The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: The Great American Bash Is Back And It's Better Than Fyter Fest 2020?

Two shows that have a PPV feel to it which means only one thing, wHy'S nXt cOpInG aEw?

All sarcasm aside, I think both shows did execute a solid PPV lite show but who had the better showcase? NXT's Great American Bash or AEW'S Fyter Fest?

In my opinion, I gotta go with NXT just because it had better pacing than Fyter Fest.  Fyter Fest just felt slow at times.

NXT

Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).

Mia Yim vs Dakota Kai vs Tegan Nox vs Candice LeRae. Elimination Match Winner Faces The Women's Champion For The Title.

WWE Photo

Yim eliminated LeRae with Seoul Food but unfortunately, she herself was eliminated by Dakota Kai with a bridging roll-up.

After a fun back and forth, Tegan Nox wins the match and has the right to challenge Io Shirai for the women's championship.

Like I said earlier, the last half of the match with Nox and Kai was really good and I can't wait for Marvellous Tegan to face Io Shirai for the championship.

Timothy Thatcher vs Oney Lorcan.

As a technical wrestling geek, I f'ing enjoyed the sh*t out of that match. It made my fandom for that style of wrestling so proud.

Lorcan used his head at one point, to apply pressure on Thatcher's back after Lorcan grabbed Thatcher's arm.

Minutes after that, Oney nailed the single-leg Boston crap however, Timothy Thatcher reversed it into a modified version of it.

The match concluded with an armbar from Timothy Thatcher to win this match. So far, my match of the night.

Keith Lee And Adam Cole Promote Their Champion vs Champion Winner Take All Encounter.

The production value in this video highlight was damn sorts of amazing. Can't wait for the match next week.

Io Shirai vs Sasha Banks.

WWE Photo

A match that fans including myself, were looking forward to and I'm glad that they wrote this in the main event because it's a dream match for a lot of professional wrestling fans.

The million-dollar question is, did it deliver? Yes. Sasha Banks' Meteora never and I repeat, NEVER gets old.

Shirai locked in the bank's statement and while Bayley was arguing with the referee, Asuka spat on Sasha with the green mist.

Io took that to the sky with the moonsault and won the match. I didn't mind the ending given that they're further building Asuka's feud with the Legit Boss.

Some Other Things That Happened.

That was a cool finish

Rhea Ripley vs Robert Stone And Aliyah - Other than the Newly Bro Show from a couple months back, this was the most main roster thing I've ever seen.

To put it simply, it's f'ing lame but at least the way the match ended with a double cloverleaf from Ripley on Stone and Aliyah was cool.

Dexter Lumis vs Roderick Strong In A Strap Match - This was aight. You had Bobby Fish interfere in the match which led to a kick from Roderick and Lumis kicked out of that one.

Dexter then locked in the headlock of some sort and that was followed with a W for the big man. I guess Strong didn't conquer his fears.

Santos Escobar Believes That Lucha Libre Is More Than Just "Flips" - Santos' entire motive is to restore the roots of Lucha Libre in the best image possible.

Drake Maverick came out and he didn't buy all of that so he ate a bit of a 3 on 1 beating from Escobar's guards. Drake got some help in Breezango.

Because of it, a 6 man tag match was scheduled for next week's episode of NXT: Great American Bash edition which should be a solid bout.

AEW

Highlights (we get it, it's subjective).

Hikaru Shida vs Penelope Ford For The AEW Women's Championship.

This must be a great night for women's wrestling across both brands because this was an amazing match.

During the match, Ford delivered a beautiful cutter to a near fall. Shida still gets to keep her title with a shining wizard to end a great bout.

Santana And Ortiz vs Private Party.

I don't know if I said this before or not but I'm glad that Private Party has a different theme song.

I guess during the match, Santana and Ortiz gave Isiah Cassidy and Marq Quen some "shots, shots, shots, shots" (get it? Shots meaning punches and that's how Private Party's theme song starts? I'll stop).

