A very good week for wrestling on both shows/episodes and that's all I have for my opening statement in my coherent wrestling Wednesdays.

NXT

Highlights.

The O.C Made A Very Statement Earlier In The Night.

WWE Photo
The black and gold brand started off this episode with the original club and they destroyed all of the NXT champions. AJ Styles and The Good Brothers then said that their statement was Undisputed.

Tommaso Ciampa came out to say that NXT is the main roster to which Matt Riddle and Keith Lee stood by Ciampa's side and challenged The O.C to a 6 man tag team match later that night. The O.C said that they are on.

A very short opening segment like most NXT opening segments and it was a pretty good way of building Survivor Series. Really liked how Ciampa said that he didn't give a crap when The O.C beats up The Undisputed Era. A nice touch of detail and continuity which is word WWE doesn't know like the Fox's X-Men universe.

Pete Dunne vs Damian Priest.

WWE Photo

Dunne slaps Priest's chest repeatedly. Minutes after that, Dunne plants Priest with the sitout powerbomb. The bruiserweight then locked in the armbar while snapping Priest's fingers to win this match.

I don't mind 50/50 booking as long as the second match was better than the first match and this one was an example of that. Killian Dain punches Pete and Damian Priest tried to join the fun but Dain threw him over the top rope.

WWE Photo

Both men then brawled but Priest ate a vicious cannonball from Dain on the steel steps. I like that heels or faces actually disagree and not team up because "they're bad guys" and vice versa.

Shayna Baszler vs Dakota Kai.

WWE Photo

A very good match. Shayna aims at Dakota Kai's knees through this match but Kai got some comeback even reversing the clutch submission for the first time but Shayna got it right the second time and Baszler won the match.

Shayna and the gang beat up Dakota Kai and the rest of team Ripley came with the help of Mia Yim. Mia officially fills the final spot for team Ripley replacing Dakota Kai and given that Yim had a problem with Shayna in the past, that makes all the sense in the world.

Tony Nese vs Angel Garza. Number One Contenders Match For The Cruiserweight Championship.

WWE Photo

If I talked about everything manoeuvre in this match, it would've been as long as some of my PPV reviews. Oh, and his sitout powerbomb was great.

Angel Garza wins this match with a winged clipper. What a fun match and worthy of being called a highlight. Coming out of the NXT Breakout tournament, I've been impressed with Angel Garza so I'm really glad that Garza is getting a push.

Dominic Djakovic vs Isiah "Swerve" Scott.

WWE Photo

Holy Moses, another fun singles match. Scott delivered a clothesline that almost made Djakovic take an L but he ate the feast your eyes finish and won the match.

Some Other Things That Happened.

Santana Garrett vs Taynara - Santana's NXT debut (great signing by the way) and she took an L with a bicycle kick. Hopefully, that is not a series of loses for Santana Garrett.

The O.C vs Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee and Matt Riddle - Ciampa stops the Good Brothers on hitting the magic killer to Keith Lee. Lee took out Styles with a shoulder tackle but Styles accidentally knocked out the ref because of Lee's tackle.

As Ciampa was about to hit the fairytale ending, Finn Balor's music hits which distracted Ciampa and both Balor and Styles acknowledged each other but Adam Cole took out Styles as well as Tommaso Ciampa. The match had no end to it so that was lame but will see how The Undisputed Era reacts from that next week.

AEW

Highlights.

Trent vs Pac.

AEW tore a page out of WWE's book by removing Trent's last name which doesn't bother me like when they removed Rusev first's name. However, Pac kicking Orange Cassidy is by far the most heelish thing I've seen in many months. That was itself a highlight.

Pac delivered a vicious brainbuster outside the ring to which he hits the black arrow and locked in the rings of Saturn submission to win this match. Pac then grabbed the microphone and basically said that he'll make an example out of Hangman Adam Page at Full Gear.

If you told me that the former "Adrian Neville" portrays a better bad guy than a good guy, I'll honestly call you crazy because that's all I saw from him but he proved me wrong ever since his King Of The Cruiserweight run all the way to today.

Cody's Big Announcement.

Cody verbally puts over everybody at AEW and his major announcement is that if he didn't win this match then he'll never challenge the big main title again.

Cody then went on to say that this match is important and when The Inner Circle and The Elite battles then they'll eat up the heel stable. What a great passion that Cody showed in his promo. If that didn't sell you the AEW title match, I don't know what will.

