WWE Smackdown 29/5/20 | A Coherent Review.

Other than the opening act, I thought this was a good effort from the blue brand once again.  One other thing that bothered me about this episode was that it lacked some continuation for the universal championship feud other than a highlight clip but I'm just nitpicking.  A Car Accident Happened!?  The episode started off with a car accident that got Elias badly hurt and Braun Strowman watching all of this unfold, telling Kalya Braxton that he hopes that somebody catches that SOB that did this.  The person that was also hurt and was behind was Jeff Hardy and it involved some alcohol in his system. Because of it, Hardy was arrested and taken to a local police station for further investigation.  That was my biggest fear for the drinking Hangman Page persona and now, it is Jeff Hardy's story you know, the same guy that had ACTUAL DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROBLEMS IN THE PAST!?  This is so wrong in so many ways. Turning someone's person...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...

WWE RAW 25/5/20 | A Coherent Review.

Other than a few nitpicks, I thought this episode of RAW was to put it simply, fantastic. The only thing I disliked though was, unfortunately, the use of NXT trainees as members of the audience.  They didn't enhance the show and if anything, the empty setting in my opinion actually worked for the most part.  AEW, however, executed the “wrestlers as crowds' ' idea much, much better (here comes the " sHuT uP AEW mArK' ' mentality).  In other words, It's one of those, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" type of decision.  Kevin Owens Show. Special Guest, Asuka.  Owens praised the NXT superstars that were as members of the audience and introduced his guest, the RAW women's champion, Asuka.  Kevin asked the champ about what Nia Jax said to her last week.  As she wanted to add some words, out came the NXT women's champion, then Natalya and then Nia Jax and they all (with the exception of Natalya apologizing to...

A Guide On How To Improve Wrestling Criticism Vol.2

Last spring, I wrote an article about how to critique pro wrestling better aka "a guide on how to improve wrestling criticism" . I got some positive takes on it but the question is, why did I produce the second edition?  Well, you have to thank the awful videos and articles that I, unfortunately, consumed but at least, I wrote down some notes that contained the number of bad critiques that I was passionately blasted down on.  Like I mentioned in last year's piece, I am just an average fan that doesn't claim to be an expert in any form of criticism because YouTube will definitely give you the "I'm right, you're wrong" type of content.  This is just a learning process for not only the viewers reading this but myself as we all are trying to get better.  Without further explanation, let's guide you  to a better critique in wrestling (at least I hope so) numbra dos.  #1. Focusing Too Much On Logic (and no, I'm not talking abou...

AEW Double Or Nothing 2020 | A Coherent Review.

AEW had a big mission to accomplish ever since their announcement as a wrestling entity and that is to deliver an enjoyable and memorable PPV titled " Double Or Nothing ." That mission was successful both critically and financially.  And yet, due to the unique times, we're living in, Double Or Nothing managed to score a second W in the show's history. This was an entertaining 3 and a half hours of professional wrestling. Oh, and I've not seen the preshow match so I can't talk about it.  Frank Kazarian vs Joey Janela (replacing Rey Fenix due to an injury) vs Scorpio Sky vs Darby Allin vs Kip Sabian vs Christopher Daniels vs Orange Cassidy vs Colt Cabana vs Luchasaurus vs Brian Cage. Casino Ladder  Number One Contender's Match For The AEW World Championship.  The match started off as a gauntlet match which is a unique take for a multi-person ladder match that definitely separates from the rest. During the match, Allin tried to deliver a move thr...