Nevertheless, that was a good tag match which is not surprising given that they've wrestled before in the New York area. Private Party defeats Santana and Ortiz with gin and juice.

Some Other Things That Happened.

MJF And Wardlow vs The Jurassic Express In Jungle Boy And Luchasaurus - Before the opening contest took place, MJF cut a promo about how he brought Jungle Boy to the best match of his career.

This was an okay match. Due to some miscommunications between MJF and Wardlow, the Jurassic Express took that as a head start to finish the match with a standing moonsault from Luchasaurus on Wardlow.

Cody vs Jake Hager For The TNT  Championship - Not gonna lie, this was a dull match. Cody won the match by reversing a triangle hold from Jake Hager.

Looks like we're getting a sequel to a boring first movie or match in this case.

AEW Announced A Puppy Battle Royal For Next Week's Edition Of Fyter Fest - *John Oliver's voice* Cool.

Kenny Omega And Hangman Page vs Best Friends For The AEW World Tag Team Championship - I expected better from all 4 men because that match was disappointing.

Don't get me wrong, it was okay but I was anticipating a better match than that. It was interesting to watch FTR being friendly with the champs. Oh, and the champions retained with a clothesline from Page to Trent.

The question is, what are some of the highlights on both episodes in your opinion? Let me know in the comments below and follow me on Twitter @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks.

AEW Dynamite Blood And Guts | A Coherent Review.

Another watchable episode of AEW Dynamite but this time, it features the first-ever Blood And Guts encounter. Kenny Omega And Michael Nakazawa vs Jon Moxley And Eddie Kingston.  Don Callis announced that Michael Nakazawa is going to face Mox and Kingston all by himself only for Kenny Omega to show up and compete in the match anyway.  A weird booking choice but I'm just nitpicking.  What wasn't weird was how the match ended with a double team dragon suplex into a clothesline from the duo of Mox and Kingston to Nakazawa.  Then, a beatdown ensued from Omega's Posse to Jonny Mox and Eddie Kingston. The Young Bucks vs Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston? I'm down.  It was revealed later in the night that a number one contenders match for the AEW championship is set up for next week's show between Orange Cassidy and Pac. I'm assuming AEW is saving the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega encounter for All Out?  Either way, AEW has the potential to tell an interesting story of ...

WWE RAW 5/10/20 | A Coherent Review.

I have not said this in a RAW review in a very long time but the show as a whole was straight up dogsh*t awful.  It's so bad that I didn't like one ounce about this program.  pictures via wwe.com Randy Orton Remembers His Match At Clash Of Champions.  The show started off with Randy Orton recalling certain aspects about the WWE championship match at Clash Of Champions.  Orton goes on to say that Drew doesn't deserve the championship because the legends interfered in the ambulance match.  The promo ended with Orton bringing up the fact that he beat up four legends last week on RAW (again, explain the physics behind this?).  Drew showed up and he laid waste on the guy.  Randy has been quite exceptional in the dialogue department but this ain't it.  The promo actually put me to sleep and the show didn't even hit 10 minutes up until that point.  If they suddenly end the rivalry like nothing happened, while it doesn't make sense, I'm all for it be...

WWE NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff | My Coherent Review.

via WWE I don't watch or review the first NXT UK Takeover for some odd reason but I'm so glad I did because that was like the main NXT Takeovers, was absolutely great to watch. I'm just speechless and if you have watched the show then you'll know why (also, if you somehow didn't watch this show, what are you doing? Go and treat yourself with some wrestling goodness.) Noam Dar vs Travis Banks.  A very enjoyable opening match. Noam Dar proves that he's great at what he does with so many submission holes because if you don't know, I'm a technical wrestling connoisseur. Noam Dar won the match with a standing shining wizard.  Cesaro vs Ilja Dragunov. Always great to see Cesaro do what he does best and that's a fight inside the square circle. So, Ilja called out Cesaro because Cesaro's looking for an open challenge and Cesaro obviously picked his challenger.  The Swiss Cyborg started off this match by throwing Dragunov to the outside ...
