WWE Smackdown 12/2/21 | A Coherent Review.

Smackdown didn't pull off the usual good episode this week because it was average.

But, I'll take average over mediocre or bad (looking at you Monday Night RAW).

Roman Reigns Has A Blockbuster Announcement.

The head of the table started off this program once again and this time, he has a blockbuster announcement (hasn't mentioned anything that was "blockbuster" worthy).

Reigns insulted Edge, saying that if Edge chooses him, he'll beat him so badly that he'll get a legends contract (that was a funny line).

Adam Pearce told Roman Reigns that he'll defend the championship inside the Elimination Chamber and there will be qualifying matches but only two guys will not be in the qualifying matches.

Kevin Owens and Reigns' cousin, Jey Uso.

Other than the usual greatness from Roman Reigns, this was an okay opening act.

Nothing that was really too good to write home about ya know.

Rey And Dominik Mysterio vs Sami Zayn And King Corbin. Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match.

Having a qualifying match being conducted in a tag team match is an odd decision yet I don't hate it given that the Elimination Chamber PPV is in 2 weeks.

It was weird though that Pearce didn't give the Elimination Chamber spot to Nakamura given that he was screwed out of a title opportunity during the gauntlet match week's back.

By far, the best thing about this match was Dominik Mysterio's athleticism.

Unfortunately for him, he took the pin from Sami Zayn via a hall kick.

Apollo Crews Ain't Done With Big E Yet.

Apollo Crews came out to challenge Big E for the championship once again but Big E said that he'll rather challenge Michael Cole or the janitor for the IC title than Apollo Crews.

Crews wasn't too happy with that. Shinsuke Nakamura instead challenged him for the championship and the match ended via a DQ because Apollo Crews drop-kicked Big E.

I would be pissed if I was Shinsuke Nakamura, to be honest. Nevertheless, Apollo Crews is finally a heel or at least that's what it looks like.

And all I can say is, FINALLLLLLLY! I liked how Big E didn't want to defend the title against the same person.

It killed off the "babyface giving championship opportunities to the same person" cliche which is something I'm sure all of us are happy with.

Seth Rollins Is Back.

The SmackDown superstars were surrounding the ring and Seth Rollins showed up with his "burn it down" theme song.

Rollins showed his true colours as he calls himself the great leader and the rest of the superstars left immediately not wanting to hear Seth Rollins' BS once more.

All except for Cesaro and he also didn’t want to have anything to do with Seth Rollins.

Rollins attacked Cesaro before he teamed up with Daniel Bryan to face Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode to qualify for the Elimination Chamber.

I feel like I'm the only one that actually enjoyed Seth Rollins as the Monday Night Messiah. Hell, I even liked the majority of his feud with Rey Mysterio.

However, this segment didn't do it for me. In other words, It was disappointing.

Rollins pulled the "started as a babyface promo that turned into a heel promo" cliche which wasn't good.

Also, that leather suit would sweat a LOT if I was wearing it.

Bayley vs Liv Morgan.

That code-breaker from Liv Morgan was too sweeeeeet!

Oh, and Bayley won the match due to Billie Kay screwing things up again.

The Street Profits vs Chad Gable And Otis.

Had WWE given them more time, it would've been a good match but it was decent for what it was.

I could watch Gabe and Dawkins wrestle for an entire hour.

Such great performers to watch.

The Street Profits took the W with a beautiful frog splash from Montez Ford onto Chad Gable.

Why are Nia Jax And Shayna Baszler On Smackdown!?

Well, they confronted Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair because "they're the most dominant tag team".

To which, Sasha played the video of Nia Jax shouting "MY HOLE" and then a brawl ensued between all 4 women.

Not gonna lie, this was a waste of a segment due to the fact that it accomplished nothing.

Daniel Bryan And Cesaro vs Dolph Ziggler And Robert Roode. Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match.

Hey, this was a good main event match. The good guys win with the sharpshooter.

But then, every participant in the Elimination Chamber match beat the hell out of each other to end this week's episode of Smackdown.

It was at least better than the way Smackdown ended a few weeks ago with Braun Strowman coming back.

So, to recap for all of you slow mofos.

Like: Apollo Crews heel turn, Daniel Bryan and Cesaro vs Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, Roman Reigns in the opening act.

Didn't like: Sasha Banks/Bianca Belair/Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler segment, Seth Rollins segment.

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
