The 5 News Week: Ronda Rousey Returns To Acting, Local Advertising For The Upcoming Friday Smackdown Show.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

Local Advertise Matches For The Upcoming Friday Smackdown Show.

October is gonna be a big month. Not only I'm going to graduate on that month (yay me) but as well as all of your favourite shows will return to air but Smackdown is an exception because it's not returning per se but rather it's changing the air date (no F'ing shit, Omar).

The Staples Centre in Los Angeles, CA has locally advertised a three-way dance match (which is another word for a triple threat match for all of you slow mofos) between the champ Kofi, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton. The article that broke Dolph Ziggler story below made mention that this match is now being scrapped and instead it's a good old 6 man tag match so there's the update.

Dolph Ziggler Reportedly Stuck In Contract And Can't Get Out.

Speaking of the show-off, Ziggler's last day with the company was actually this past Monday bodyslam.net states in their exclusive report.

Ziggler had a "handshake deal" with Vince McMahon that would last following SummerSlam so that the chairman and CEO would let Ziggler go in pursuit of other interests or "other projects" (assuming that it's his stand up comedy gig).

However, on Monday prior to RAW, Dolph thanked the boss but Vince said to him that he quote "couldn't let him out of his deal" and would rather "pay him to stay home". That report mentioned that it's probably because of Vince not allowing his top guys to be with AEW and I kinda disagree given that he loves doing stand up comedy right now. Dolph might jump ship but I don't really see it right now. Will have to wait and see what happens next.

Ronda Rousey Returns To Acting.

The baddest woman on the planet is returning to acting but on the small screen this time on a show that airs on FOX (that's a lot of ons). The show's called "9-1-1" and it is at its 3rd season. The trailer of the latest season showed a tsunami hitting a beach and while she's not in the trailer, the character named Lena Bosko is described by Deadline as "a stoic and fearless member of the Los Angeles Fire Department Station 136 who leaps into action to save lives when a disaster hits."

Jumping into the wrestling side (get? Tsunami? Jumping), Dave Meltzer gave his thoughts on the possibility that Ronda shows up on the October 4th Smackdown show on Wrestling Observer Radio and basically said that it increases the chance of her showing up.

Not of fan of Ronda as an actress but she was surprisingly decent in that God awful movie that was Mile 22. Also, it's possible that she could show up on Smackdown but I don't know if her vacation is still done or not.

Rusev Shows His New Look. Kind of.

There you go. That's his new look but the rude Bulgarian has a ring to it. Rusev right now went back to the underutilized section before the whole Rusev day stuff blew up which somehow WWE managed to mess that up.

That dude needs a character evaluation or a repackaging of some sort. Hoping that they utilized him greatly.

In other words, this is the 4 news week.

Eric Bischoff On Not Wanting A Three Hour Nitro.

The executive director of Smackdown in Eric Bischoff talked in his podcast called 83 Weeks about how he didn't want a 3-hour nitro show because of the decision made by TNT. Here's the full context as to what he is saying (transcript via 411MANIA):

“No, it wasn’t [done to get the jump on Raw],” “It was really an economy of scale kind of a decision. It costs a certain amount of money to produce a two-hour show. And our ratings were great, things were rockin’ and rollin’. We definitely had the attention of the audience. And it became a financial decision from TNT, not from me. I didn’t want to do a three-hour show, for God’s sake. It’s hard enough doing a two-hour show.”

Listen to the whole thing below.

Sorry for not posting anything this past week. I was working on two college assignments and I thought it was possible I could do this and work on my assignments at the same time but it wasn't possible at all. Hopefully, I could post a RAW, Smackdown Live or an NXT review. What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
