most brutal women's match I've seen in quite some time.

What a match indeed. Oh, and Bayley knocks out Shayna Baszler minutes after Baszler's music hit. Kay Lee Ray is now part of team Shayna in the first-ever women's war games match and I'm down with that.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Xia Li vs Aliyah - Li kicked Aliyah so hard that Aliyah was bleeding profusely through the nose after she lost the match with that kick. Hopefully, Aliyah recovers fast from that.

Bronson Reed vs Isiah "Swerve" Scott - Reed reminds me of Sheamus's move set in the sense that Reed has a diverse range of effective moves but his movement wasn't enough to win this match.

Pete Dunne vs Killian Dain - The match hasn't begun because of Damian Priest hitting Dain from behind and then a huge brawl happened between all three men.

AEW

Highlights.

Jon Moxley Doesn't Want Anybody To Ask Him For Any Apologies.

Kenny Omega's close friend in Nakasawa couldn't get the job done and he ate the DDT from JEEEEEEEAAAAN! Moxley. JEEEEEEEAAAAN them cut a promo saying that he respects Kenny Omega and questions if he latest win counts or not.

Moxley ends his promo by saying that nobody can stop him from being him and wants anybody from the AEW roster to challenge him. His promos compared to WWE is apples to spaceships. He is definitely a beneficiary of going off-script with his dialogues.

Luchasaurus Returns Early.

After The Dark Order won their tag team match, they decided to make a statement by putting a mask on Jungle Boy and then, Luchasaurus makes his return with a huge ovation from the crowd in Nashville to help his tag mates from an additional beating by The Dark Order. Luchasaurus got a pop from me so that was fantastic.

An MJF And A Chris Jericho Promo Battle.

MJF said that Cody is a piece of crap and also said that he wouldn't be part of the inner circle jerk. Chris replied by saying that his parents were horny when he faced Juventud Guerrera back in WCW leading to MJF popping out from his mom (I'm I the only young person that knows who Juventud Guerrera is?).

They then argued who's a crappy person and both were in agreement that it was Cody similar to how Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens' argument was executed back in late 2016.

Cody came out and delivers both Jericho and MJF with straight rights. Then, Wardlow showed up from behind and clotheslined the hell out of Cody in his first AEW appearance. That promo battle was very enjoyable with great comedic timing.

AEW has teased Wardlow back in All Out so will see how he performs in a major wrestling promotion.

Some Other Things That Happened.

"The Chairman" Shawn Spears vs The Librarian vs Darby Allen  - The lover of all things skateboard wins this triple threat match with a back splash of some sort.

Allen then grabbed a microphone and says that he accepts Moxley's challenge. What a match that would be.

Nyla Rose vs Local Jobber - A jobber losing a match!? What? No way!

Awesome Kong cuts off Alley's hair - Whatever.

Santana and Ortiz Brawled With The Young Bucks - That Orange Cassidy cameo when Santana opened the bathroom door was hilarious.

Pac vs Hangman Adam Page - Pac won the match with the brutalizer. Don't mind 50/50 booking as long as the second match is better than the first and unfortunately, this wasn't it.

SCU In Scorpio Sky and Frank Kazarian vs Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara For The AEW World Tag Team Championship -  Another okay match of the evening. Not a fan of how SCU won the match by having Scorpio Sky pin Chris Jericho but maybe that leads to something? I don't know but hopefully what they're leading to something decent at least.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The White Rabbit In The Room.

I haven't reviewed last year's show mainly because it was so good and clearly as extreme as any ECW match and I'm happy to tell all 3 of y'all that this one is better by several inches or so. Why? *slaps my bald head* HERE'S WHY. The opening match between Sheamus and Gunther's crew ruled harder than the Mongolian empire.  It was basically an enhanced version of Sheamus' match with Gunther last night on Smackdown and I loved it.  The Brawling Brutes' victory means one thing that is clearly obvious, a rematch between Sheamus and Gunther for the intercontinental championship aka the only series of rematches I don't mind.  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan delivered in what was a wrestling match equivalent to the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie.  While Bianca Belair and Bayley had their equivalent to the first Iron Man movie in that it was decent.  Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had an okay edition of the "Meaty men slapping meat".  That spear from Edge to...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...
