WWE Smackdown 1/4/22 | A Coherent Review

We're just hours before Wrestlemania aka the show that I had the same amount of anticipation as the new Morbius movie.

How did the blue brand pull off this week? Well, more people on my Twitter timeline (@omartheplayaguy press z follow me) were talking about Samoa Joe's return at ROH's latest PPV than this episode so that should tell you everything.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

For the second time in a row, the battle royal happened on an episode of Smackdown and not on the pre-show, which I'm happy about because the last thing I wanna see is watching a meaningless match at 5 am in the morning. Anything that saves time is an automatic positive in my book.

Midcap Moss won the entire thing. I don't even remember who won last year's match so I'll probably forget about it in a day or so.

Speaking of which, later in the show, Drew McIntyre showed up during the Happy Corbin talk show segment and proceeded to destroy everything on sight using his sword.

Coooooooool.

Ricochet vs Angel vs Humberto For The Intercontinental Championship.

A solid match for what it was. The finish though was fantastic. Ricochet delivered the 630 to Angel followed by the recoil to Humberto for the victory.

Sasha Banks And Naomi vs Queen Zelina Vega And Carmella.

Aka a match that was originally planned for Wrestlemania. Seeing Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley on the outside, you know where this leads but to my surprise, no such brawl occurred.

Two former members of team BAD defeated the tag champs with a quick moonsault to Vega.

Rick Boogs vs Jimmy Uso.

This was aight. Austin Theory's shenanigans on to Pat McAfee (that had Finn Balor eventually hit Austin *Michael Cole's voice*from behind) is what led to this match ending via a DQ.

And you know what happened after that? An impromptu 6 man tag team match, Playas. Nothing screams WWE's writing quite like this.

The bad guys won the bout with the Ataxia to Finnie Baylord.

Austin Theory pinned both the intercontinental champion and the United States champion. Yea, not good if you want to build a healthy midcard act.

Charlotte Flair Was Like, "Ronda, You Think You Can Rip My Arm Off!? Well, That's F**king Bullsh*t M8 Because I'll Destroy You Like Every Critic Review Of Morbius!"

After those words were uttered, don't you think she has a better chance of retaining the title because that headline certainly convinced ya boy. I mean come on, it's not that she's never said the word "mate", am I right!?

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Ricochet vs Angel vs Humberto and the ending.

Didn't like: the US champion taking Ls like the IC champ on RAW

WWE Smackdown Live 30/10/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown Live yesterday was a skippable show other than the opening segment and match in my opinion. Now usually on my RAW/Smackdown Live review, I break down what's good, what's ok and what's bad. For the first time, I'm only gonna tell you what's ok given that this show was again a skippable show and here we go.  WHAT'S OK The opening segment  This is the probably one of if not most noteworthy moment this week mainly because as you might know, there were reports going around that John Cena and Daniel Bryan were out of Crown Jewel and the reports are indeed true and it makes sense, especially for John Cena considering that he's an actor now and he needs to maintain his PR status. The segment itself was decent. Loved both guys' intensity and that segment leads to a WWE championship match and speaking of which............. Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles  Decent match. Expected a better from these two but again, decent nevertheless but...

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 1/3/21 | A Coherent Review

Bobby Lashley is the NEW WWE champion and all I can say is, what do you expect?  It's not like WWE has ever messed up a performer's momentum, am I right? (That sarcasm was drier than Robert Patterson's sense of humour).  All jokes aside, I thought this show was actually decent.  Here's hoping that next week or the weeks after aren't a stinker.  Images via WWE.com Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus.  Monday Night RAW starting the show with a match is refreshing.  And I immediately spoke too soon as Drew cut a promo before this about how he's had the worst February ever, recapping what happened to him that month.  The Miz and John Morrison came out to tell Drew McIntyre that the Scotsmen is handling the WWE title with loss and wanted the former WWE champion to join him because Miz has a huge target on his back.  McIntyre wasn't having Miz's BS to which MVP told The Miz that he has an hour to defend his championship.  Sheamus showed up and both former men...
