WWE Royal Rumble 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Royal Rumble 2019. Was it all that good? The answer is nope. Wasn't awful, it just made some booking mistakes or as I like it to call it, They've made some booking holes (this joke is as clever as WWE's booking these days). Without further ado, on with the review.

PRESHOW: Rusev vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Championship.

WWE Photo
The match itself was decent but Nakamura’s win made Rusev’s title reign a complete waste of air time at this point. Like why Rusev capture the US title only for a month later for Nakamura to get the championship right back? Makes no sense to me.

Speaking of a complete waste of time. The creative team decided to pair Scott Dawson and Rezar (because Akam got injured and recently had knee surgery) to face Bobby Roode and Chad Gable for the RAW tag team championship only for Dawson and Rezar to lose the match. Gotta love WWE's “creativity”.

Buddy Murphy vs Hideo Itami vs Kalisto vs Akira Tozawa for the Cruiserweight championship.

WWE Photo
That was a fun match. Buddy Murphy retained his Cruiserweight championship with Murphy's law to Itami.

MAIN SHOW: Asuka vs Becky Lynch for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship.

WWE Photo
Decent opener. During the match, both of those women did their finishers between the ropes. The match ended with Asuka delivered the Asuka lock to Lynch with a bridge and just like that, Asuka is still the champion. I don’t mind the way Becky lost, it’s just the match could’ve gone a bit longer.

The Bar vs Shane McMahon and The Miz for the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship.

WWE Photo
A very good tag team match. Shane McMahon and The Miz won the match with a shooting star press from Shane to Cesaro and you know what? I ain’t even mad about it considering that the Smackdown Live roster are lacking good quality tag teams and putting Shane McMahon in the tag team division gives the division much more attention and hopefully, to have them put over some other teams with the exception of The Bar.

Ronda Rousey vs Sasha Banks for the RAW Women’s Championship.

WWE Photo
Good match with an underwhelming ending. look, I know that Ronda was gonna retain the championship anyway, it’s just the way she won it with was again underwhelming. Ronda won the match with the piper’s pit. After the match, Ronda gave her respect to Sasha but instead Sasha gave Rousey the four sign. Intriguing.

The Women’s Royal Rumble Match.

WWE Photo
This match reminds me of the 2009 Royal Rumble match. It wasn’t terrible but it was so boring. The right woman won in Becky Lynch. I’m really interested as to where this goes from here. Hoping for a triple threat match between Becky, Ronda and Charlotte at Wrestlemania.

AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan For the WWE Championship.

WWE Photo
The match was very good. Daniel Bryan retained his Championship with the help from Erick Rowan which didn’t he, Luke Harper, Daniel Bryan and Kane fought for the Tag Team Championship a couple of months ago? This pairing feels rather odd but I will give this a chance.

Finn Balor vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship

WWE Photo
This was MATCH OF THE NIGHT right there. The match ended with Brock delivered the kamura Lock and that made Finn Balor Tap out (man, this show is full of unusual finishes). Brock is still Universal Champion. After the match, Brock put the mugging out of Balor for some reason. Will Brock defend his Universal Championship inside Elimination Chamber next month? Will have to wait and see.

The Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

WWE Photo
Was I the only thing one that didn’t mind Nia Jax being in this match? Anyways, Seth Rollins is the 2019 Royal Rumble winner which I’m happy with. Overall a decent Royal Rumble match and that's all I gotta say about that.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos:

Like: Buddy Murphy vs Akira Tozawa vs Kalisto vs Hideo Itami for the Cruiserweight championship, The Bar vs Shane McMahon and The Miz for the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship, Ronda Rousey vs Sasha Banks for the RAW Women’s Championship, Finn Balor vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

Didn’t like: The Women’s Royal Rumble Match. The ending to Rusev vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Championship, the entire Rezar and Dawson vs Bobby Roode and Chad Gable match.

WWE RAW 9/5/22 | A Coherent Review.

Yes, I didn't review Wrestlemania Backlash because one, I knocked out after a long day and two, why not? I did watch the show and it's like an episode of a Telltale game in that it's short and sweet.  How was the red brand this week?  Even though Wrestlemania Backlash is over, it still feels like I'm watching a build toward that show. It's like eating yesterday's leftovers with some fresh salad on the side, ya know. I'm hoping Hell In A Cell concludes everything.  The Street Profits vs RKBRO For The RAW Tag Team Championship.  Hey, look. A good tag team match, playas! Yes, they've fought each other more times than Call Of Duty sequels but like I said, I enjoyed it. RKBRO retained the championship with an RKO from Riddle to Montez Ford.  Rhea Ripley Is Now An Evil Goth Girl.  She said, "f**k them, kids". Also, why's Edge rocking the "I believe in white genocide" look? Ripley had a match with Liv Morgan and of course, she won the w...

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...
