A Brief Guide To Pro Wrestling Websites.

So. You just become a fan of pro wrestling and have dabbled into the fandom for a bit (it's a mess ain't it?)

You've just followed some news sites' social media platforms but aren't sure whether the articles they put out are accurate or not. 

Well, you got the right guy to solve that problem if it's from a blog that barely gets any traction (that would be me in case you were confused). 

The news we get from the medium that is pro wrestling is an integral part of the online space. 

The reason being is that it's not only a great conversation starter but you could also learn something new today about the industry you love. 

That doesn't mean that all of the news you see on the timeline is reliable. 

I'm here to hopefully give you a guide to wrestling sites. 

There are many wrestling websites out there but I wanna highlight some of the notable ones. 

Okay? Here we go. 

#1: Wrestling Observer Newsletter aka F4WOnline. 


I can't talk about a guide to pro wrestling outlets without mentioning the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also known as F4WOnline. 

Dave Meltzer has been putting out the Wrestling Observer Newsletter since the early 80s but it wasn't until 2008 that it merged with Bryan Alvarez's Figure Four Weekly. 

Hence, why the site's domain name is f4wonline.com. 

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is, of course, a newsletter that looks at the world of professional wrestling 

It is a subscription so keep that in mind. But, there are outlets that cover key highlights of the Observer. 

The F4WOnline website itself does report on wrestling news as well as hosting some audio content like The Wrestling Observer Radio and Wrestling Observer Live. 

Speaking of audio content, you guys should all check out a show from their line up called "Speak Now Pro Wrestling" hosted by Denise Salcedo. 

The format is her recapping NXT and AEW and discussing the latest topics while engaging with her audience because it's live-streamed every Wednesday on YouTube. 

#2: PWTorch. 


Wade Keller is another OG in the wrestling media landscape. 

Keller has been pumping out his newsletter, PWTorch since he was 16 years old back in 1987. 

Like Wrestling Observer Newsletter/F4WOnline, PWTorch has lots of audio content like their post-show rundowns, exclusive interviews and columns. 

The post-show podcasts and the interviews are free but their ad-free podcasts, PWTorch VIP isn't. 

Because of PWTorch, I discovered one of my favourite Twitter accounts, @CeeHawk. 

Make sure you follow him if you need some laughter in your timeline. 

#3: Wrestling Inc. 


Wrestling Inc is a website that publishes anything pro wrestling no matter how major or minor the news is.

Wrestling Inc also releases exclusive news from time to time that is reliable. 

This is a high recommendation if you wanna be caught up in what's going on. 

#4: PWInsider. 


PWInsider is known for one thing in my opinion, a mobile responsive web design that doesn't exist. 

Nevertheless, PWInsider's exclusive reports are accurate at least 99% of the time (in my opinion. Not a real statistic). 

Whenever they publish an exclusive article, sites like Wrestling Inc will write an article about it. 

That's how accurate they are. 

PWInsider also provides a Q and A session where they answer the readers’ questions and the questions ain't bad either. 

I actually learned why certain wrestlers aren't featured on TV from that Q and A alone. 

#5: Post Wrestling. 


This is a website that is newer compared to the outlets I just talked about. 

Post Wrestling started in 2017 which is just a year older than my blog. 

One of the things that makes Post Wrestling sort of unique is their news update. 

One of their writers, Andrew Thompson does those news updates twice a week. 

I have to give him props because he does all the news gathering and all the transcriptions for certain interviews. 

The co-founder, John Pollock does his own news update with a bit of commentary in it which makes this stand out from Andrew's news update. 

Post Wrestling occasionally reports on exclusive breaking news which so far has been on the money based on the accuracy of their reports. 

They do have a collection of podcasts. Some are recaps of major wrestling programming. 

However, there is one podcast in their schedule where the aforementioned, Andrew Thompson and Martin Bushby talk about old wrestling shows. 

Another website that you guys should definitely keep an eye on. 

#6: Fightful. 


Fightful is an entity that isn't known for just pro wrestling. 

They write about MMA, boxing and recently, gaming but in the wrestling, boxing and MMA bubble. 

Sean Ross Sapp is quite literally the face of the Fightful brand. 

Not only he puts out exclusive wrestling news every single day on their premium service, Fightful Select. 

But, he also hosts some of the Fightful podcasts like the RAW, Smackdown and WWE PPV reviews. 

Fightful also hosts a podcast in which two guys (Joe Hulbert and Jeremy Lambert) talk about basketball and wrestling which is why it is a basketball podcast disguised as a wrestling podcast. 


By the way, Sean Ross Sapp has a very intriguing piece coming this Monday about The Royal Rumble called “Inside The Royal Rumble” that includes some inputs from the people that were involved in the process of setting up the Royal Rumble match. 

We’re currently in the Royal Rumble season after all so the timing is truly superb. I’ll link it here once the feature is up on their site.

WWE NXT Takeover: Toronto | My Coherent Review.

Another month or so, another great NXT Takeover event courtesy of the NXT creative team filled with top-notch in-ring action and storytelling. I know it feels tiresome when you heard people praise highly talk about the Takeover shows but trust me they are that good.  The Street Profits vs The Undisputed Era for the NXT Tag Team Championship. During the match, Montez Ford delivered the people's elbow after hitting a spinebuster on Bobby Fish. The match ended with a frog splash from Montez Ford and The Street Profits continues to celebrate as tag team champions.  I'm very conflicted with this decision mainly because I don't want to see more okay matches between The Forgotten Sons and Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan but I'm going to be optimistic hoping that it's not the case.  Io Shirai vs Candice Lerae.  Io's theme song is simple yet badass at the same time (no shit, Omar). WWE RAW 17/9/18 | My Coherent Review.

RAW was a mediocre show that had some redeeming qualities but for the most part again, it was a mediocre show. Why you ask? Well, I'm gonna tell you what's good, what's ok and what's bad. Here we go.  WHAT'S GOOD Dean Ambrose vs Drew McIntyre   Good match. It was surprisingly hard hitting in my opinion but there was a dumb babyface moment where dean jumped from a ring post and Drew reversed it and instead Dean hit himself on the barricade. After that, Drew hit the claymore kick and wins the match.  The opening segment  Overall, the segment was pretty good but the most interesting thing I've noticed in this segment was Roman Reigns' promo before Strowman showed up. In my opinion, he has come a LONG way in terms of mic skills. Don't get me wrong he's not "the best talker in WWE right now" but he has improved a lot. But that didn't stop me from thinking that the main event of that show was boring as hell. Lio rush....

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 .major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.
