WWE SmackDown Live 26/6/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown live was a decent show that provided a consisted build to extreme rules. Why you may ask? Well i'm gonna tell you what's good, what's ok and what's bad in non chronological order. Now on with the review.

WHAT'S GOOD

Rusev's promo after the opening match

The Super Athlete promises to take the WWE Title from AJ Styles and make WWE Extreme Rules a great Rusev Day.

That promo was AMAZING and it's not only because i'm a fan of his ok. But it's because he gave the sense of intensity and seriousness at the same time. It's not fun and games when there's a WWE title feud going on. Now i know some will ask "Where's Aj styles?" Well the champion doesn't have to appear on every show. Kinda like NXT and how they handle their main champion.

Becky lynch is on a roll as of late

WWE Photo

Tom Phillips on commentary brought up an interesting observation that becky lynch beat Charlotte clean, beat billie kay (which doesn't mean anything to me)  and sonya deville tonight. In other words, becky lynch has momentum and i hope WWE maintains the momentum she's having as of late. If asuka beats carmella at extreme rules then, i would LOVE to see a match between asuka and becky for the championship at summerslam.

WHAT'S OK

Lana and naomi met the cast of GLOW (except kharma aka awesome kong)

The segment was ok. Didn't piss me off or anything like that but i'm FUCKING excited for GLOW season 2 next week. I'm definitely going to binge watch the show. If you haven't seen the show, do yourself a favour and watch it. It's only 25 to 30 minutes per episode so you can binge it less than a day really.

The opening segment

Miz tells Harper & Rowan that they all proved how easy it was to dismantle Daniel Bryan on SmackDown LIVE last week.

The segment was ok. Miz was great as usual on the microphone and yes the feud with daniel and the bludgoen brother's is nothing intriguing or special but it gives something for luke harper and erick rowan to do rather than not been used on TV. Now speaking of the bludgeon brothers.........

Daniel bryan vs luke harper

The match was decent but if they went further, it would've been a pretty good match. Would've love to see this match later down the road. Now what do i think about the return of team hell no? Well on one hand, the tag team division is in direr need of quality tag teams and team hell no were a great tag team. On the other hand, WWE needs to explain why Kane is on smackdown now considering that he was on RAW roster before but they didn't explain why kane came back from smackdown to RAW several months ago so i don't see WWE explaining or acknowledging the fact that kane was on RAW before.

James ellsworth calls out asuka

Paige reveals that Ellsworth knows for a fact that Asuka is with her family in Japan tonight…

So the rumours were kinda true. What do you mean by that you ask? Well according to Bryan Alvarez of the wrestling observer, he speculated that an intergender match was going to happen at extreme rules. Here's what he said and transcript is from ringside news:

“It’s not official yet but that’s certainly the rumor […] We’ve seen mixed tags, we had one at WrestleMania. We just can’t have the men beat up the women. The women can beat up the men. So basically you have to do a match where Asuka beats up James Ellsworth but he doesn’t lay a hand on her and Asuka and Carmella beat each other up and then somehow you do a finish."

So a match is in place. Asuka vs james ellsworth next week. The segment itself was fine but i really liked paige in this especially and i didn't i mentioned that paige has been a FANTASTIC general manager of smackdown live so far?

WHAT'S BAD

The six man tag match

Now the match itself was actually pretty entertaining. However, the reason why it is on what's bad is because sanity lost in their main roster debut match. I mean they should look at least somewhat dominate but even WWE creative could do that aspect right. Hoping they can pick up from this considering that the tag team division on both brands is pretty thin in my opinion.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
