WWE Smackdown Live 14/8/18 | My Coherent Review.

This has been a good week for WWE programming. Smackdown Live was a decent show that had a consistent build towards summerslam. Why you ask? Well i'm gonna give you what's good and what's ok and the reason being is because the show was passable for the most part and none of the segments and matches warrant a bad rating in my opinion. Now, on with the review.

WHAT'S GOOD

Samoa joe's manipulation

I thought this whole manipulation by samoa joe was brilliant in my opinion and the best part about this is that samoa joe made you or this case me, believe for a split second that AJ care about his championship more than his family. Now obviously he isn't like that in real life but adding their history together *cough, cough TNA* and their real life friendship makes this storyline a hell a lot better and one of the reasons why i'm looking forward to that match at summerslam.

The history of the Daniel Bryan and The Miz Feud

The year 2010. The year that i got my first phone, the year that drake better find your loving. But, It's also the year where daniel bryan first had his taste in the WWE banner and became the miz's rookie in NXT and the rest they say is history. I thought that this entire promo package was fantastic and it adds to the overall intriguing feud. Great stuff by WWE.

WHAT'S OK

the opening segment and match

The opening segment was ok but the interesting thing about that segement was Charlotte calling carmella "a diva" and it has some truth to that statement considering that carmella's in ring work is poor.

By the way, this coming from someone who likes carmella as a heel. Or maybe, creative is booking carmella to not take high/big bums and dress like the divas era from before to psychologically manipulate the fans into hating her because of it. I'm by all means, not saying that's what WWE is doing but now that i'm thinking but it, i highly doubt that they're doing this.

The match was fine. The team of Charlotte and becky lynch wins.

Bludgeon Brothers vs local jobbers

This was a squash match. Bludgeon brothers wins.

New Day vs Sanity

Forgettable match in my opinion and i could see why WWE pull the trigger for sanity to lose considering that the new day has to look good going into summerslam. New day wins with the midnight hour.

Aiden English vs Andrade "Cien" Almas

Similar to the bludgoen brother match, this was a squash match. Andrade wins with the hammerlock DDT. After the match, both rusev and lana walks out and basically stated that they're gonna beat andrade and zelina on you guess it, RUSEV DAEEEEEEEEEEEEEY. I for one, think that their match at summerslam is a filler for this aiden english/rusev/lana storyline.

Jeff Hardy Vs Shelton Benjamin

Meh match. Jeff hardy wins with a splash. Not a top rope splash but a regular splash with was an odd finish in my opinion

WWE Smackdown 11/9/20 | A Coherent Review.

Smackdown is decent this week. But, I will say, they (Smackdown) have been by far the interesting show going into Clash Of Champions, unlike Monday Night RAW. pictures via WWE.com Roman Reigns' Wrecking Everyone Is Paul Heyman's Spoiler (no sh*t, Omar). Heyman started the show saying that Roman Reigns accomplished his goal to not only beat up people but as well as taking the championship that Reigns never lost. Heyman called out Jey Uso and Uso brought up the history between Jey's family and Paul Heyman. The history he was referring to was the fact that Paul Heyman managed The Usos' father, Rikishi back when Rikishi was part of the Head Skrinkers aka The Samoan Swat Team. King Corbin and Sheamus came out pretty much talking smack (see what just I did there?) about Jey Uso as number one contender. WWE Wrestlemania: Backlash 2021 | A Coherent Review.

Wrestlemania: Backlash or as I like to call it, Backlashimania, gets an enthusiastic thumbs up for me. I enjoyed the hell out of this PPV overall. Images via WWE.com The opening intro was narrated by the greatest of all time, Batista and it was straight badass despite the fact it was pretty much a promotion for Zack Snyder's new film, Army Of The Dead. Rhea Ripley vs Charlotte Flair vs Asuka For The RAW Women's Championship. Charlotte with the Cruella De Vil inspired ring gear was to quote Dolph Ziggler's old theme song, "perfection". The opening bout was fast-paced, high octane action that didn't have a slow/dull moment. All of these women utilized quick grapples and strikes to their advantage. WWE Smackdown 20/5/22 | A Coherent Review.

Regarding the whole Naomi and Sasha Banks situation, WWE has (on top of saying that Banks and Naomi have disappointed the fans to which I say, "FACK OFF, WILL YA?!") relinquished the women's tag belts and they're going to have a tournament to which I say, "WHAT F**KING TEAMS!?" WWE has more women's tag teams than Arsenal has champions league titles. As far as how I feel about the show, it was really mediocre, to say the least. Roman Reigns Hypes Up The Usos In Purse Of The Tag Title Unification Match. I'm just going to describe the main event match since it was pretty darn short. The Usos did just defeat RKBRO to win the red belts which led to a beatdown from the Bloodline to RKBRO. While the 6 man match at Backlash was, dare I say, a match of the year candidate, this one was just too uneventful due to the sudden end of an okay match that could've been MUCH better.
