WWE RAW 8/4/19 | My Coherent Review.

Overall, this was an okay episode of Monday Night RAW but it could've been so much better.

Opening segment.

WWE Photo

The RAW after WrestleMania kicked off with the new Universal champion, Seth Rollins. After the crowd chanted “you deserve it” to Seth Rollins, Rollins replied by saying “we deserve it”. Minutes after that, Seth Rollins told Brock Lesnar that Brock should stay in Las Vegas and Seth Rollins is gonna be a defending champion.

Out came The New Day (yes, The New Day) and they said that The New Day can't wait for Tuesday because Kofi proposed a winner take all match for the WWE and the Universal Championships tonight and Seth Rollins accepted the challenge. I'm really confused about this segment but maybe I'm over thinking about this. What's gonna happen with the main championships after this? I don't know but I'm hoping WWE has a BIG plan but you know how WWE likes to rush their plans.

Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins vs The Revival for the RAW Tag Team Championship.

WWE Photo

This was surprisingly a decent match. The New Yorkers pulled out a miracle once again with a roll up from Curt Hawkins to Scott Dawson.

Baron Corbin’s Yawn Worthy Promo.

Angle tells Corbin that he was the better man last night…

Baron Corbin in his promo talked about how he's proved people wrong by beating an Olympic gold medalist. Out came the Olympic gold medalist himself, Kurt Angle and he said that Baron Corbin is the better man and wishes Corbin good luck.

Obviously, that was a swerve and delivered Baron Corbin with the Angle Slam and the Ankle Lock. Out came Lars Sullivan and he ABSOLUTELY destroyed Kurt Angle. Great to see Lars Sullivan healthy and focused and I hope that he lands to Smackdown Live considering that RAW has a lot of big guys.

Alexa Bliss vs Bayley.

WWE Photo

Great to see Bliss back in the ring for the first time since the women's royal rumble match I believe. Anyways, The Goddess won the match with the DDT.

The Man Speaks After Her Big Victory Last Night.

WWE Photo

Becky cut a promo basically saying that she went from having nothing to having everything. The crowd then started to sing her theme song and minutes later, Lacy Evans does her usual stick with going and leaving and then Evans punched Lynch in the face which led to a brawl between both women.

So we know who's Becky's first challenger and I feel like this feud is beneath the championships if I'm being honest. It reminds me of when Daniel Bryan’s reign after his title win at Wrestlemania 30 in the sense that he feuded with Kane and it felt like it was beneath the championship you know what I mean? Hopefully, this is a short feud.

Aleister Black and Ricochet vs Bobby Roode and Chad Gable.

WWE Photo

Another decent tag team match. The team of Aleister Black and Ricochet won the match with the modified code breaker from Ricochet to Gable and then a frustrated Roode hits Ricochet from behind.

After that, Elias told the world that he's getting his concert later that night on RAW.

Dean Ambrose vs Bobby Lashley. Dean's Final WWE match.

WWE Photo

Before this, WWE played a video where a crocodile looking puppet was laughing in a dark background which I'm gonna predict it's Mojo Rawley.

Anyways, Bobby Lashley told Dean as soon as Dean Ambrose leaves WWE, Bobby will make sure that he's gonna take care of his wife Renee Young.

That made Dean pissed off and immediately after that, Dean ate a spear near the stage area and ate a slam through the announce table. Intrigued as to where Dean goes from here. Is he gonna perhaps land at AEW? Anything is possible in professional wrestling.

Sami Zayn vs Finn Balor for the Intercontinental championship.

WWE Photo

Sami Zayn came out with a thunderous ovation from the crowd and Sami Zayn said that he's looking for someone to fight with. Finn Balor answered Zayn's challenge and Balor put his championship on the line.

This was a good match. The match ended with Finn Balor reversed the Helluva Kick from Zayn and Balor hits him with the coup de grace to retain the Intercontinental championship. After the match, Zayn cut a promo saying that he doesn't miss the fans and called out the fans for being too toxic. How funny that Kevin Owens is a babyface while Zayn Is a heel. Should've been the exact opposite but whatever.

Elias Concert.

Suddenly, the gong sounds throughout the arena!

This ain't an Elias concert without an interruption. This time it was The Undertaker which I'm not gonna lie, that was a big surprise from me. Elias then tried to hit the deadman but Undertaker hits with the big boot, chokeslam and the tombstone piledriver.

Seth Rollins vs Kofi Kingston for the Universal and the WWE championships. Winner Take All.

WWE Photo

Well, that kinda answered my question earlier. The match ended in a DQ because The Bar came out and interrupted a pin from Seth which led to a tag team match between Kofi and Seth vs The Bar. This makes no sense. One, what's The Bar motivation for interrupting the match in the first place? Two, if you wanna make a tag match then why can't The Bar interrupt the opening segment but even that makes no sense.

Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston vs The Bar.

WWE Photo

I will say this, it was a decent match. Seth Rollins won the match with the stomp to Cesaro.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: Sami Zayn vs Finn Balor for the Intercontinental championship, Undertaker's return, Lars Sullivan's dominating main roster segment debut.

Didn't like: The ending of the Kofi Kingston vs Seth Rollins match, The feud between Becky Lynch and Lacy Evans feels like it's beneath the championship.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
