WWE RAW 22/3/21 | A Coherent Review.

This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW was yet again, a middle of the road type of show.

Bobby Lashley vs Sheamus.

Just like their encounter that happened last week, the match was just fine.

Cedric Alexander almost cost Bobby Lashley the match but Lashley somehow dodged a potential L.

Unfortunately for Sheamus, he didn't dodge the Full Nelson submission from Lashley as the former 4-time world champion tapped out.

The Hurt Business attacked Sheamus and out came Drew McIntyre. McIntyre showed up and took out Cedric Alexander.

McIntyre WANTED Bobby Lashley to hit him but MVP convinced Lashley to not do it.

In a backstage segment, Bobby Lashley wasn't happy with Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin trying to help the guy beat Sheamus.

MVP then wanted both guys to think about their recent performances in the ring.

All I can say is, I hope this doesn't lead to a Hurt Business break up.

The last thing WWE needs is breaking up teams (except for Retribution of course because that group wasn't going anywhere and the members of Retribution would benefit guys like Mustafa Ali and T Bar riding solo).

Asuka vs Peyton Royce.

This match was surprisingly good. Peyton Royce's work was fantastic throughout the match.

Give me more of Peyton Royce's in-ring work. Royce tapped out of the Asuka Lock and then, Rhea Ripley made an impressive presence with that entrance.

Ripley pretty much challenged Asuka to a match for the RAW women's championship at Wrestlemania and the women's champion accepted the challenge.

F**k yes. And, I'll go as far as to say that Rhea Ripley should win this match.

I'm hoping once Ripley wins, she gets a John Cena WWE championship reign ala 2005 but a man can only dream.

Miz TV.

John Morrison with the Snooki haircut. Don't know if it was an easter egg of his mixed tag team at Wrestlemania 27 but whatever.

The Miz and John Morrison were mad that WWE disrespected them meanwhile, Bad Bunny is getting all the recognition that they apparently deserve.

They then showed a preview of their reggaeton inspired single called "Hey Hey Hop Hop" (Get it? Hop? Bunny? Bad Bunny?).

I'm not gonna lie, the song kinda slaps.

Oh, and Miz challenged Bad Bunny to a good old fashioned wrestling match at Wrestlemania.

Miz had a match with Jeff Hardy and it was okay. Miz defeated Hardy with the skull-crushing Finale to which the guy ate a guitar hit on his back from Bad Bunny.

And, Bunny accepted the match, B*TCH!

Bad Bunny is dedicated and passionate about wrestling so I have faith that the match would be somewhat decent.

Kofi Kingston vs AJ Styles.

Before the match took place, all 4 guys had decent verbal interaction.

The match itself was fine. Because of Xavier Woods' trombone that distracted AJ Styles, Kofi Kingston delivered the SOS to win the match.

Sheamus, annoyed by Riddle, decided to attack the guy with Riddle's scooter. Another potential Wrestlemania match coming.

Drew McIntyre vs Shelton Benjamin And Cedric Alexander Of The Hurt Business. If Drew McIntyre Wins Then Benjamin And Alexander Are Banned From Ringside For The WWE Championship Bout.

Another match that didn't do it much for me. McIntyre wins with a sick looking Claymore kick on Cedric Alexander.

Bobby Lashley offered the rest of the locker room a WWE championship match.

Smart man. Begs the question, who's going to take the offer?

Nia Jax And Shayna Baszler vs Mandy Rose And Dana Brooke.

I mean, who do you think won the match? The women's tag team champions win with a Samoan drop from Nia Jax to Dana Brooke.

Shane O Had A Duet With Elias.

Elias wasn't interrupted by somebody during the duet which is cool, I guess.

Elias faced Braun Strowman for the second time this week and he, of course, lost.

It turns out that Shane O wasn't injured and the guy that wrestling while playing train noises in the background, wanted a one on one match with Shane McMahon and McMahon said yes. Awesome!

Randy Orton Brought Out The Fiend.

The headline above pretty much explained what happened in the final segment of the night.

Bliss did point out the Wrestlemania sign after Randy was knocked out with the mandible claw aka another match confirmed for Wrestlemania.

Fingers crossed that the Orton and The Fiend bout is like the Firefly funhouse match from last year's Wrestlemania.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Asuka vs Peyton Royce and the announcement after that match.

Didn’t like: What was that train noise during the Braun Strowman and Elias match?

WWE Smackdown Live 10/7/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown live was a bad show that did nothing as a wrestling fan to gain any excitement for extreme rules. Why you ask? Well i'm gonna give you what's good. No scratch that, i'm gonna give you what's ok and what's bad. Here we go. WHAT'S OK The opening segment and the brawl after that The opening segment was meh. And the brawl after that was fine. Didn't make me go "OHHHHHHHHHHH" or anything like along those lines. That brawl leads to a TEN MAN TAG TEAM match (Ummmmmm no shit omar). I will say this, the segment kinda teased the fact that maybe kane will turn on his best friend? I don't know. Should be interesting.  Andrade "cien" almas vs Sin cara The match was surprisingly decent. At one point andrade delivered a devastating stomp to sin cara on the ring apron. Andrade wins with a running knee to sin cara on the middle rope. Hoping andrade can move on to bigger and better things.  WHAT'S BAD ...

Should Dave Meltzer Get Rid Of His Rating System?

So a few weeks ago, good old Dave Meltzer of the wrestling observer newsletter gave the Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny omega match at dominion 2018 a 7-star rating. According to the interent wrestling database , this match is by far his HIGHEST match rating ever (i don't blame him because the match was amazing). So statistically, this is his favourite match of all time . Now, why I'm writing this now?  Well, his best match ratings have been a consistent 5 stars since 1983 with the exception of all the Omega vs Okada matches and the Mitsuharu Misawa vs Toshiaki Kawada match at AJPW's Budokan hall show in June of 1994.  There are fans that take his match ratings as an offence somehow like "Why he rates X match better than Y match?" or thinks that he "hates" WWE which is ridiculous considering that he gave three WWE matches a 5 star ratings just this past year. One was the ladder match to crown the first ever NXT North American champion, the Johnny Garga...

The Obsession With Ratings. Warranted Or Not?

(Just a bit of a heads-up, this article contains a lot of the word "ratings").  Rating. Rating. Rating. It is a word that you see or hear many times throughout your wrestling fandom but why is that?  Well, it's interesting to see how your weekly consumption does by the numbers every week.  However, that conversation can turn the other way.  The toxic, " logic-filled" , gatekeeping way that is (you see why I muted the word "rating" on Twitter?).  Fans have been talking about TV ratings for years but that discussion has skyrocketed once AEW Dynamite and NXT airs on the same night every week ya know because wrestling fans am I right?  Before I answer the question of whether the obsession with TV ratings is warranted or not, I'll first have to briefly describe the Nielsen rating (which is an American TV rating system. No sh*t, Omar).  A Summary Of The History Of The Nielsen Ratings.  The Nielsen rating system was introduced...
