WWE Smackdown Live 18/9/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown live was a good show that did its job to build some hype for WWE super showdown. Now usually on my reviews, I give my thoughts on what's good, what's ok and what bad. However, I'm only gonna tell you what's good and what's ok for this review because I didn't find anything bad about this episode. Now, here we go.

WHAT'S GOOD

AJ Styles vs Andrade Cien Almas

WWE Photo
Man, what a good match. One of my favourites moments from that match was when Andrade hit the stomp to AJ on the ring apron. The match ends with Almas going for the hammerlock DDT and AJ reversed it into a jackknife hold pin and turned it into a styles clash to win this match.

After the match, Samoa Joe outta nowhere attacked AJ and Samoa Joe tried to hit AJ on the steel steps but AJ reversed that and instead hit joe on the steel steps. Joe then put his thumb on AJ's eyes and ran away to the crowd. I don't mind almas losing because he looked good in defeat and I hope we get to see some championship gold from almas.

WHAT'S OK

Miz tv

Maryse feigned the injury, and Miz tries to get the jump on Bryan!
So far, 9 matches have been announced for WWE super showdown in Melbourne, Australia and we have a 10th. The Miz will indeed face Daniel Bryan and that match will determine the number one contender for WWE championship.

Miz then introduces his wife Maryse as his guest on Miz tv because why not? They go on and on about their victory at hell in a cell two days ago and the crowd were booing Maryse like as if Roman was there. Miz then calls out Daniel Bryan and then Daniel showed up and wasted no time to brawl with Miz.

During the brawl, Bryan hit a dropkick to Miz on Maryse's lower abdomen and she sold that like a champ shout out to her. That "pain" was a setup so that the miz could deliver a skull crushing finale to Daniel from behind and Daniel reversed it and threw him on the outside. Not a bad segment. Not bad at all.

Cesaro vs Kofi Kingston

The interaction between both teams promo wise was a bit cringeworthy in some aspects but the match after that was decent. The flip dive that Kofi did was great but unfortunately, that didn't help him win this match because Cesaro wins with a brutal looking neutralizer.

US championship match

Nakamura rakes the eyes to avoid a perilous predicament.
Before this, Aiden English was talking shit about Rusev behind his back until Lana heard it and wanted to tell Rusev but he wants to focus on his match with Nakamura for the United States championship.

Nakamura retains the championship with a roll-up via a distraction from Aiden. After Shinsuke's win, English hit rusev repeatedly with the custom rusev day microphone and sang the word "Happy Rusev day". I don't know how to feel about this but will see how this storyline develops.

Asuka vs Billie Kay

This is the first time Asuka looked somewhat dominant since she was on RAW. She wins with the Asuka lock.

Becky lynch's championship celebration

She says she̢۪s here to show Becky the respect she didn̢۪t give Charlotte at SummerSlam.
This final segment of the night was okay in my opinion but Becky lynch's sarcasm was on point. WWE had a chance to do something different like a double turn with both women like Becky is the face and Charlotte is the heel but they blew it, however, I'm liking sarcastic Becky but it is going to get stale like Sami Zayn's heel run? We shall see.

WWE Backlash 2020 | A Coherent Review.

Overall, a decent PPV that was highlighted by a few good matches and one greatest match (yea, yea, the pun is worn out already but I just had to).  As a tradition on this site, I've not seen the pre-show match, however, I've heard it was solid.  Bayley And Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss And Nikki Cross vs The IIconics For The Women's Tag Team Championship.  A decent opening match of the evening. Peyton Royce did a unique crossbody onto every participant in the match.  Moments later, Royce and Billie Kay did their double team move on Sasha Banks but you know who also did a double team move?  Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss with a double team DDT on Peyton Royce.  As soon as Bliss hits the Twisted Bliss on Peyton Royce, Sasha Banks quickly rolled Alexa up for the victory and retained dos straps.  The tag team championship reign of the golden role models continues (No sh*t, Omar). Also, I wanna briefly speak on the Alexa Bliss situation....

The 5 News Week: An Interview With Musician John Kiernan.

WE'RE BACK LADIES, GENTLEMEN AND NB! Now, what did I miss from the several week hiatus?  *Scrolls down at the news feed* a billionaire said something stupid. Monday Night RAW is still duh and uninspired. Mass release of talent by WWE.  So……. Same old sh*t? Figures.  For those unaware (pretty much everybody), The 5 News Week is where I showcase 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have the time to do separately.  Without further ado, here are the 5 News Week.  An Interview With Musician John Kiernan.  I kick things off with an interview from a guy that I'm hoping (as a musician) appreciates Brie Bella's theme song because my music tastes suck, musician John Kiernan.  If the name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because you’re listening to a podcast that loves shouting out the names John “loose cannon” Lopez and ‘Beast Mode” Brock Joseph at the beginning.  Kiernan has composed and straight-up killed it in the pro wrestling musi...

Jim Cornette's Opinion On WWE's Deal With FOX.

Jim Cornette recently appeared on Talk Is Jericho about the state of wrestling ( Click here to listen and download the whole thing, it's really good) and talked about a number of topics but the interesting thing about this discussion is his opinion on WWE's deal with FOX. Here's what he had to say (shout out to WrestleZone for the transcript):  " Vince just got $2 billion for a TV deal. People are looking at All In, the resurgence of New Japan, and all that, but that’s going to be the most important thing. Now people with platforms are interested in wrestling again.  There’s a lot of money in wrestling again. For a while ratings were meh, and they still are, but at the same point $2 billion, how can you argue with that? In 2011, when Sinclair Broadcasting bought Ring of Honor it instantly became the second most watched television program because it was on 60 local stations.  That was still a wide gap from WWE, and IMPACT has gone in the other direction becaus...