Inside The Mind Of Chris Jericho.

AEW took Virgil (yes, The Virgil), Sammy Guevara, Santana, Ortiz, Chris' aunt from church's opinions about Chris Jericho even Jake Hager who didn't say anything which was the best part of that segment.

Jamie Hayter and Emi Sakura vs Shanna and Riho.

Probably the best women's match since the women's championship weeks ago. Shanna takes out Sakura and Hayter with the crossbody followed by an underhook piledriver minutes later to Emi Sakura. Emi Sakura pins Riho to win this match.

Some Other Things That Happened.

The Dark Order vs Private Party. Winner Joins SCU and Lucha Brothers To Battle For The AEW World Tag Team Championship  - This was aight. Marq Quen took a 450 splash and he barely kicked out. Private Party won this match win gin and juice.

Brandi Rhodes Talks about Herself And Awesome Kong Being Unstoppable - Okay. Whatever.

"The Chairman" Shawn Spears vs Brandon Cutler - Cutler got some offence but it was a one-sided match for the most part. Spears won the match with a death valley driver.

After that, Joey Janela rushed to the ring to save Cutler from an additional beatdown by Shawn Spears.

Kenny Omega And Hangman Page vs Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara - Hager hits Omega from behind without the ref's knowledge whatsoever. Thanks to Pac, Jericho hits the Judas effect and Page was thankfully saved by Cody.

Cody delivers the cross Rhodes with the help of MJF. Jon Moxley came out from the crowd area and Santana and Ortiz brawled with Moxley, Omega and The Young Bucks so it basically turned into chaos. Will see how Full Gear turns out this Saturday or Sunday morning where I live.

WWE Extreme Rules 2019 | My Coherent Review.

Man, I'm impressed with WWE in terms of PPVs as of late because overall, this was a fantastic show in my opinion with great matches but the crowd was dead for most of the show so that sucks.  I finally watched the pre-show match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura before I went to bed because the show aired at 2 am where I live and it was okay.  By the way, how interesting is it when on last year’s Extreme Rules show, Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States championship and now this year’s show, he won the intercontinental title. Also, it's funny that the intercontinental championship was the main event on last's year show and on this year's Extreme Rules PPV, it's on the preshow.  Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.  Mike Rome did better in announcing "The Best In the world" this time than on RAW. Mike Rome's announcement a few weeks ago sounded like that one friend that thinks he/she knows how to ...

NXT Takeover: In Your House 2020 | A Coherent Review.

NXT Takeover: In Your House is like the rest of the Takeover shows, a fantastic 2 hours of professional wrestling.  What makes this show special is the additional nostalgia like how the show started with the NXT WWF inspired intro, the ice cream commercial narrated by William Regal doing his best Lord Alferd Hayes impression, icopro commercial and last but not least, Todd Pettengill.  This is a show that I'm definitely rewatching in years to come.  Mia Yim, Tegan Nox And Shotzi Blackheart vs Raquel Gonzalez, Candice LeRae And Dakota Kai.  A decent opening match. During the match, Nox did a Molly Holly top rope on to every competitor in the match.  Yim tried to give LeRae some Seoul Food but LeRae reversed that into a suplex. Several minutes later, Shotzi did a Salida Del Sol of some sort on Gonzalez to which Nox delivered the shiniest wizard on Kai and won the match.  Finn Balor vs Damian Priest. I actually thought that the closing mo...

The Coherent Wrestling Wednesdays: Holy Sh*t, The Revival Are All Elite, Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher In A Unique Steel Cage Match.

Both shows had its weak points but overall, that was an enjoyable 4 hours of professional wrestling television. I personally liked AEW Dynamite this week.  From an awesome women's match with Shida and Christi Jaynes to The Revival showing up, AEW managed to give me a solid episode and successfully furthered their storylines to next week's exciting show.  NXT   Highlights (at least in my opinion because wrestling is subjective).  Kushida vs Drake Maverick vs Jake Atlas. Triple Threat Match Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.  What a way to kick off this episode of NXT, am I right? Atlas delivered the rainbow DDT but Kushida broke Jake's pin.  Speaking of Kushida, he nailed the armbar submission, however, Drake pinned Atlas because Atlas' shoulders were on the mat and will meet El Hijo Del Fantasma for the finals next week.  I don't know if Drake is rehired or he's going to be rehired but Maverick has a big ta...
