WWE RAW 8/2/21 | A Somewhat Coherent Review.

I didn't hate last week's episode. This week? Well, I definitely hated it because it, like the majority of the RAW shows, lacked consequences and most importantly, interest.

So, I'm doing a half-a** review.

The Elimination Chamber Announcement.

The announcement from Shane McMahon at the beginning of the program (which honestly was a waste of an appearance) with the participants in the match all being former world champions, reminded me of when the company pulled the same stunt of "participants as former world champions" for the 2012 Money In The Bank ladder match for the WWE championship.

I didn't like it then and I damn sure didn't like it now.

If they wrote in qualifying matches for the traditional Survivor Series match 4 or so months ago, then why not for the Elimination Chamber?

I was a fan of Sheamus' heel turn last week but after this announcement, I feel like the turn should've happened after the chamber show and not before it.

The Elimination Chamber match, in my opinion, will either distract the feud between Drew and Sheamus or the feud will overshadow the Chamber match itself.

I would argue that it should've been a one on one match between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus and instead have Roman Reigns defend the universal title inside the Elimination Chamber structure (they might announce that chamber match this Friday so who knows?).

This Match.

This match sucked. This feud sucks and God, I hope they do not give the RAW women's title to Lacey Evans once she faces Asuka.

*sigh* Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton.

I was surprised that Alexa Bliss didn't show up given how the match between Edge and Orton ended.

Can both guys not face each other for at least several months to a year?

At least I have a few positives like.

That Edge promo after The Miz and John Morrison showed up.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I've been more engaged with whatever The Miz and John Morrison are doing but that's mainly because they're interacting with Damian Priest and everybody's favourite, Bad Bunny.

The New Day vs Retribution was a good one. Nia Jax shouting "MY HOLE!" during her match with Lana.

But, it's the same old Monday Night RAW, am I right?

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
