WWE NXT 20/2/19 | My Coherent Review.

This episode of NXT TV was okay overall with a great main event and here's why.

Aleister Black vs Roderick Strong.

This show kicked off with a decent match. Aleister Black won the match with the black mass to Strong. After the match, the rest of the Undisputed Era came out with a 2 on 1 assault to Black. That led to Ricochet coming out to Aleister’s rescue.

After that, a backstage segment happened where Shayna Baszler and her gang were arguing with half of the women's division in the locker room.

This announcement has me excited because the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament is coming back in two weeks. The first 4 teams that are competing in this tournament on NXT TV two weeks from now are The Forgotten Sons, Undisputed Era, Street Profits and the team of Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel. The final 4 teams will be announced next week on NXT.

Mia Yim vs Xia Li.

Not a fan of this match to be honest. It's not terrible but it was boring. After Mia Yim wins this match with Seoul food (or Protect Ya Neck), Shayna and the gang rushed to the ring with a beatdown. The women's division came out to save Mia Yim but they got their backside kicked by her gang. This is a way for keeping Shayna Baszler busy with a short feud while Bianca Belair and Io Shirai are feuding so I don't mind the ending based on that situation.

Minutes after that, a backstage interaction between former DIY buddies and Johnny Gargano wife, Candice  LeRae which is rather intriguing.

Johnny Gargano vs Velveteen Dream for the NXT North American Championship.

Before the match started, somebody in the crowd tore the Johnny Gargano sign in front of him and Gargano didn't see it which made me laugh. Nevertheless, this was a fantastic bout between those two. Velveteen Dream won the match with the purple rainmaker so in other words, Velveteen Dream is the New North American champion. Congratulations to the D-R-E-A-M is.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: the Main event.

Didn't like: Mia Yim vs Xia Li.

The 5 News Week: An Interview With Musician John Kiernan.

WE'RE BACK LADIES, GENTLEMEN AND NB! Now, what did I miss from the several week hiatus?  *Scrolls down at the news feed* a billionaire said something stupid. Monday Night RAW is still duh and uninspired. Mass release of talent by WWE.  So……. Same old sh*t? Figures.  For those unaware (pretty much everybody), The 5 News Week is where I showcase 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have the time to do separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 News Week.  An Interview With Musician John Kiernan.  I kick things off with an interview from a guy that I'm hoping (as a musician) appreciates Brie Bella's theme song because my music tastes suck, musician John Kiernan.  If the name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because you’re listening to a podcast that loves shouting out the names John “loose cannon” Lopez and ‘Beast Mode” Brock Joseph at the beginning.  Kiernan has composed and straight-up killed it in the pro wrestling musi...

Jim Cornette's Opinion On WWE's Deal With FOX.

Jim Cornette recently appeared on Talk Is Jericho about the state of wrestling ( Click here to listen and download the whole thing, it's really good) and talked about a number of topics but the interesting thing about this discussion is his opinion on WWE's deal with FOX. Here's what he had to say (shout out to WrestleZone for the transcript):  " Vince just got $2 billion for a TV deal. People are looking at All In, the resurgence of New Japan, and all that, but that’s going to be the most important thing. Now people with platforms are interested in wrestling again.  There’s a lot of money in wrestling again. For a while ratings were meh, and they still are, but at the same point $2 billion, how can you argue with that? In 2011, when Sinclair Broadcasting bought Ring of Honor it instantly became the second most watched television program because it was on 60 local stations.  That was still a wide gap from WWE, and IMPACT has gone in the other direction becaus...

WWE TLC 2018 | My Coherent Review.

TLC 2018 exceeded my expectations a bit in terms of how the show was like overall. In other words, it was decent but it was not a home run obviously. Now, Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the cruiserweight championship match between Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander but what I did see is everything after that. Without further ado, on with the review.   PRE SHOW: Elias vs Bobby Lashley  Well, that was a waste of time. Elias won the match. After the match, Bobby Lashley hit Elias with a guitar and Bobby along with Lio Rush stood tall. Thank God it was on the preshow.  MAIN SHOW: Mahalica vs Fabulous Truth  It’s either R Truth and Carmella or Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox are going to get the 30 spot in the Royal Rumble match and the winner is The Fabulous Truth.  After the match, Kayla Braxton asked where are they going to spend their vacation to which Truth answered by saying that the Fabulous Truth are going to WWE Headquarters in ...
