The Very Late Coherent Wrestling Week (aka NXT and AEW Dynamite talk).

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays is back technically speaking for one article due to a unique circumstance (unique, I mean too darn tired to review AEW Dynamite and NXT separately that week).

For those who are new here and don't know what a Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays is (hi to the 2 viewers), basically when NXT and AEW Dynamite aired on the same night, I would recap the show in one article.

Hence, the name "Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays".

The traditional reviews will be back this week though.

NXT

Highlights.

F**k it, Let's Highlight Everything About This Show.

NXT's second-ever Great American PPV show is quite simply 2 hours of fantastic television.

In other words, this show made Takeover: In Your House look like a Curt Hawkins in terms of overall presentation and quality. Here are a few reasons why this past week's NXT was great.

Hit Row gave us THE blackest segment in WWE history since Teddy Long's wedding segment and it's fantastic.

I appreciate the company for embracing something that we haven't seen a whole lot in WWE.

While Msk's negative live crowd reactions are as weird as the time I found out Mass Effect trilogy has actual haters, the tag title bout with Tomasso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher is damn sure of fun.

Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly's unsanctioned bout was, unfortunately, several minutes, minutes and minutes of mediocre which is why my expectations for their latest encounter was kinda low.

And I'm happy to say that those two men delivered a match that fans of the technical style of wrestling would especially appreciate.

That match might be my match of a middle-aged 2021.

The ending of the LA Knight vs Cameron Grimes is literally one of the best finishes I've ever seen.

The main reason is that the yellow brand has done a fantastic job of building Grimes as a sympathetic babyface.

With the stipulation of "if Grimes loses then he's LA's butler" and LA Knight's good job on portraying a piece of sh*te, this entire match and the ending was wrapped up in a neat, satisfying box.

The Way vs Io Shirai and Zoey Stark was a fun tag team match besides the use of the "wrestler gets distracted by another wrestler's music" cliche.

AEW.

Highlights.

The Young Bucks vs Eddie Kingston And Penta El Zero Miedo For The AEW World Tag Team Championship.

This match was nothing but chaos and I loved it.

Unfortunately for Kingston and El Zero Miedo, they couldn't leave Miami as the tag team champions as The Young Bucks retained the titles with a superkick with the help of thumbtacks onto Eddie Kingston's face.

HANGMAN PAGE AND KENNY OMEGA!!

The interview segment with Schiavone, Kenny Omega and Don Callis was kinda there (also, what was Kenny Omega's new look? He legit looks like a person that admitted on f**king, his cousin).

But that moment of face to face confrontation with Omega and Page was damn near special.

I cannot wait for the crowd's reaction when Page takes home the big one.

*Pedro Pascal's Voice In Wonder Woman 84* ALEISTER, ALEISTEEEER!

Talk about a moment to remember. I honestly thought the former Tommy End is going back to WWE at some point later this year so it's really surprising to see him here.

Can't wait for what the striking man from Amsterdam does in the elite brand.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Cody Rhodes defeated QT Marshall in a strap match - Major yawn.

MJF and Chris Jericho contract signing - Am I the only one that thought this segment was kinda mid?

FTR And Wardlow defeated Santana, Ortiz And Jake Hager - A decent match.

Andrade El Idolo defeated Matt Sydal - Another solid match courtesy of two talented individuals.

Orange Cassidy And Kris Statlander vs The Blade And The Bunny - a fine match is all I'll say.

An Amanda Nunes, Lance Archer, Jorge Masvidal And Dan Lambert scene - Dan Lambert basically portrayed himself as the typical anti smark you'll see on the forums back in the 2000s. Cooool.

The question is, what are some of the highlights of both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WrestleFest DXB's Fahrenheit 971 | A Coherent W.

Being a fan of pro wrestling (or any other medium of entertainment) does have its pros and cons when engaging with the industry as a whole.  On one hand, you've witnessed an Eddie Kingston promo that'll make you tear up more than the opening scene of Up.  On the other hand, going to the wrestling subreddit will definitely have you questioning humanity as a whole and the fact that living in an area where a wrestling presence pretty much doesn't exist like a Vince Russo-written storyline that is, you know, GOOD!?  Luckily, the latter retracted my con as a fan because I'm talking about Wrestlefest DXB and their latest joint, "971 Fahrenheit".  Martin Bushby of now Post Wrestling Alumni brought the event to my attention because like a wrestler on an episode of RAW I get distracted all the time.  So, I decided to take a short journey to a taxi then a bus then a train then a 30-minute walk to the show itself and I know I'm going to sound biased as f**k but I l...

Let's Talk About The White Rabbit In The Room.

I haven't reviewed last year's show mainly because it was so good and clearly as extreme as any ECW match and I'm happy to tell all 3 of y'all that this one is better by several inches or so. Why? *slaps my bald head* HERE'S WHY. The opening match between Sheamus and Gunther's crew ruled harder than the Mongolian empire.  It was basically an enhanced version of Sheamus' match with Gunther last night on Smackdown and I loved it.  The Brawling Brutes' victory means one thing that is clearly obvious, a rematch between Sheamus and Gunther for the intercontinental championship aka the only series of rematches I don't mind.  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan delivered in what was a wrestling match equivalent to the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie.  While Bianca Belair and Bayley had their equivalent to the first Iron Man movie in that it was decent.  Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had an okay edition of the "Meaty men slapping meat".  That spear from Edge to...

A Few Thoughts On RAW And Smackdown: RAW wasn't GREAT!?

Since this blog will be less of a priority now considering I'm focusing on my podcast now (hit the 5 stars on Apple Podcast you sons of b*tches), I decided to share my few thoughts on RAW, Smackdown, I guess?  Smackdown.  The blue brand delivered yet another good episode this week and it's probably due to the fact that Braun Strowman taking out the Maximum Model is high-key funny as f**k.  The folks over at Titan Towers are bringing back the essence of their characters whether it's Kevin Owens, Shayna Baszler or in this case, Big Braun himself.   As a fan, you gotta love it, especially since in the case of Strowman, the dude hasn't been the same since he turned heel 4 years ago when feuding with Roman Reigns for the universal title.   Other noteworthy segments include Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the big world universal multiverse galactic cinematic championship.  Imagine they pulled that match off 7 years ago back when Logan was on V...
