The 5 News Week: WWE Hitting The Road Once Again!?

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately. Without further ado, here are the 5 news week.

Johnny Ace Back On Being The Talent Relations For WWE.

John Laurinaitis returning as the talent relations for world wrestling entertainment aka big f**king yikes.

From F4WOnline and Dave Meltzer, Johnny is *sigh* back on the talent relations side of WWE and will be reporting to WWE's executive vice president of operations, Brad Blum.

The article did go on to mention that the talent relations side division has been split into "talent management and talent branding".

Fightful select has some additional information on this story about the backstage reaction of the news and pretty much, some of the talents weren't too happy with the news.

Keep in mind that WWE hasn't officially confirmed this news.

I don't need to say anything other than yuck.

Cliff Compton On The Idea Of The Deuce And Domino Act Going Modern.

Cliff Compton aka Domino of Deuce 'n Domino "fame", recently spoke with Lucha Libre Online.

During the interview, Cliff revealed that the Deuce 'n Domino was going to be revamped by adding Maryse and removing Cherry (the on-screen manager for the former tag team champions) but it didn't pan out (shout out to Andrew Thompson of Post Wrestling for the transcript):

"That’s an example of there was an idea and it was with Maryse and she was kinda gonna intervene with Deuce and Domino and in storyline and she wanted to push Cherry out and Maryse was a very — in those days, her character was very — she was pretty shrewd.

She was mean, she was beautiful, she knew it and she wanted to push Cherry who was Deuce’s girlfriend and my sister and she was gonna manage us and the original idea was she was gonna modernize Deuce and Domino, take us — because with Deuce and Domino, we didn’t think we were in the 50s.

We clearly knew it was 2008, it was just our look, but she was gonna kind of fancy us up and it was gonna be a much bigger deal than it turned out to be.

It just didn’t pan out and that happens so much in that line of work so there was this long couple of months storyline with Maryse and Cherry and there were talks of feuding with different teams and we were gonna be swapping managers but it never really panned out and it just kind of fizzled which is unfortunate but that happens in WWE.

Every wrestler will tell you that happens. I wish the original plan happened because it was gonna be a lot of fun.

It just, it never panned out unfortunately and it just kind of — Deuce and Domino just kind of broke up and everyone was like, ‘Well what happened?’ And they just didn’t go with the original plan but that happens all the time. It happens to everybody."

I wasn't a fan of the act in general. I thought it was too vintage for my taste but I haven't seen the act since I was a kid *clicks on a random episode of Smackdown in 2007*.

WWE Hitting The Road Once Again!?

Well, this is interesting (yea, no sh*t, Omar).

This piece of news came from an article on Yahoo detailing the WWE Network move to NBC's Peacock (sounds funny after reading the last line).

In it, the piece mentioned the location options for the Thunderdome since the current host of the Thunderdome, Tropicana field has a home opener for Tampa Bay Rays on April 9th (had to Google the word "home opener") and the possibility of touring in July.

Now, that doesn't mean WWE is going to hit the road again in July.

It was just vaguely added in a piece that was primarily focused on WWE's partnership with Peacock.

Who's The Heel And The Babyface Regarding The Shane McMahon And Braun Strowman Feud?

Well, Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio will answer that for ya.

Meltzer said that Shane O is the bad guy in this storyline while Braun Strowman is the good guy quote (from Give me sports):

"Although the Shane McMahon – Braun Strowman stuff tonight was like at the highest level. This was just…the mentality is they’re trying to find a way for Shane McMahon to be the heel so the idea is he’s just going to be this d*** making fun of the dumb guy.”

If this is a way to build SYMPATHY FOR Braun Strowman then WWE got their storytelling basis wrong.

If anything, it makes Shane the babyface because Braun (the character) is acting like a Goddamn idiot since his suspension in December that could've been avoided had Braun not headbutted Adam Pearce.

AEW Revolution Is The Highest Grossing Non-WWE PPV!?

From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Dave Meltzer (shout out to pro wrestling news hub), All Elite Wrestling's latest PPV brought in the best PPV numbers for not only the company itself but for any other non-WWE show since 1999.

The money they generated was $6 million but it might exceed $7 million.

This is great news for not only AEW but for the entire wrestling industry.

It's so refreshing to hear that a company that isn't WWE is doing pretty well.

And well deserved because the PPV was fun (click here to read more of my thoughts on Revolution).

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy? Anyways, stay safe smarks.

WWE RAW 16/8/21 | A Coherent Review.

Another week, another L for the red brand in terms of overall quality. And they do not need that L considering that it's the final show before this year's SummerSlam event.  Images via WWE.com   Randal Keith Orton And Riddal Are Back Together?  Randy explained his actions last week, stating that he simply doesn't owe anyone an explanation because he's Randy Orton (okay?).  Out came the most obnoxious person in Riddle and he wanted RKBRO to reunite. Styles showed up to hype up his big goof in Omos.  That RKO last week was as confusing as the thought of Jupiter Ascending being a "good movie".    The question is, did the band realigned themselves once again?  The answer was a soft no if you stopped watching the show after the Riddle and AJ Styles match (I don't blame ANYONE that stops watching Monday Night RAW).  However, that became a solid yes after Randy's bout with Omos. Am I the only one that feels kinda mid about this?  It's not terri...

The 5 News Week: What's With The Story Of WWE Will Possibly Put Their Content On A Different OTT?

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.  This past week was filled with news so  fasten your virtual seat belts because this is gonna be a long one. Without further ado, here are The 5 News Week.  What's With The Story That WWE Will Possibly Put Their Content On A Different OTT?  This confusion all started when some fans (including myself) saw the headline from a well-respected publication "WWE In Talks Talks to Sell PPV Rights to Another ‘Major’ Streaming Service." That publication is The Wrap and the article pretty much talked about what Vinne Mac said in the Q4 2019 earnings report about the possibility of putting their content to a major streaming service or enhance the prize point to a tiered payment but the deal to quote The Wrap " if made — would be announced by next month.". Did the old man say this? Let...

WWE Smackdown Live 10/7/18 | My Coherent Review.

Smackdown live was a bad show that did nothing as a wrestling fan to gain any excitement for extreme rules. Why you ask? Well i'm gonna give you what's good. No scratch that, i'm gonna give you what's ok and what's bad. Here we go. WHAT'S OK The opening segment and the brawl after that The opening segment was meh. And the brawl after that was fine. Didn't make me go "OHHHHHHHHHHH" or anything like along those lines. That brawl leads to a TEN MAN TAG TEAM match (Ummmmmm no shit omar). I will say this, the segment kinda teased the fact that maybe kane will turn on his best friend? I don't know. Should be interesting.  Andrade "cien" almas vs Sin cara The match was surprisingly decent. At one point andrade delivered a devastating stomp to sin cara on the ring apron. Andrade wins with a running knee to sin cara on the middle rope. Hoping andrade can move on to bigger and better things.  WHAT'S BAD ...
