The 5 News Week: Natalya On Co-Starring A "Possible" Sequel To The Movie "The Wrestler", PJ Black On Cutting A Promo About Flowers To Vince McMahon.

Hello, my fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the 5 news week. The post where I report 5 major or minor news of the week that I don't have time to do it separately.

By the way guys, this is the last 5 News Week of the year but don't worry, I'm going to post a 5 News Week round-up where I look back at some of the news in the world of professional wrestling throughout out December.  Without further ado, here are the last  5 news week of 2019.

WWE's New Deal With Rusev Is Reportedly A Top Priority.

The former two time United States champion is currently in a storyline that I'm sure everybody loves (sarcasm of course) and the powers that be are keeping him due to Rusev being a top priority.

From Sportskeeda and Tom Colohue, their (Sportskeeda) sources in WWE say that Rusev's body of work and his charisma is what makes the Bulgarian Brute popular with WWE management. Colohue also states quote:

"Vince McMahon himself is said to be very much in Rusev’s corner with no interest in letting the Bulgarian Brute go."

I actually believe this given that Rusev's current program with Bobby Lashley and Lana whether you like it or not, is getting a lot of hits on WWE's YouTube channel which Tom Colohue actually mentioned in his article.

Hell, the most popular video of Denise Salcedo's YouTube channel is her short interview with Bobby Lashley and Lana on the Smackdown 20th anniversary blue carpet. I may not like that storyline but at least Rusev is finally getting some TV time so let's hope that his push stays intact.

Stone Cold's Re-Debut Episode Of His WWE Podcast Show Did Better Than Takeover: WarGames!?

The announcement of Steve Austin's return to the WWE Network in an interview setting got the sports entertainment enthusiasts (I cannot say that with a straight face) excited and that excitement was enhanced when they found out that The Undertaker was his guest.

So, it's not surprising that a rare interview from the deadman did better in numbers than NXT Takeover: WarGames in my humble opinion. From Wrestling Observer Newsletter (shout out to 411mania), that hour and a half interview was the "second most-watched WWE network show". The list of seven top shows of that week were:

1. Survivor Series
2. Broken Skull Sessions (Undertaker)
3. NXT Takeover: War Games
4. Survivor Series Kickoff Show
5. WWE Untold – Sting’s Last Ride
6. Day of WWE Draft
7. 2018 Survivor Series.

Big Dick Johnson Signs With WWE Once More.

This comedic character goes back to World Wrestling Entertainment but not as his on-screen character but rather as a member of the creative team according to PWInsider and Mike Johnson even though he's been in the writing team from 04 till 2010.

Big Dick Johnson, real name Chris DeJoseph, recently left Major League Wrestling or MLW as a co-executive producer a month after he joined with the promotion.

His talks with WWE "predates his entrance with MLW" and he's now getting back to writing for WWE "possibly as soon as this month.'' 2019 has been a year of a soft reboot when it comes to the creative team and will see where that reboot goes.

Natalya On Co-Starring A Possible Sequel To "The Wrestler" Movie.

In the latest Total Divas bonus clip, Natalya reveals that Jason Momoa called her to be his ex in the sequel to the film called "The Wrestler" (great film). When I saw that clip, I was a bit suspicious because after seeing that clip, I looked everywhere at IMDB and nothing came regarding a sequel.

Not that everything on IMDB is accurate but when a movie is announced, it usually displays said movie after basic research. Well, my suspicion came true. Natalya further elaborated in a tweet that she was catfished by somebody pretending to be Jason Momoa.

PJ Black On Cutting A Promo About Flowers To Vince McMahon.

Brian Zane of Wrestling With Wregret (great YouTube channel, by the way) introduced a new series called "promo redemption" in which he gives a wrestler a second chance to cut their worst promo (which is clearly not inspired by that comedy central show hosted by a dude named Daniel Tosh).

PJ Black or the former Justin Gabriel, had to redeem himself by cutting a promo about flowers years after his first attempt in NXT. But before that, Black had a short interview with the zman basically talking about his time in NXT as a rookie to Matt Hardy and in it, PJ mentioned that he cut a promo about flowers again but this time to Vince McMahon in a promo class:

"And I fell flat yet again because I don't even remember what I said, I was like "I'm so confident" and I was like "yeah, I could nail it next time" and then Matt {Hardy} was like "well, here you go. Have the floor" and I legit just made up some stupid rhyme going "roses are red, violets are blue, I don't really know anything about flowers and neither do you" and I just kept going and I was like "just stop, just stop right now" {laughs}".

Check out the rest of the interview below.

Guys, thank you so much for checking out this series. Whether you discovered it from this post or you have been enjoying this since my first 5 News Week back in October of last year. Here's to more 5 News week in 2020 and hopefully beyond.

What do you think about the news I just reported and follow me on the tweets @omartheplayaguy. Anyways, stay safe smarks

WWE Smackdown Season Premiere | A Coherent Review.

It is the season premiere of Friday night Smackdown even though WWE doesn't have an offseason.  Nevertheless, it was a decent program and had a WAY better ending than whatever the hell of an ending last year's premiere of Friday night Smackdown showed.  There isn't a women's match this week and all of the AEW fanboys are looking at this like, "sEe, WWE dOeSn't feATuRe wOmeN'S mAtChEs aLsO."  pictures via WWE.com The Season Premiere Of Smackdown 2020.  The show started off with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon highlighting the scheduled matches for Smackdown as well as the superstars.  Chaos then ensued thanks to a huge brawl. Then, the "super freak" Lars Sullivan came out and delivered the freak accident to Shorty G.  Somehow, Jeff Hardy attacked him and that led to the opening match of the night between Lars and Jeff.  You know, I'm kind of surprised that two white people in McMahon and Hemsley knew who Rick James is.  Maybe I'm igno...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Fyter Fest 2020 Came Back Swinging?

Last week, on this very series, I said that I enjoyed Great American Bash better than Fyter Fest.  Well, this week is the exact opposite. AEW came in swinging with night 2 Fyter Fest.  I've not liked a Dynamite episode in several weeks so it's nice to see that the show finally executed a great show since God knows how long.   NXT      Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae In A Street Fight. The match went underway after Yim quickly attacked Candice LeRae during LeRae's entrance.  In the crowd area, Candice tried to nail the suplex on the table but Yim got out of that position and kicked her to which she landed through the table.  The Streetfight concluded with LeRae striking Yim with the brass knuckles followed by a swinging neck from the top of the table onto a bunch of chairs and that's how LeRae defeats the HBIC.  A fun opening match even though...

THE Coherent AEW Take: Christian Dior, Dior. Eddie Kingston up in all the stores!

Ever since AEW Dynamite was on Saturday night for a bit, I've been WAY behind on AEW content so excuse my ignorance. And It's Full Gear weekend which means another PPV that would last longer than the Snyder cut.  Sheeit, I'll bet the collar and elbow hold alone from the Hangman Page and Kenny Omega championship match, is longer than the entire Queen's Crown tournament.  As far as how I feel about both programs this week, well.  They did an okay job on building towards the final AEW PPV of the year this Saturday. Rampage.   Highlights.  Bryan Danielson vs Anthony Bowens.  And no, the highlight doesn't include Max Caster's verses. I'll rather listen to f**king Riff Raff than Max Caster's dig on anything.  The worst part, people are probably going to look at this and say, "can't wait for a Max Caster's appearance on Wild 'N Out!"  With that being said, this opening match was good. Danielson wins with the rebel lock.  Eddie Kingston (wi...
