WWE Smackdown Live 28/5/19 | My Coherent Review.

This was a decent episode of Smackdown Live. Liked how they changed the way they approached storyline in this show.

Kevin Owens vs Kofi Kingston.

The show kicked off with a match which I appreciate WWE main roster TV for changing their formula every once in a while.

However, before that, he cut a promo about how the opening segment was supposed to be a KO show, how he hasn't beaten up Big E which is interesting, how he's gonna beat up Kofi (which Tom Phillips couldn't wait for the promo to end) and out came Kofi.

Kofi Kingston basically said that Kevin will play for his actions. The match itself was pretty solid. Kofi Kingston obviously won the match with the trouble in paradise.

Meanwhile, Truth and Carmella were looking for ways to run from the rest of the WWE superstars.

The Planet's Champions In Ring Interview With Kayla Braxton.

The Planet̢۪s Champion derides the WWE tag team division and calls it a joke.

Daniel Bryan and Rowan made a "knock, knock. Who's there?" joke but about the SmackDown Live tag team division. Daniel then crapped on Oklahoma and want's to save the tag team division and the planet.

Tucker says he and Otis love having fun, but it̢۪s time for Heavy Machinery to get down to business.

Kayla told them that there's one team that wants to challenge them and out came Heavy Machinery. Heavy Machinery challenged the planet's champions to which Daniel accepted but not in Oklahoma. This was aight and that's all I feel about it.

Mandy Rose vs Carmella.

By the way, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville were passing on copies of fitness magazines backstage that has Rose as the cover including Ember Moon who's reading a fiction book I believe. Mandy Rose won the match with a roll up.

Shane McMahon Appreciation Night.

Elias wrote Shane a song.

Before this, Aleister Black cut a promo in a dark room with a black shirt and he basically said that he's waiting patiently for anybody to pick a fight with him. That's cool and all but when's Aleister going to compete in a match?

Shane showed the audience a great promo video package about himself (because he's the TOP heel even though he's not an active competitor), thanked Kevin Dunn for the video and said that there's no reason to boo Kevin Dunn which made me laugh for some reason.

Shane also said that he's gonna beat the respect out of Reigns. Elias replied by saying that he wrote a song about Shane McMahon. R Truth came out and pinned Drake Maverick to which Drew and Elias were beating up Truth. Elias pinned R Truth and just like that, Elias just won his first championship ever in WWE and Shane made a tag match between Drew, Elias, R Truth and Roman Reigns. Truth honestly saved this boring segment.

After that, Lacey Evans and Charlotte Flair were drinking tea in the locker room and they talked about how if it wasn't for that cash in, Charlotte would've been SmackDown Live women's champion. I really, really, really, really love this for some reason.

Bayley vs Lacey Evans.

The match ended with Bayley hitting Charlotte to which Charlotte ran to the ring and the ref was dealing with The Queen.

Lacey Evans was pinning Bayley via a modified roll up but the ref didn't see that until Bayley delivered a roll-up of her own and won the match. After the match, Charlotte and Lacy Evans were brawling to which Charlotte kicked Evans with a big boot. Ahhh, I was enjoying this friendship.

After a long video package about a match I don't give a crap about between Triple H and Randy Orton, Andrade cut a promo in the interview setting area basically saying that he will beat Finn at Super showdown.

Roman Reigns and R Truth vs Drew McIntyre and Elias.

As R Truth was about to enter the ring, Drew and Elias were beating up Truth again. Roman Reigns absolutely dominated the match and because of that, his team won the match with a spear to Elias.

After the match, Roman speared Elias again which led to R Truth pinning Elias and he became a two time 24/7 champion. I honestly really liked the ending and how Truth got the title back. It was a short and sweet moment if you ask me.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: The ending, Lacey Evans and Charlotte having a tea party.

Didn't like: Shane McMahon Appreciation Night before Truth showed up.

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

Jim Cornette's Opinion On WWE's Deal With FOX.

Jim Cornette recently appeared on Talk Is Jericho about the state of wrestling ( Click here to listen and download the whole thing, it's really good) and talked about a number of topics but the interesting thing about this discussion is his opinion on WWE's deal with FOX. Here's what he had to say (shout out to WrestleZone for the transcript):  " Vince just got $2 billion for a TV deal. People are looking at All In, the resurgence of New Japan, and all that, but that’s going to be the most important thing. Now people with platforms are interested in wrestling again.  There’s a lot of money in wrestling again. For a while ratings were meh, and they still are, but at the same point $2 billion, how can you argue with that? In 2011, when Sinclair Broadcasting bought Ring of Honor it instantly became the second most watched television program because it was on 60 local stations.  That was still a wide gap from WWE, and IMPACT has gone in the other direction becaus...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
